Game play is just as intense and exciting as the charity bingo hall around the corner, fast paced, strict policies (better be quick to yell out bingo if you win!), lots of opportunities for cash prizes, friendly helpful people all around, and about 3-4 hours of bingo fun! Though the payouts are lower at St. John's ($100 payouts for early bird games, $200 payouts for regular games, plus $50 increase per game on the last Monday of the month), the buy-in is lower as well. As of July 2024, buy-in is $25, then $5 per game set after that. Each set (one pack) has 15 bingo sheets consisting of 5 early bird games and 10 regular games. Each sheet in the set has 6 bingo boards. The bingo games have quite a range of patterns throughout the evening in order to win, like "small crazy kite" or "postage stamps", and who knew that hitting all four corners on the board counts as a bingo!?! Thank goodness they also provide an easy-to-follow instruction sheet, so you know what you're playing and you don't miss anything, since the game goes quickly. Workers/volunteers also walk around selling flash, strip, cherry bell, and other special games. We got a few flash cards (kinda like scratchers, but cheaper with lower winnings)... won a buck total from 10 cards, lol. A food truck on site allows participants to enjoy some dinner or snacks while playing. We grabbed a couple tacos from the mexican food truck outside during one of the breaks, and it was pretty good. The event is open to ages 18 and over, though the crowd looks like mainly 50 and older. Even being some of the youngest players there, we fit in just fine and had a pleasant time at bingo night... will be back to win more than a dollar next time.

I've always been to Aquamaids in Santa Clara but this one is just as close to me, so I figured I…read morecan go and check it out. Glad I did thanks to one of my good buddies who told me they host bingo night on Mondays here! For a price tag of $20, you get to play a minimum buy in which supplies two booklets and you play a good 15 rounds. If you don't have a dauber, it's about $1+. But since I have a bunch, I brought my own. Nonetheless it's pretty cheap. You're given a short break here and there. If you show up by 6pm, they do an early bird special to play a few rounds. The actual time to start playing begins at 645pm sharp and it ends at about 945-10pm. Which is perfect. Since I don't want to play past 10pm for a Monday night. Aside from bingo, they also have catered food if you're feeling hungry and didn't get to have dinner. Since this is a Men's Italian Club, I thought they serve only Italian food but wrong judgement. They also serve other food choices but it's mostly Italian dishes. For a full meal it's $8 which gives you a meat dish and two sides. A drink costs $1. Or if you want just one small order of meat, it's $4. For that price tag, you get a hefty portion. I was able to eat half and take the rest home for leftovers. If you don't want to buy food from there, you're able to bring your own. The people here are generally much nicer and it's friendly and chill. Smaller in size for accommodation. I wouldn't pay mind to it since I come here for fun! Would I come back? Yes!

Dialogue excerpt: Me: I'm so excited to play Bingo tonight!…read moreManuel M.: You're just excited to play bingo, because of the prospect a bunch of old men being at the same place. Me: Touché, my friend. But maybe true. +2 points for you. But beyond that candor, bingo has a special place in my heart. My mother and I don't do anything together much anymore, and when I was 15 - she introduced me to bingo. This was the first place we went. And today, after a horrendous day in the office, coupled with a horrendous current outlook on life - I decided, bingo was needed. And thank god, it was Monday - because every Monday, the Italian Men's Club does bingo. So first of all, they have some really good Italian food here. And it's cheap. I'm down for spaghetti, almost all the time... especially, if it's good. The facilities are not great, but the experience is great. I wouldn't recommend doing 4 regular bingo cards at a time, because I got tired. Buy-in is $15 minimum, usually the night starts at 6pm with early bird, dinner is served starting at 5, and the regular games start at 6:45. The people that go here are odd at worse, and usually nice at best. So after a day of wanting to stab myself in the ear with a pencil at the office, I tried doing numbers with a cute pink dabber instead. Judge me, that's fine. Was that last number, O69, people?
