While this hotel has no bells and whistles, it was very clean, had comfortable (twin) beds, and an excellent (small) shower. The staff was beyond friendly, helpful, and spoke English. The morning breakfast was great (worth the few Euros). The hotel is also located very close to the bus which took us to the city. (The hotel staff explained the bus routes and gave us bus maps.) The hotel was also within walking distance to several restaurants. All in all, if you're looking for a budget hotel that will not break the bank, this is certainly a place to stay.

The front staff is always so nice and accommodating, fetched extra pillows, and changed our rooms so that our children could have the bunk bed over the double bed, so that the kids are above out heads. This particular hotel is family friendly, with a breakfast in the morning.

The WiFi never once worked in our room, and the staff kept making excuses, like they expected it would. But other guests had the same problem. We had to go outside or to the lobby to connect. There is no restaurant at the hotel, and it's a healthy walk to the downtown commercial area. Their bar/pub is nice and they will order food in for you, which we did one night. But it's not a real meal. Another night we did the 25 minute walk each way to a great restaurant, but had to be sure we got back before they locked the gate at 11pm. Hotel La Villa Eugene did have a few drawbacks we didn't expect.

Historic Villa with modern rooms! My husband and I stayed…read morehere for three nights. This hotel has all the modern amenities we wanted while away from home. The room was obviously recently renovated, which was great! The staff was really nice. Our room had small private balcony which we used daily! Unfortunately, I was not a fan of the garden in the back- it looked kinda sparse and sad. The pool looked nice but we didn't use it. I am glad this place had an elevator for our check in and check out with luggage. The hotel is right next door to Mercier Champagne, which is super cool! We are still telling stories about the Marcier Champagne place and everything we learned about Eugene Mercier. We walked down Avenue de Champagne daily and enjoyed walking to all the Champagne houses including Moet and Chandon. It's not that big of a deal, but they don't have a safe in the room. Also, they do not have 'do not disturb' signs which makes it hard if you don't want any maids coming in your room. Last thing, although minor- the key to the room is on a large heavy keychain and they recommend you leave it with the front desk when you head out for the day. First time I have seen a hotel do this- but its such a small and historic place, maybe it's normal for these kinds of hotels. Overall, I would totally recommend this place to friends.

Just around the corner you will find a beautiful, old stronghold that contains, as far as we understand, an exhibit of the history of the great war. Enough little restaurants and bistro's to choose from for dinner within walking distance . The hotel itself is very clean, and our room was spacious with a nice bathroom with walk in shower. Two chairs to sit in. Breakfast was included, and it's a great buffet with plenty to choose from. Fresh breads, eggs, deli cheeses, and meats, fruit, etc. And on top of this all it is located, conveniently near the A1, the thoroughfare from the North to Paris. Parking on the street nearby and behind the church. Saturday mornings there is market, so be sure to park behind the church on Friday night. We will be back ;-)

Stayed here after an enforced late depart from Paris and was too tired to go on to the tunnel…read more Arrived at 2100hrs and was welcomed by an attentetive receptionist who found me a room and organised a late meal. i wanted to leave early the next morning before the breakfast service started so he also organised an early breakfast to be laid out for me. Rooms are small but clean and comfortable and the hotel is right in the town centre. Excellent value and impeccable service. Good spot to stay if you are touring the battlefields
