Everyone was polite, friendly, and accommodating, and gave us free champagnes on the rooftop lounge while waiting for our room, and when we got to our rooms, it was fresh and clean. Room service was so fast, readied in 20 minutes, where we ordered truffle cod, risotto, pizza and fries. They also gave us a large basket of bread, as it is a must in France, and every condiment possible. I could have been full with just the bread basket and all the butter. Everything was fresh and delicious. Reception was fast to check us in and out, the concierge was helpful in recommending and booking a lunch at the Tahiti, after learning that we like somewhere calm and good for swimming. The hotel shuttle took us to the beach, free of charge, and on return, we didn't have our phone, so the Tahiti restaurant happily called the hotel shuttle for us, the shuttle driver also walked all the way inside the restaurent to look for us. Everything was perfect! The drivers are so well dressed and nice. It was just the 2 of us in the shuttle, felt like a private luxury experience. Also, you don't want to drive in Saint Tropez. It's a nightware and parking is impossible. I loved the hotel beach bag, and ask the receptionist for it. It was price at €20, and she just gave it to me for free. That was so nice of her.

We stayed here in August and I was pleasantly surprised. The rooms have been remodeled and have…read moremodern bathrooms. They are quite large for Europe. We had our own patio with lounge chairs that was quite private. The gym had great machines and the breakfast buffet was lovely. We had lunch by the pool one day and the food was good albeit very expensive. The location is great as it's right off the place des lices and it's easy to walk to the port and all the shopping in St. Tropez. They offer free shuttles to the beaches during the summer, which is a huge plus. The club, la cave, at the bottom of the hotel, is a great place to go for a night of dancing. I'm giving them four stars as they did not honor our virtuoso amenities (free breakfast and an upgrade) and also the prices are quite high for the quality of the rooms. I think many older hotels in Europe get away with crazy prices for their reputation more than the quality of the rooms.

Sophisticated Cuisine in a Peaceful Setting…read more Le Clos Pierrepont is located 10 miles North of Draguignan, near the very scenic village of Chateaudouble. You must go walk the narrow streets of Chateaudouble before or after your meal at Le Clos! The restaurant is set in a nice older house recently renovated; there is also a hotel but I have not checked the rooms. The cuisine is very sophisticated yet quite approachable: the food is recognizable and the prices adequate. We sat outside on what has been the hottest day of the year so far - or at least it seemed to be. There was a pleasant breeze that made it comfortable. We had drinks first while we perused the menu. There is a good choice including 4 prix fixe menus ranging from 30 to 75 Euros. The wine list is extensive with selections from reasonable to expensive. Two of us chose the Menu Saveur at 42 Euros while the 3rd guest went with a single entrée, in that case the Ris de Veau. We were all offered a mise en bouche (an oyster with meat). The ris de veau was excellent (I know: I stole a piece from my wife's plate). For appetizers, the menu offered a tomatoe-based dish which was original and tasty or a Porcelet, also excellent. The main dishes were the fish (Maigre) served in filet in a delicious sauce and the duck in a blackcurrant reduction. Both were quite tasty and unique though the duck was a bit firm. The Menu Saveur included all three desserts - for each person. See photo. We had a bottle of Rose - Chateau des Sarrins which was very smooth. The service was good and professional, a bit on the slow side but not frustratingly so. Overall, it was probably the best meal we have had so far during this trip. We will be back.

Tiara is a fantastic place to relax and reset. The rooms were spacious, and we sprung for one with a patio that overlooked the water, which was well worth it. All that said, the restaurant food wasn't up to snuff, especially compared to the rest of the resort, so that was a big letdown.
