Leo is very talented and innovative and has now done several projects for this anxious, elderly woman on her own who was so tired of being cheated. He is an excellent painter, did some drywall repair to damage done by a window air conditioner, removed paneling and painted a bathroom, all in the studio apartment that I rent for extra income. He also sealed my apartment rubber roof beautifully. Several other odd jobs were quickly done for me as well. He will admit that he's a perfectionist, which is actually a plus in his line of work. So many do slipshod work nowadays and his quality results are so refreshing! His sweet, smart wife, Frances, submitted Timely, accurate, and more than reasonable estimates prior to all work. I understand from speaking with a couple of his very enthusiastic references that this is truly a family business because even the lovely, polite and brilliant young daughters have been known to lend a hand on occasion. Workers Russ & David did an excellent job of keeping us updated on everything they were doing as the job progressed, and even made suggestions on some extras that were needed (actually needed, not an up-sell). At the end of the day, EVERYTHING was cleaned up before they left for the day. Everyone at Handy Chuck's was very personable and easy to talk to. To my amazement, Justin and his wife came early in the day, they even brought treats for my dog, and spent the entire day working on the house. They fixed every issue, cleaned up the property, cleaned the screens and windows and just really did an amazing job. We are military and have rented a lot of places, and NEVER have I seen this level of caring and professionalism from anyone we depended on to take care of the home we were in. We had holes in our walls, outlets put in upside down, wires that stayed hot constantly, and multiple power issues even though they were supposed to replace the entire panel. They cut the power to our dishwasher completely and never said a word to us. As far as the bathroom, we went for over two weeks without a sink. They sent a guy out to do the tile who ended up asking us for gas money to get home. The toilet was not sealed and leaked everywhere. The bathtub drain was not connected properly and water continues to run underneath our home. We asked for steps coming off of our porch so our dogs could go outside. I sent a few texts asking when we could meet to sign the contract and get the down payment to him. After a couple texts he replied he would suggest someone else take care of this project. I wish he has told me this earlier so I could have gone with someone else and that is what I told him. He then responded that I was mentally unstable, and he would not get into a contract with me. Maybe if you have been thru breast cancer and then taking care of your elderly parents you might have some compassion towards others. I don't care what his work is like, this is not the man I would want in my house. No respect for anyone!!!
