Le Pigonnet - Depressing white walls with cheap curtains. Their website shows luxurious wall papers with beautiful decorations. Lies!

Apparently, based on a review days ago, the air conditioning was out. I stayed there September 12 and 13 of 2025 and the air conditioning was still not functioning. The staff at the front desk acted like it was a surprise the air was out. My husband asked for a fan which they did provide. The problem with the fan was that we needed to prop it in front of the windows to get the cool air in. At night time, there was loud music and bass playing. In order to sleep we needed to shut the windows, but couldn't because we roasted in the room. The bed in the room was the hardest mattress I have ever slept on and could not get a good nights sleep. The hotel itself is cute and quaint with nice furniture. There was more to be desired with the free breakfast. The coffee was not great and there wasn't a lot of good options in my opinion. My mother in law, father in law, and husband sat in the bar area. The bartender was there yet they had waited 15 initial minutes to get service/drinks/food. The place wasn't super busy so I was surprised that service was not top notch. The hotel says they are a five star establishment and at most they are a 2 or 3 star. Lastly, my husband and I laid out at the pool for a few hours. We ended up falling asleep on the chairs and woke up to a lot of bites all over our bodies. The hotel may need some bug control especially in the garden and pool area for no-seeums. I would not recommend this hotel to stay at nor would I stay here again.

Le Pigonnet is NOTHING LIKE WHAT'S PICTURED ONLINE!! The website is essentially fraudulent and…read moredeeply misleading. If only they could invest that same amount of time and money into the actual rooms. Located by a several block long mental institution, this hotel is a far walk from the city center and anything else of note in Aix. The walk into town is bleak and depressing, as the hotel is definitely located on the wrong side of town, and it is not safe to walk near the hotel after dark. The hotel room was incredibly small and looked like it belonged on a psych ward. For paying over $300 a night can I at least get a painting or decoration instead of bare white walls? And if you are over 5'4" using the shower will be deeply problematic. I could not fit inside it or raise my arms. Let's not forget my amazing view of the parking lot, complete with cars honking. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!! There are so many options in Aix, don't make the same mistake I did.

We had such a delightful stay at this Marriott property! In fact, on this European adventure…read moreconsisting of 3 countries and 3 Marriott properties in 2 different countries, each has been spectacular! So much better than some of the best experiences we've had at Marriott properties in the US! Each location has provided great service, great concierge suggestions, assistance, and guidance and nicely maintained rooms and property. Check-in was a smooth and very helpful experience... It was provided by a pleasant gentleman who was efficient and provided all the information we needed to know about the property, spa, and restaurant. We were upgraded to a nice king room with a balcony on the top floor, which was very nice. The room was large enough for our 4 larger pieces of luggage to be open, to live from, while still offering hanging space inside closets. The bathroom area was interesting, but what was odd was that they never gave us new bar soap... why?!? We heard from others we knew staying here who had this same issue, even after asking for a replacement. Otherwise, housekeeping did a nice job keeping the room fresh and stocked during our stay. Plus, they offer turndown service. The two concierge were worked with were outstanding! One was a lady, the other was Saif. She offered a great suggestion for dinner on our first night (it was Le Ramus). Saif was outstanding, as he went out of his way to help us find affordable ways to get to/from Marseille one of our day trips and then to the airport on our last day to fly out. The car service they provide is excellent as well and cheaper than the rates I got form Uber! If you are looking to book a trip to Aix-en-provence, stay here and contact Saif ahead of time and he will not only put together an amazing itinerary for you, he'll book all your reservations (all that's he able) too! He has a lengthy and very knowledgeable background about most all of Europe and this can be very helpful when planning your visit!! The property is located within a few minutes walk of the bus depot in one direction, and the Rotunde in the old, historic city area, in the opposite direction. There are many shops and amazing cafés, restaurants in the older district, definitely check it out! There are many places to stop and dine, as well and top level shopping all very close! They have a big pool, which looks nice, a spa, and a couple of places to eat on property as well. We would most definitely return and stay here again!

In customer service roles, regardless of whether you're right or wrong, you should listen to what the guest is trying to explain and clarify. It's unacceptable to talk and fly at the same time and sighing in front of guest face. I don't know his name, and when I asked him, he refused to tell me.
