The event was well worth the prices, there were some vintners I 'knew' from the different events I've been attending the last couple months. The ambiance and vibe was chill, everyone was chatting and milling around, checking out vendors and tasting wines, and there were food trucks serving pizza and gyros. I would have liked some offerings of food inside the venue, but I did get some delicious plant based cupcakes with really good frosting. The whole evening was chill, we sat at a table then went to sit out on the bleachers for a bit more breeze. Very enjoyable event, we'll definitely come back for the next one.

Went to Tempe Beach Park for the 2026 Reggae Rise Up Festival…read more We rode the light rail to the event to avoid the hassle of finding a place to park. The festival was laid out exceptionally. There were plenty of vendors, tons of great food trucks, the stages were thoughtfully placed & the clever artist rotation assured that there was music playing at all times. Our only regret is that we did not bring chairs to sit in. Since a picture is worth a thousand words, watch my video from the event to get a glimpse on what the festival had to offer. It's a beautiful location with scenic views of the bridges and water, and there's even a nearby museum which adds to the experience. Parking can be a bit of a mixed situation. There is a parking garage available, but it does require payment. We also noticed an additional open lot next to the garage where you can park for free; however, it is gated and the surface is mostly dirt and rocks, so just something to keep in mind. One thing we didn't come across was a public restroom, so it's unclear where the nearest one is located. Overall, it's a great area to visit and enjoy events. My only suggestion would be to add more parking options or provide a designated free parking area for visitors, so not everyone has to pay for parking.

There was some ac indoors and indoor bathrooms available too. We didn't get to check out the other side and stage though. Just stayed at main stage. It did get hot later on the more packed it got. The main issue was the poor planning by Insomniac resulting in many waiting outside in line in the heat for hours just to get in. I would have passed out. We were at the back of the line for about 30 mins. Luckily, one in our group managed to get right up near the front just before security check so we all joined him. I think it took us an hour total to get in from when we were dropped off. Insomniac did offer a full refund or tickets to a future festival! I opted for the full refund. The wait for the rideshare leaving the event was horrible. We had one that took forever to get there and then when they were almost there, the ride canceled. It took forever to get another.

Adj: Fancy and Fun at Fountain Park…read more So while on a trip to AZ, we came to this park kind of on a whim because we were staying in Fountain Hills. It was close to the hotel we stayed at and I read some great things about this park and my kids loved playgrounds, so off we go. It's been redone so it did not always look so fancy schmancy, but let me tell you this town and neighborhood is quite well to do so I think the funding is not lacking. The park is right next to the man-made lake which is made famous because of the fountain that goes off multiple times every day! But back to the park, the playground really is fun. There's things to climb, slide down, run onto, jump up and down on, and even a zip-line like thing that was kind of scary for me (yes, I'm a scaredy cat). My kids had a great time on that thing and my son in particular went crazy on it going back and forth multiple times. Overall, this is a great park, the playground alone is worth a visit, but then there's covered seating area not far from the playground, and right next to that there's a musical section where you can hit on different metallic objects to make music! My kids really had fun w/those things. There are benches for parents to chill after exertions on the play structure. The view of the lake is nice from anywhere at the park too. Lovely and enjoyable. We would love to visit again.

2.14.26 - Concours In The Hills Car Show…read more I attended this annual event for the first time this year. Car show started at 11am and ended at 3pm. I wanted to be there right at 10am because I know events like these can get pretty busy, and I was right. We didn't get there til about 11ish. My friends lagged plus there was a bit of traffic right at the exit. The plaza closest to the park was completely packed full. People were making their own parking spots in there. You just have to park at the first spot you can find and walk to the park. There are many cars of all makes and models to see. I like that they categorized them and put all the same types together. Cars filled the grass all around the entire park. There are plenty of drink/food stands and food trucks as well if you get thirsty or hungry out there. We walked the entire park but I think we may have missed a few things. I saw in another review that there is a spot with musical instruments somewhere at the park! I didn't see that but would have loved it. The day started off nice but it got warm pretty quick that day. Free water bottles were available at the Phoenix Children's booths. The event was cool to see and different. It seems pretty organized. I personally don't like walking on grass though, especially where dogs are allowed. Definitely come early though for parking and to enjoy the event before it gets hot later in the day.

One nice feature is the little Kid's Cove splash pad area for the kids to stay cool in. Parents were taking advantage of the misters by the playground there, too. Some really cool vendors - lots of food choices, pet supplies and treats, jewelry, 3-D printed offerings, and some booths offering services for alarms or window replacements. Bathrooms were open for guests and vendors alike. We made a purchase from the mobile bookmobile vendor right by the entrance. Weather permitting, we'll be back. The A/C in our car was on the fritz, but if the vendors can handle the heat, so could we. A fun weekend adventure.

Before my visit, my husband came a couple of days before me and was able to score an autograph of Tatis! I got to see the Padres train! And all the fans waiting patiently for autographs from the players. The training fields are next to each other about four of them maybe 5. The stadium is not too far away. My family will be there next week to watch the games! We were able to visit the Team Store and purchase some merchandise. It will save time and from being in the chaotic crowd during the games.
