I really wanted to love this place. I certainly did from the website when I booked our rooms. I will say that the staff here and the front desk were all extreme nice and accommodating. Checked in and they told me that they'd upgraded me from my deluxe suite to the Terrance suite on the top floor. That was a nice surprise. Until I saw the room. It was a bit underwhelming. The modular furnishings seemed cold. There were certain details missed like soiled pillows on the sofa and exposed cords and power strips for the televisions. None of it was bad. It just didn't seem higher end like I was expecting. They told us during check in that they'd only make up our room if we had this hung on our doorknob. We did not hang it (as we didn't want our room made up) but that didn't stop the staff from knocking on our door at 8am or from coming back at 4pm while we are out. Bit confusing this was. The beds were nice and the linens were clean. It wasn't noisy. Had a decent nights rest. They had elevators which are not as common in this neighborhood as you'd think. Overall, it was a fine experience. For the price point I paid, I don't know that I'd return. read more

Beautiful boutique hotel in Old Montreal. Very near excellent dining options. I was able to walk downtown, around Old Montreal, and to the Port of Montreal. Valet parking was appreciated, as I dropped the car and never needed it until I left. My suite had great style and an exposed stone/brick wall, stand alone tub and walk in shower. The hotel staff - to a person - were among the friendliest I've ever encountered. Breakfast was also tasty. I arrived to chocolates and a handwritten note of welcome in my room, and on my second night returned to two small cheesecakes under a dome. I'll definitely return. read more

Enjoyed a lovely one night stay at Hotel Gault while in town for an overnight work trip. The staff welcomed me to the hotel and also were kind enough to allow me check in a bit early to freshen myself up after my flight before my work meetings. They told me they upgraded me to a larger room, which was lovely. The room itself was great, super high ceilings with lots of natural light from the huge windows, looking out onto other beautiful buildings in Old Montreal. The space was spotless and loved all of the attention to detail, including a large desk space for working/reading plus the awesome standalone tub in the bathroom. You best believe I enjoyed a fancy bubble bath in there at the end of my workday! The Molton Brown toiletries in the room were lovely and smelled amazing. Bed was also super comfy and so welcomed after a long day of meetings. The next day I called down to order room service and requested they swap out the ham on the eggs benedict to smoked salmon. The man I spoke to on the phone said it was no problem. I went about tidying up my room and the porter knocked on my door with my room service about 30 minutes or so later. I was looking forward to tucking into my meal (I was starving!) and was disappointed to see they hadn't updated the ham to salmon. When I politely called down to let them know of the mix up, the man apologized and said he would fix it. I assumed they would re-make the eggs benny but was surprised when the porter knocked on my door five minutes later with a small plate of smoked salmon in his hand. I'm not an overly picky person but I was surprised they didn't remake the dish. I then had to pull the ham off of my eggs benny, breaking the eggs and removing most of the hollandaise. I totally get this is a first world problem type of complaint but would have appreciated them remaking the dish instead, especially since the price tag on this breakfast order was nearly $40 with tax and tip. Other than this small hiccup, really enjoyed my stay here and would come back again in the future for sure. read more

Nice, quiet location in Old Town and within a short stroll to Victoria Station metro (3-5 minute walk) or St. Laurent bus stop (5-7 minute walk) for exploring other sections of Montreal such as Plateau/Mt. Royal, Mile End, and Little Italy. Upon check-in, I was greeted with a complimentary upgrade (do sign up in advance for their Iprefer rewards program)....room was huge and was a corner room with nice wrap around windows with views and plenty of sunlight. Very comfortable bed and nice rain shower. Front desk staff was most hospitable and helpful with restaurant and sightseeing suggestions, I did not eat at the hotel (seemed a bit pricey), the gym is indeed small (however, the front desk worked out a special 2-day pass for $23 at the uber trendy and nice Mansfield Athletic Club located about a 15 minute walk away off of St. Catherine), and it's not a lively, busy lobby as is the case at some other hotels but I enjoyed that. Would stay here again on a return visit....check their website for specials and packages. read more

We stayed here for one night mid week. It was our first time in Montreal so we did not know what to expect. When we arrived, we noticed that parking was a challenge. We found a spot on the street, but was told by the front desk not to park on the street. Apparently you only option is the valet which is an extra $30. Check in was a breeze and the room was very comfortable. When we walked into the room, the TV was on with Classical music. The Nespresso machine was also a plus. Later in the evening, a thank you letter was dropped off. The only downside was that there was no tub in the room. Other than that, everything was good. Location was fine, everything for the most part was walking distance and about a 10 minute walk to the Notre-Dame and shops. read more

This was one of the most enjoyable hotel stays, and it really came down to the service. Yes, the hotel room was lovely and the location was perfect for exploring old Montreal, but it was really the small touches that made Hotel Gault stand out. From the moment we pulled up, confused about parking, the staff seemed genuinely interested in making us feel welcome. After a 5+ hour drive, the immediate offer of tea was particularly thoughtful. I was especially touched that the bartender, Ahmed, for asking if we'd ever been to Montreal and, upon realizing we had not, immediately pulled out a map and directed us to the key points of interest. The room itself was beautifully decorated with a simple design, but it was the soft classical music and fresh cookies that made the great first impression. After dinner, we stopped for some drinks and Ahmed expertly led us not only through the cocktail menu- which he designed- but also through some of the uncommon spirits in his bar (how do they get the pear in the bottle??? Come here and find out!) I have really never felt so well-cared for (in an unobtrusive way) at any hotel. I will definitely stay here again next time I'm in Montreal. read more

Lovely Hotel. Centrally located boutique hotel in the old quarter of Montreal. Friendly staff, tastefully designed, and big rooms with a super comfy bed. Neither my wife or I heard any hotel noise from other guests while we were there. Our room had two large operable windows which we opened to enjoy the fresh air. The staff left cookies for us every night with turn down service. And for those guests that wanted a workout, they had a very serviceable training room with free weights. I took away a star for the tiny bar and the lack of food options. I think they did serve breakfast, but I'm not 100% sure. In any case, i'd easily stay here again. read more

I would give negative 100 stars if I can. I paid $3,000 for a room over the weekend for 2020 formula 1 races. The race was cancelled and country was closed. I asked for a refund or for me to be able to reserve the hotel for the same event in 2022 (2021 event was closed and country still closed). Both Expedia and the hotel blames the other on rules and they would not speak with me 3 ways. For SERVICES NOT AVAILABLE and NOT PROVIDED I was stolen $3,000. I would not reserve this hotel. Really not happy with the management. I got charged an extra 50$ at check out so I asked for the Manager but he was not around I then called twice as I was asked to do but manager was never available and never returned my calls but hotel charged my card the extra 50$ despite the fact the front desk girl said my card wont be charged until the manager gets back to me. Wow --- what a terrible experience! my boyfriend and I arrived in Montreal hoping to find Hotel Gault to be a complete gem-- especially after reading so many positive reviews, but our experience was completely awful. Before checking in, we drove around the neighborhood to get a feel for the area, and Hotel Gault was about 7 blocks away from the main thick of old Montreal, so not really "walking distance" in frigid temps, but possibly in the summer. This wasn't a big deal for us... we could always hail a cab. Pulling up to the hotel was quite strange-- and there is no clearly defined area for valet or anything. My boyfriend had to have me pull to the curb so he could go in and ask where the paid parking or valet were; surprisingly my boyfriend and valet guy quickly returned and took care of the car and luggage. Proceeding to check in (Woo Hoo! Almost home free after 6 hours of driving from Toronto). The woman checks us in -- and clearly she had been there a while -- she explained to us that if we wanted to add an additional night to our stay, she could accommodate us but we couldn't be in the same room due to availability-- Totally cool ~ We only booked one night and paid for the double upgrade to the Deluxe Suite, with the King bed and awesome soaking tub. We figured we would stay one night and add another if we loved it. This is when it gets bad... The valet guy showed us to our room... room 260. We get to our room and immediately knew something was amiss. The room was not what we had paid for -- it featured a queen sized bed and no tub... My guy, clearly irritated told the valet guy that we paid for an upgrade 2 levels above this room. The valet guy then told us that not all rooms have tubs.... "We know, which is why we paid for a deluxe suite," my boyfriend explained. Anyway, the valet said he would have the front desk call us when he got back downstairs. The front desk calls and my boyfriend spoke with her and when he complained that this wasn't the room we had paid fo,r she said that this was the only room they had left. Basically we paid an extra $80 or so for an upgrade and they were just going to pocket the cash and put us in a room 2 levels below what we had booked. I understand that overbooking and double bookings happen, but not telling a patron when they're checking in that the suite they had booked wasn't available; then putting them in whatever lower-level room they had left and would be pocketing the extra cash is just really dishonest. Very bad business ethics. Needless to say we had to go through a whole debacle with Expedia and cancel our reservation (Which is like a 30 min process, as there are no cancellations or refunds unless there are special circumstances). Midway through the cancellation with Expedia on the phone, the front desk woman calls up and speaks directly to me. She offered a consolation and explained that if we stay in their "standard" room tonight, that her manager has given her clearance to give us this same "standard" room tomorrow for $199 a night ($100 off). No thanks!! In summary: #1: What kind of establishment allows a guest to pay for a suite w/ a king bed and soaking tub then puts them in a queen room with no tub -- What kind of business just allows guests to pay for the upgrades and takes their money without any explanation at check-in? #2: Take a good look at the photos I've loaded -- The bedside tables were both wobbly -- a trolly bar cart for a TV stand, and a very flimsy fiberboard faux wall unit. I also couldn't help but notice the melted phone -- it was kind of gross... I'm not gonna lie. #3: The location isn't really ideal-- too far to walk to new Montreal and too far to walk to Old Montreal in cold weather (maybe OK in the summer) #4: The lobby was so sterile -- no warmth whatsoever. Looks like you're walking into an upscale doctors office or something. Again I understand that sometimes over-booking and mistakes can happen; but a five star establishment would have immediately apologized and handled the situation with haste and grace. First time in Montréal and I had the pleasure of visiting Hotel Gault. I didn't stay here but the conference was held here in their lobby. Its a boutique hotel located in Old Montréal. The interior style was modern with a twist of nineteenth century architecture. The exposed brick in the individual rooms were awe inspiring. Something out of a movie scene. The hotel is updated but you can feel the history in the air. If you drive by, you almost miss it. At least I did several times but the street is only so big. I'm used to huge American signs and awnings. This place is very true to the cities style. The name is very subtle on the side of the building. However, the inside makes a statement. The staff was very friendly and helpful when asked about restaurant suggestions. I would like to stay here on my next visit. read more

You know how some places are almost perfect Hotel Gault is an almost perfect. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They made our dinner reservations and suggested a great bar for us to go to nearby. The bar and restaurant suggestion was excellent. They brought up fresh baked cookies after check in. The downside is just my opinion. They are currently located in the middle of quite a bit of construction. They can't help that, but it does make it harder to get there by car. It is easy walking distance to Old Town Montreal and the room was very quiet. read more

Minimalist guest rooms are appointed with European designer furnishings, such as Artemide bedside lamps. Cabinetry was custom made for this property. Ingo Maurer lighting is found in the lobby. Design details matter here. Lastly, from a hospitality angle, Hotel Gault has an extremely helpful concierge team, and they always make sure our stay in Montréal is the best possible (they know the restaurant scene inside and out, and will easily get you into the best restaurants possible, sometimes, with little or no notice). read more

We loved staying here... I cannot say enough good things about the service! They could not be more accommodating! Normally we are not high maintenance guests, but this trip was different. We were packing in a lot of fun in a short time... When we checked in, they had already upgraded us. Lovely. (Thank you!) We had a number of special requests: - would they store our Easter Basket so our son won't see it - would they decorate our room for someone's birthday and have a dessert with candles (as a surprise) - would they make us brunch with the bagels we picked up at Fairmont bagels Of course there were normal things like: room service, dinner reservations, directions, etc. All done with enthusiasm and a desire to help. One night we had friends over to the hotel... We hung out in the back lobby by the fireplace. So cozy; like being in your living room. Our brunch: One morning we Ubered to Fairmont Bagels, ordered, and then Ubered back. Fairmont is a small bagel shop, only take cash, and they don't make sandwiches. When we returned to The Gault, we gave them our bagels, and they made us a lovely spread... Salmon, capers, pickled onions, cucumbers, choice cream cheese, freshly squeezed oj, cappuccino, homemade jams, traditional eggs... So fantastic and something for everyone. Ps. The Gault had the same bagels. So u don't have to take the uber rides unless u want the full experience. (Lol) Service is so spectacular!!! My son didn't miss having a hotel with a pool for a minute. In addition, the hotel is perfectly located to get to most things easily by either walking or a short uber ride. read more

#2 hotel in Montreal on TripAdvisor, and with good reason. Location, ambiance, service. After having walked through Vieux Montreal and assessing the locations of other potential hotels to choose from, Hotel Gault wins hands down for it's proximity to the old city, while being on a very quiet side street, well away from the tourist crowds. The decor is modern minimalist, somewhat at odds with it's Second Empire massive exterior. The king bed sat on a low pedestal - somewhat firm, but offering a great night's sleep. The sliding pocket door on the bathroom was probably the only jarring aesthetic element- listening to that thing groan every time I rolled it shut was slightly annoying, harshing my vibe. And service? Wow. Just wow. We stowed our suitcase until the room was ready. When we returned, they'd dropped the bag in our room. Classical music was playing via the cable box, cookies and a welcome note were awaiting us. After we ambled out for dinner, lights were on for us, the music back on, and bottles of water placed on our nightstands. The front desk clerk walked us outside, the better to direct us to the currency exchange. I'd come back again and again if I could. My only negative is the parking is a bit steep ($36 CDN) vs. nearby 24 hour rates of $18 CDN - but good luck finding your way through the maze of one way streets to find one of those lots. read more

Prior to arrival, I had emailed regarding questions which were promptly answered. If you need a small empty fridge, you are outta luck as they don't provide this. They can store some items in their fridge, if you'd like though. To print boarding passes, we emailed them our passes. Seems a bit of a hassle since they didn't have a printer for the computer in the lobby but concierge brought it up promptly! At arrival, you are greeted by concierge asking if you'd like complimentary water, tea, or coffee. Upon entry, I love how on the study desk, there were cookies + a card addressed to me waiting! Never had a hotel done this for us! We stayed at Room 310, a corner loft. No upgrades unfortunately since the hotel was supposedly sold out although it didn't seem like it to me. The room itself was nice/clean. I loved the decor - exposed brick, tiled bathroom! Room has free (fast) wifi, a nespresso machine, fully stocked mini bar, DVD player, an extendable mirror in bathroom and best of all - heated bathroom floor! Felt so nice! The view from this room was nothing special but I did love how much light floods the room. The area near Gault was quiet/ away from the hustle and bustle. I appreciate that especially after a busy day. Not too far from the metro and restaurants! Service - everyone at the hotel was friendly and said hi or opened doors for us. We never had to wait too long for our room service or ice. Ask and you shall receive! The weird thing was that the fire alarm went off while we were in the room and so we went downstairs to the lobby but nobody said a thing about it. We were waiting to get the OK to go back to the room but we went back up after seeing a couple return to their room. Overall, I'd recommend this hotel if you don't want to be too close to the center of all the mayhem. read more

Heads up for travelers hoping to get a good nights sleep... there is a disco/club very near (a couple doors over) from Hotel Gault that dumps drunk, noisy patrons out onto the street at 3am, Wednesday- Sunday. If you're staying in a street room (I was in 150) be prepared to be woken up. 3am-4am, yelling, screaming, singing, etc. my husband wondered aloud if there was a riot happening. We stayed one night at this lovely boutique hotel in Vieux-Montéal. Hôtel Gault is tucked away in a quiet little area in the middle of everything. The service was outstanding. We received a free upgrade when we checked in, and warm cookies were brought up to welcome us. Our room was very large and well laid out, with lots of storage and closet space. It was so blissfully quiet. The weather was gorgeous, so I was delighted to learn that the windows open! There was a huge soaking tub sized for two (with foaming body wash provided) - perfect for my husband and I after the long train ride from Québec City. The shower was also heavenly - incredible water pressure and the shower head was high enough to make my 6'3" husband happy. But only 2 Towels (though they were big and fluffy), 2 hand towels, 2 wash cloths (no extras, but I'm sure we could have gotten more had we been motivated to call down). Breakfast was magnifique! I would come just for breakfast even if I weren't staying at the hotel. What I didn't love is that there are not coffee/hot tea makers in the rooms. I didn't think to check before we retired and they didn't let me know when we were checking in, so I didn't make other arrangements for my morning caffeine delivery system (room service); not a great way to start my morning. But they were so awesome in the lobby - clearly accustomed to addicts stumbling, grumbling and barking as they emerge from the elevator needing their morning fix - strong black tea was quickly placed in my hand, followed by huge, thick-doesn't-even-begin-to-describe-it, Texas-would-be-embarrassed, maple syrup marinated slabs of bacon. After that start, I was ready to face anything the day could bring! There were two other things I didn't love. The first was that the window coverings are perfect for the decor, but they do not block out the beautiful night lightscape (Montreal's Plan Lumière), which appears to turn off only after the sun comes up. Thinking I had overslept, I was continually waking and checking the time on my phone. I could not stay here again without a sleep mask. The second was that the bed was just okay, not very comfortable. It's unfortunate that not all upscale hotels, at a minimum, use thick, plush mattress covers. One final thing to note is that if you have mobility issues that make stairs difficult, this may not be a good hotel choice; you will have to climb stairs to enter the hotel. The staff is wonderful about quickly running out to greet you and carrying all of your items up the stairs for you, but you will have to make your way up several steps. read more

The Gault is a wonderful destination. My fiance and I stayed for Valentine's day weekend 2012. We picked what could have been one of the coldest weekends all winter to visit Montreal, but due to the cozy warmth of our home-away-from-home at the Gault we felt so comfortable! The room was lovely, we had a loft basic package and really enjoyed the heated floor and cute door overlooking the street. The bed is super soft and really a nice complement to the modern look of the room. There's turn down service and cookies provided daily. The location of the hotel in Old Montreal could not have been better - it's perfect for walking through the area and very close to the waterfront. We took part in the spa package offered through the website with the Scandinavian baths and really enjoyed the experience. Our massages were great and the price was reasonable and cheaper than what we would have paid on our own. I emailed the concierge ahead of time to request a special wine and snack celebratory surprise for my fiance and they were so helpful. The entire request was provided to perfection and right on time. I would highly recommend working with the concierge as the recommendations for dinner and jazz club were completely on-point. I've given 4 stars instead of 5 for a couple of reasons: the price is still a bit high for what you get, the breakfast is not included in the room rate although we were told it would be upon check in, and the gym is adequate but quite small. read more

Our three-day stay in Montreal was really good because of the Hotel Gault. There are almost too many good things to list! The price is very affordable, they offer valet parking, the rooms are large and clean, they leave cookies in your room for you (!!!), the bed is comfy, they have a nice turn-down service, the staff makes GREAT recommendations for where to eat, and Ahmed the bartender/sommelier is AWESOME. Very friendly, and he will make you a great drink! A couple of (very small) potential cons to consider: it can get a little loud at night if you're facing the street, and the bathroom in our room was an open layout bathroom -- for a couple like us, it's not an issue, but I could see it being a problem if you're traveling with a friend. read more

My fiancé and I live in the US, and decided to get married in Montreal. We chose Hotel Gault in the heart of the old city for our stay. In order to be married, plans needed to be finalized in advance of our trip and Ahmed, the concierge, was thoughtful and attentive in helping us sort out and organize all the details. Then, from the moment we checked in, we were treated with warmth and courtesy by the entire Gault team. They made us feel welcomed and that it was important that our event be as beautiful as it could possibly be. The hotel itself is gorgeous, with a great blend of old elegance balanced with modern cool. The rooms are comfortable and chic. The location is PERFECT. We can't recommend the hotel highly enough, and can't wait to return yearly to celebrate our anniversary. read more

The room included breakfast, which was very tasty, and they hosted a complimentary cocktail hour. Also, the value for what we got was incredible - penthouse suite for about $230 a night USD. Great location, too - it's in Old Montréal, which is lovely to walk around, and not far at all from the subway to get around town. The staff were accommodating, helpful, and went well above and beyond. Not only did they make last minute reservations, offer (excellent) restaurant recommendations, and help us navigate the metro... When we told them that we were on a hunt for amazing and unusual bottled beer to bring back to Ontario, they got busy on the internet trying to find the best place in town for us to search. The location is great, in the heart of old Montreal (and my room had two big floor to ceiling windows that I could open and gaze out). The building is lovely, our room was immaculate, comfortable, clean, and creatively decorated, which is such a nice treat in a ritzy hotel. I adored every minute of my stay here. read more

Andres, I loved you! Without Andres, my stay would have been rather pedestrian. Yes, the Gault is well known for its award winning design, and may be unique in so many ways - I can't recall - to Montreal. BUT, aside from the architectural details and a comfortable bed, and the modern and brilliantly designed bathroom, the stand out feature of my stay was Andres, a concierge. He made my stay warm and inviting. Without him, it would likely have been just another brick and mortar experience with pleasant faces behind a desk. If only all hotels could be this quiet..... I took friends from the UK and sadly only had one night with them. We drove up from Woodstock VT where I co-own the Woodstocker inn...so I'm picky...and yet again the Gault came up trumps! I managed with the help of the door man to get the only free parking spot right outside of the hotel, and then found they had been kind enough to give me an upgraded room with a large tub....which was right up my alley as I love to sit in the bath! Again the place was quiet and this time I had a vibrating king bed....shame I had no one to share it with! So I was happy...and they make a bloody good cuppa..... I will return with someone next time as those vibrations need sharing!!!! read more

Absolutely loved staying here. Flew in for work and it was my first trip to Montreal. Not only was it less expensive than Marriott (usually stay at M for the points), but it was closer to what I would consider the more interesting part of Montreal. Extremely kind and pleasant staff, they shared with me all the areas I could and should go around the hotel. A short 3 minute walk to Saint Paul street and you are in the heart of Old Montreal. Shops and restaurants everywhere. A few more minutes and you are at the Notre Dam Basilica, an absolute must visit. Even though it was chilly out (mid November) it was worth walking just to see everything on foot. Now onto the hotel room and room service. My room was absolutely incredible. Very clean and well kept, but also very unique layout and design that was very pleasing. My terrace overlooked the city and was truly beautiful. The mattress was a little more firm than I am used to but I was still well rested when I woke up. From what I understand, each room is quite different so there are no two alike. Looking forward to coming back in a month or so to stay again. If you are looking to visit as a tourist, there are many attractions within a short walk. The biodome and a few others are only a short 20 minute cab ride. The hotel is well placed and worth the stay for sure. Enjoy! read more

Exquisite hotel located in Vieux (old) Montreal. The exterior is very historic although, the interiors are ultra hip. I absolutely loved the stained concrete throughout.. ... and the rooms are incredibly spacious, not to mention plush! If you're not planning on having a driver/cabby, everything is in close proximity of walking distance. Intimate lobby is filled with visually appealing magazines. Complete pleasure! read more

I loved Hotel Gault. Everything about it makes you feel like a celebrity taking a quiet weekend away. The staff is extremely accommodating and warm and the building is beautiful. We opted for a "corner loft" room and it was stunning; it was like staying in an apartment that you'd see in an interior design magazine. There were lots of special touches, too: classical music was playing when we entered the room; there were bathrobes and slippers; the shower products were lovely; and the bed (memory foam?) was so comfortable. Coffee in the lobby in the morning is convenient, inexpensive, and damn good. I would definitely stay here the next time I'm in Montreal. read more

Gorgeous hotel in the heart of Montreal. The hotel is sleek, modern, yet very comfortable. My room was spacious with a large working office area, big stand alone tub, cozy robes, slippers, lots of outlets, welcome cookies in my room and a nice view of gorgeous Montreal. The room was spotless and well put together. The staff were accommodating and very pleasant. I love a great hotel gym. This is not where you will find one. Two pieces of equipment and super tiny. Probably best to walk all over the city. I just wish I had more time here. Great spot. read more

Hotel Gault has a great location in Old Montreal (a five minute walk to the Square - Victoria Metro station). The building is elegant on the outside and contemporary/hip on the inside. The lobby is quite stark with a concrete floor and modern furniture. This contrasts with the warm and effusive staff members who are the antithesis of aloof hipsterness. They are full of local tips and genuinely show hospitality. The rooms are contemporary/hip, as well. This means concrete flooring with some short carpet and a flooring that looks like a modern woven plastic placemat, modern furniture, a futon style bed, and no cabinetry (wheeled shelving units). It can be a bit too clever: poor lighting, bathroom ergonomics that are troublesome, and a generally messy look. Housekeeping keeps the room clean, but is a bit lax on some details like glassware and tidying the place up. Breakfast is served in the lobby. Included in our room rate was a continental breakfast. Even though the place was generally empty, the service was excruciating slow, given that no cooking was required. We would have complained were it not for the delightful servers who always displayed a bit of quirky Franglish humor. The breakfast, itself was just fine. The room rates are pretty high, Montreal is not an inexpensive city. Stay there if you are looking for a design-oriented place and are willing to overlook some inconveniences. The staff will charm you. read more

Hotel Gault is by far the best boutique hotel I've ever stayed in. The service there was unbeatable. The moment I walked into the hotel, the staff already knew my name and that I had requested an early check in and late check out. They offered me a complimentary drink in their lobby bar/restaurant while they went upstairs to check the hotel room. The room itself was beautiful with high ceilings. Free wi-fi and cute location in old Montreal. I'd come back next time I go to Montreal. read more
