Small rooms, thin walls, your neighbors will complain if you watch TV. No air conditioning. Inconsistent internet will prevent you from accomplishing much online. I suggest elsewhere for your hotel needs. read more

Which I have never had as I easily walk across the street for morning walks and grab something small, eat less, and pay less, while getting some fresh air. The hotel staff are all very professional and helpful. The rooms are decorated in more classic styles and the lighting in bathrooms are excellent. The amenities are adequate, you also get your bedding turned in the evening and more or less feel you are pampered! I loved my lakeside view room back in the last summer. Bigger room as well as the one I just had last week.

The included breakfast is just what is needed to start your work day, although the 'scrambled' eggs could have been done a bit more, which is to my liking. I also had a couple of beers in the bar and dinner one night. The food in the restaurant was excellent and service was also exceptional. The hot foie gras appetizer rivals others I have had in Paris, the white truffle risotto special was truly the best thing I have tasted in many trips to Europe and the several mini-tastes of appetizers and chocolates for dessert, which were included in the meal where all quite delicious.

The views from the rooms to the lake are exceptional, rooms are fully updated and modern. They have a look and feel of a five start hotel in the US. And certainly over the top for Europe. The staff are very nice and the breakfast included in my corporate rate is well above average. The dinners are pricey and as served are a bit to fancy for my taste - little taste portions but I am never full!!! I got an automatic upgrade using my checkin to the executive suite which was absolutely a pleasant surprise and made my stay so much nicer. Wish it was summer time thou!!!

Hôtel Touring au Lac
I moved to this hotel from one of its sister hotels in La Chaux de Fonds at the recommendation of a…read morecolleague that had recently stayed here. The hotel itself is in a really great area, right on the lake with magnificent views depending on where your room is located. I was in Room 201 which was a corner room with perfect views of the marina and lake. While I was pleased to be able to obtain a room with air conditioning during one of the hottest weeks of the year, I was disappointed that the a/c would not go below 24 degrees celcius. I ended up emailing the hotel staff and they did correct it the next day. After the 2nd night, however, the a/c would start to make loud squeaking noises during the night which caused me to have to turn it off. The room itself was spacious with a comfortable queen size bed. I was definitely not pleased with the shower as it was very narrow and the shower curtain would end up sticking itself to you. I'm all for exercise and I didn't mind having to go up and down 2 flights of stairs each day for 6 days as the lift was broken, but I didn't enjoy having to carry my 60lb luggage down the stairs. Perhaps just really bad timing on the lift breaking but it was down for several days and not sure how many more even after I checked out. The hotel was just ok. Wasn't really a fan and I'm not sure that I would stay here again even though I will have to visit the area again for work in the very near future.

Very helpful staff. I prefer a quieter room, so pick one on the city side if you would like your windows open. While beautiful on the lake side, they are directly on the main walking path and near several good restaurants that are open until 10 with an open patio beneath the windows. Else enjoy the city and the people. Definitely will be my go-to hotel in the area. Easy to access the shopping district, a variety of restaurants from Swiss fare, to sushi, Italian, and pub food. A broad range of price tags for the high end to the economical.

I try to explore different parts of this wonderful country with each trip and one of the most wonderful experiences was my last visit to Switzerland from which I have just come back. I stayed at the Hotel Palafitte which is located on the lakefront of the beautiful lake Neuchatel and the experience of living here was wonderful beyond words. There is something special about this place that filled me with so much drive and energy. I usually like to visit a new place every time but this is one place that I will definitely visit again.
