I liked the convenience of downtown but I love not waiting outside ever and it is very bright and clean. The only thing I miss about downtown clinic is seeing the front desk fella Roman. Either clinic has great staff. I appreciate being treated with respect and dignity at this clinic- not all places I feel guaranteed this as an addict. I've remained sober something I could not do without methadone. It has changed my life and I hope more people can find help this way.

I saw that some people maybe didn't have the best experience but I must say we have had nothing but praise for this place. My mom has an apartment with amazing views of the ponds/ acreage and she doesn't have to leave the building to go see Dad in skilled nursing. She brings him to her independent dining room a few times a week to eat with him and get him out of the nursing home ( which has huge rooms with great views). This being our first experience with putting a loved one in a hospice facility was quite traumatic and emotional. Our father was treated with gentle, caring respect and dignity. I found the major key to having this hard time made a bit easier is assuring full involvement, communication and understanding of end of life care. You cannot expect your loved one to have a nurse at any given second. You must pay for a full time 24 hour private nurse if that is your expectation. The staff has several patients to tend to and they do a wonderful job. Loosing my father was one of the worst moments of my life. I miss him every day and grieve still to this day, he passed on March 23rd. I receive phone calls from the bereavement counselor and mailers offering a lot of resources to help cope with loss of a loved one. This facility certainly does not have the chandelier "AWE" when you go upstairs, but the love and care mean much more than that. Key point to success is to be involved with your loved one until the end. You cannot just drop off and leave as you do with your day care for a child. I would have given a 5 star however, I am a firm believer that there is always room for improvement. Thank you to all of the staff at Meridian

After hip replacement surgery, I was an inpatient here for two weeks (March 7-21, 2024)--I did not…read morego anywhere else during this time. They rightly earn at least one star due to excellent PT and OT plus Bella (OT) and Bea (aide), bright lights who made my time there bearable. Wheatridge Manor missed a chance for a higher rating because they almost killed me with a wrong assessment and then a 10-hour delay of needed treatment on March 21. I had contracted strep A sepsis there (and went into kidney failure), necessitating ambulance transport from Wheatridge Manor to Lutheran Hospital ER where they fought for hours to save my life. Source of infection: untreated bug bites (about 3-19 at Wheatridge Manor) which became infected and then developed into a bad case of cellulitis. Additional details: from the time (around 4am) of my first physical symptoms on the morning of March 21 (pain, uncontrollable shaking, vomiting; a few hours later, expressive aphasia--inability to process language), the night nurse Pam and day nurse Jennifer wrongly assessed me as experiencing a panic attack due to "anxiety" about going home. Pam also chewed me out for taking time away from other patients who "really" needed her care (my friend witnessed that unpleasant exchange). I was in and out of awareness for the rest of that day. This terrified me (my symptoms as well as being ignored and dismissed by the nursing staff) as I knew something was very, very wrong. Needing support and a witness, I called my friend (retired nurse). She arrived at the facility around 5am and stayed with me all day. Finally, around 2pm, I asked her to phone my high school BFF in Houston who's a doctor. Dr friend had two words for us: "Ambulance now!" Wheatridge's day nurse, Jennifer, only made the phone call due to pressure from my witness. These two dear friends, along with Lutheran's ER and other medical personnel, saved my life. Accordingly, I do not recommend Wheatridge Manor for anyone. Yes, the PT and OT are great, but the rest of the facility lacks adequate, coordinated care. However, if that place seems the best placement for your loved one, be sure to check on them frequently and to advocate for their needs or they may either almost die like me, or actually die, from inadequate care.

Staff (aides) had attitudes and made you feel like it was a bother to be called. My husband would be helped to the bathroom, and then left on the toilet alone, sometimes as long as 45 minutes. The food was awful. The case manager seemed vindictive if you spoke up. I don't recommend this place, but hate to say too much, because my husband may have to go back there some time.

I was embarrassed a bit as I remembered one of my favorite staffers an OT's name as she really helped me relearn how to walk. I forgot the name of a lady that helped me every day face palm . I don't think she recognized me when I said hello , as she was nice it is OK it has been well over a year . I think I also recognized the lady at the desk but I don't remember her name being Jay lol on her tag. I dropped off some fun 3d trinkets and Chocolate for the staff (aha I trust she shared lol it is OK it was squirreled away , seriously the worlds best chocolate bar flown in from Dubai) as I was originally a scheduled for Surgery on the 13th to wind up there the 14th, then it was rescheduled and I figured I may need bribes lol and I'll be on my best behavior I promise. At any rate I would have spent more time but everyone was busy managing and helping everyone. I did get stuck temporarily in the elevator with a friendly nurse , we both thought is the elevator moving , happily the door opened and wound up singing in a stairwell to laughter from somewhere , a song for Sloans, great acoustics. Oh there are plenty of elevators as well , I'm laughing as I was probably pranked :) If I go back I'll definitely bring an acoustic guitar as the place is missing music. Inside joke I'm a legend in my own mind and the bingo was fun as well but their are Bingo sharks in there. I was recently published coauthored Inside NeXT available on eBay so yes I'll continue to write , so more entertaining than one would expect , Time Traveling an adventure from a guy immobilized in a bed surviving MRSA saved by angels, I had to relearn how to walk , crazy stuff oh my happens when portals open up at sloans , fiction and non fiction why be boring, , some all ages , some you find in the overly romantic book clubs meets cosmo lol some kept secret squirrel aha . It is/was always a fun mix of folks of all ages , staff is great some true gem personalities , yes names changed . I don't know if a handlebar mustache is a requirement with an old timey hat , ha but that would be kind of funny. Including the chef hat making the pasta. ## Original review I have been here 6 weeks and have made friends with a lot of the staff. They have been friendly , responsive and very helpful . I was thankful for them helping me learn to walk again and it has been a 2 1/2 month journey as I almost died from sepsis. I'm finally going home tomorrow. . The PT and OT staff are amazing . The food depends on the chef lol doesn't it always as it can be fantastic or not so much an alternative there is a great cafe in the lobby that makes an awesome burger $4.50 add fries 1.50 :) yes I would recommend Sloans Lake Rehabilitation center, incredible view of Downtown Denver and or the mountains and lake . My parents in their 80's found it convenient for practically daily visits as well. It is also kept clean and the staff in previous ratings no longer work here and management is not afraid to justly make personnel changes when justified . My Wife and I have been at Westlake since August. Moving here was the best decision we could have…read moremade. The staff is absolutely amazing. They take care of us like they were taking care of their family. which is what we are, one big family. Everyone has a smile when they greet you. The food is good, and many activities to make sure you have fun. Westlake is the best.

Westlake is an older care center with nice employees. Meals were healthy and good, coffee is always…read moreavailable and there is entertainment/activities available for the residents. My dad seemed to enjoy his short time there (he was a rehab patient, not a resident) as much as a 90 yr old dementia patient would. The main problem my siblings and I have with the center is their laundry practices/system. From what I can tell, resident's clothes are washed on an almost daily basis (that's a good thing!), with any and everyone's clothes washed together (understandable). Clothes are marked with names and/or room numbers but there is an issue of clothes getting back to the correct rooms. Items of my dad's clothes went missing on an almost daily basis as well as him wearing someone else's clothes because they were put in his room in error. He's not much for clothing details at this point. We were always on the hunt for who might have his "favorite" shirt on today. In the end, at discharge, I think we left with everything he started with. They do not check pants/shirt pockets and because of this my dad's fairly basic, new phone ended up getting washed and ruined and had to be replaced. Yes, he still has a phone as we like to talk to him whenever possible and he loves hearing from all of us. The center refused to reimburse the price of the new phone as, in part, with 60 residents, that's a lot of pockets to go through. If you only have one job (doing laundry), maybe a little more care/attention to detail should be taken. I'm sure in all the paperwork we signed at admission there's a disclaimer about entering at your own risk and them not being responsible for loss or damage to one's belongings and we'll definitely know better the next time we take him somewhere.
