This hotel backs against a wonderful pedestrian waterfront walk. The buffet meals were very good. We couldn't get our pass key to open the rear gate leading to the waterfront walk, so we had to walk the perimeter of the hotel instead (as the desk staff appeared to be inordinately busy).

The rooms are smallerish but it's perfect as I wasn't there to hang out in the room all day long. And the bathroom was a bit cramped too. The food here was better than most other hotels I was at in Turkey (I stayed at about 7 different hotels in Turkey) and it had a really nice view of the sea. Very quiet and serene. Explore the docks and the people here are very nice and helpful. The free wi-fi doesn't work in the rooms though. Most likely due to the stone walls and construction of this place so it basically only works in the lobby. Oh, and the electricity went out about 3 times for about 3-10 secs the one night I stayed here but I didn't mind it at all. Very quaint. I think that's a good description of the location. Beautiful surroundings. From the natural space to the homes and buildings that hugged the cliff sides. I would not mind going back here at all.

It is located directly under the hill where Pergamum sits overseeing the city of Bergama below. You can feel the cultural and military significance of the site even at the base of the hill where the hotel is. The owners, a retired couple, where incredibly hospitable. They went out of the way to make my sister and I feel welcome. It was my sisters birthday and they gave us some birthday baklava and red wine to celebrate. The night we arrived the owner invited us to the town of Dikili on the coast and invited us to accompany them. We went and had a marvelous time eating fresh sea food on the water and chatting with the owners and their children who were visiting from abroad. Rarely in my life have I experienced such hospitality and kindness. I felt like a member of the family. I will never forget this family and this wonderful hotel.
