Just an okay Ibis. Its best features are the location to Brive city and the free parking. The staff are also helpful. Sadly, the rooms leave much to be desired. They were supposedly refurbished in 2008, but apparently painted and decorated by a colorblind person. The walls are dark and decor rather garish all around. The rooms are a decent size and the bathroom probably too large with an 8-foot gap between the toilet and the sink. The air conditioning really doesn't work. On top of that, you can't open the windows comfortably because of all the flying insects dying to get in. The bathroom (which gets very hot and stuffy - almost suffocating) has a large window, but as soon as you open it, you are inundated with flies. Brive itself has many insects, probably because of the river throughout which the hotel also overlooks. I guess the concept of window screens have not yet made it to France. While the fittings and furnishings are passable, they are rather on the budget side. I do not think that this hotel is worth 90 euros per night even given its location. The quality is more 50 euros/night. There are cheaper hotels in Brive of the same quality. I will not book again. read more
