I think this pet shop is fairly new, because I drive past this depressing strip of shops quite often en route to the city centre and I'd never noticed it until recently.
It sits sandwiched between some ropey-looking shops, usually with teenagers congregating outside, but if you can get past that, the pet shop itself is smart and clean enough.
When I took my greyhound into the shop, the owner struck up conversation with me because he too owns a greyhound, who's usually with him at the shop on weekdays (but this was a Saturday). I'll have to pop back sometime to introduce the two dogs!
The range of stock is good - including lots of packets of dog and cat food, bird food, rabbit food, hamster cages, dog beds, and most pet accessories you'd expect to find in a small, independent pet shop. It's handy if I need to pick something up urgently without going out of my way, and I'd rather support a small independent shop like this when I can rather than automatically falling back on Pets at Home every time, which is also far further out of my way. read more
