This hotel is very centrally located in the heart of the historic center of Bordeaux. It is…read moredirectly across from the opera house and is in a beautiful historic building as well.
Upon arriving, we received a code so that we could drive to the front of the hotel (there are barriers if you don't have a number). The valet took and parked our car, which made check in easier.
The check in was a delight. We received an upgrade from the junior suite to a superior suite, which has a bedroom, living room, 4 closets, a bathroom, shower room, and 2 WCs. There were blackout curtains and it was very quiet. In addition, the gentleman who checked us in told us that he is from Bordeaux and let us know that we could ask him or the concierge for any restaurant or itinerary recommendations.
The concierge is top notch. I developed a very painful toothache the first night here. The following morning, I asked for a recommendation for a dentist. He booked me an appointment WITHIN AN HOUR at a nearby dentist who spoke English within a 5 minute walk to the hotel (although I speak intermediate French, I could not have adequately described my symptoms).
The breakfast buffet had lots of options and they were tasty. I wish the cappuccinos were a little bit stronger but that is the only tiny complaint I have about this hotel.
We are enjoying our stay. The staff and accommodations are wonderful.
