He's the whole reason we chose Regal instead of the other quotes we got and he really came through on everything we wanted while also giving us his valuable opinion. It was a decent-sized scope: we pulled out a row of old overgrown bougainvillea (stumps, roots and all), demolished a concrete slab by the garage, added a new flagstone pathway and patio, decomposed granite replaced an entire lawn, mulch and decorative pebble in the front yard, a long podocarpus privacy hedge, full drip irrigation conversion with smart timers, and landscape lighting in the front and back. They even installed our new fire pit for us. Joseph walked the property with us, gave real opinions about what would and wouldn't work instead of just saying yes to everything, and stayed reachable by text the whole way through. His invoice was also the most detailed quote we got, which gave us a lot of confidence that the details would be handled when we got through When we changed our minds on a couple of details mid-project, he handled it easily. The crew was punctual, careful around the existing trees and hardscape, and swept up at the end of every day. Fair price, clean work, and genuinely good people to deal with. A little backstory...My entire house had been under a massive reconstruction for over a year-and-a-half. During that time the water had to be turned off, killing all of the grass and most of the plants, and turning my entire yard into a dirt lot with overgrown weeds. It was a hot mess. I wanted new drought-resistant plants and artificial grass with a drip system instead of sod grass with a sprinkler system like I had before, but Roy also made some great recommendations that I hadn't even considered. The most significant was replacing my old concrete patio with a bigger patio made of sand-colored pavers. What a difference that made! I couldn't believe that the entire landscaping job was done in just five days, and Roy let me know he was also available afterwards for any questions I might have. Six weeks later, when I had questions about my new drip system controller and wanted to make sure my plants were getting enough water, Roy personally came back out to my house and walked me through all of it. When he left he told me, "Just reach out if you need anything else. I'm here." And Roy means it. He truly wants you to be happy with the work they do and will go the distance to make sure you are. I called Trujillo for a quote for hardscape landscaping that involved grating my front yard and…read morelaying rock. Rigoberto said that he would send his "foreman" out to give the quote. Rigoberto's supposed "foreman" turned out to be some guy he throws business to when he isn't able or willing to do the work himself. So, Rigoberto sends a guy named Rosas to measure the lawn and give me the estimate. He's on time and gives me a too-good-to-be-true price for labor and materials. I schedule the work with Rosas because I assume he knows what he's talking about and there didn't seem to be any reason to doubt that he'd show up. Well, Rosas never showed up. I ended up texting him asking what the deal was and he responds with "so, so sorry. I am finishing a job and can be there on Wednesday," which would be two days later than we originally discussed. I told him to forget it and that I'd find someone else to do the work. Rosas does not have it together and anyone who promises you an extremely low price right out the gate, you should always be wary if they'll be able to pull it off much less show up to do the work. I should have listened to my original instincts. I wouldn't use Trujillo Landscape if I were you and I wouldn't trust Rigoberto's recommendations! These guys do not have it together.
