The candy of old. Part museum and part sweet shop, they have displays showing the candies through the ages, from native American hickory bark to 1900 toys and food items behind glass. It was tough to limit our purchase as we saw so many "must have" items. In the end, we got our bill down to under $30 and just got four different things including some chocolate covered almonds for me (vacation food!) and both ginger and licorice for Mrs. K. Note that True Treats Candy is not handicapped accessible. The entrance is a somewhat steep set of stairs. They might have a rear entrance, probably just ask. The Turkey pesto sandwich was very oregano forward. It was tasty but I personally prefer a basil base pesto. She had the Say cheese sandwich which she stated was wonderful, cheesy and perfect. We both had the lobster bisque for our soup. It was flavorful, creamy and the perfect temp for sipping and dipping. I had a Chai tea (one of many available). I prefer a stronger spice and a little burn (ginger). It was a nice compliment to my meal. The pot for one provider 3 1/2 cups of tea. She had a sweet white wine, we did not ask if it were a Riesling or other, it was nice and went well with her meal. The only downfall which is only a big deal to me and maybe a few is styrofoam to go containers.

I also recommend their version of a butterfinger. These chocolates have a more homemade feel to them vs a boutique chocolate shop. They also sell specialty shakes with rotating flavors each month. We went in especially for these shakes and got the Don't Be Salty and Gimme S'more of That. They were fun but the shake itself was thin and tasted more like chocolate milk. The two workers were very friendly and helpful and they even cleaned out our take home Mason jar for us after we done with our shake. It's worth a visit. I also recommended the Farmhouse Exchange next door which sells sandwiches and jarred goods as well as many delicious baked goods. The liquor store on the other side is also good.
