The entire side of the building lined with elephants parading! The detail was great- the black, white and gray tones give a sense that the mural has been there for a while, not sharp contrasts like some other murals- but a artistic grace that feels timeless. There seems to be a strong catholic presence in the area. There are lots of small shops throughout the area, in great variety. I really like the concept of building art, which helps to alleviate buildings that might be considered eyesores. This concept also, serves to give artist a place to showcase their talents, as well as offer representation of the cultures in the area. Really provides inspiration on many fronts. The city is quite large it has give zip codes. It also has a lot of protected lands/ parks/ reservation and a fabulous stretch of beautiful coast that houses its beaches. We didn't know what to expect so when we arrived at 3:30, knowing they were closing at 4, we assumed we'd be passing through quickly. Very true...but only because it's so very small! We were only in for probably 15 minutes and covered it all. Open weekends only. Entry is $5 pp and parking is 50 cents an hour. Interesting, but I wouldn't go out of the way for such a brief experience.

We had a group of 4 and everyone Loved the tour. My family has been coming to Salem for the last Ten years , and we have done many tours throughout the years . This tour was refreshing and different than the other tours. They brought up many new historical points of interest. We would highly recommend it. The group size was limited , unlike other tours in Salem which sometimes have 40 or 50 people. I felt it was very personal and interactive. Well worth the ticket price .

I've been here many times, and I can recommend 2 pizza places up here as well, and a roast beef spot, as this part of Boston is famous for its Roast Beef sandwiches, made in a style that only Boston makes them. The Duchovny movie (with Demi and Amber in it) was filmed in this town... The Joneses. They also have the Iron Works here, the first one in the US. And it's close to a lot of heavenly beaches, the likes of which you'd never know Boston had, unless you know, and visit for yourself.
