The Eliseo is a charming hotel right near the Domain. It feels a bit dated but that's part of its charm.
The very small elevators can fit four people (even though its posted capacity is 8). They take a very long time during high-traffic times to get to the lobby when you press the button. Some people just end up taking the stairs.
The bathrooms are small. The counter isn't very big. The shower is in the tub, which you'd have to climb up into it. It feels a bit precarious, the tub surface is slanted, and it could use more handle bars to help getting in and out. You'd need to be extra careful.
The food is repetitive; they should put more variety in their menu for pilgrimage groups. It's good for the first couple days, a bit tiring after that. The restaurants around here aren't very good either. But the prices are good -- the shops around the Domain don't price gouge.
It is near the entrance to the Domain. The Saint Joseph Gate is four blocks away. The Saint Joseph Gate opens at 5AM, and you'll enjoy taking an early morning stroll there by yourself. read more
