Oh no! What's happened?!? This has been a favorite destination of ours for years, however, on our visit today it had obviously suffered a "rebrand". They seem to have tidied up (not necessarily a bad thing) and turned it into a showroom, but in the process halved the stock and multiplied the prices by a substantial random factor. $200 for some old bunting? $170 for a tin can? $150 for a toy scout car (yours for ~$20 online BTW...) Sadly, no, not for us. Good luck to them but I'm not sure we'll be back until we see some fun stuff back on the porch again. Ho hum :( read more

There is a big selection of vintage jewelry and furniture. There are many sections/booths with a variety of memorabilia/antiques/vintage m/luxury items. The staff was willing to answer questions and help with retrieving items from locked cabinets. Overall I would say the prices were on the high side, but fair based on how unique or rare the item was. read more

Another surprise find - we were searching another antique shop, only to find that it was closed. Then we passed by this one - it's not even on Google map! It's one of the biggest antique shops we've ever visited, and one can spend quite some hours going through the large selections. Prices are on the higher side, but some vendors put their merchandise on sale with a good percentage discount. We went home with a box of English fine bone china again, including a Royal Worcester egg coddler in its original box. The young cashier didn't know what it was - alas! he was too young to understand what proper and elegant dining ware people used in the old days ;-) read more

This spot gets some amazing finds and the staff are phenomenal and ready to help with that awkward question " can you do better on the price". Honestly today was the first time in my life I've ever asked that question. And the woman behind the counter was encouraging that I do cause you never know. I stopped by after having breakfast next door. There was a lot of beautiful antiques and a lot of vintage knickknacks. The real jewelry made me sad because it was out of my budget. There were a lot of amazing pieces. Overall the prices were high but there were some more reasonably priced items, just look around. We went into the Antiques Center trying to locate some artwork that we had seen over the weekend in anticipation of purchasing it. We were shadowed by a sullen gray haired woman who followed us for the entire time, never speaking a word and just scowling at us. I want to lie and say it's terrible so we can keep all the great finds to ourselves!!! It was AWESOME!! So much larger than expected. Layout is odd, but surely it's due to the existing old building design. Adds to the charm. The stock is a bit of everything - we bought a vintage drawing, necklace (birthday !!) and an unusual old bottle. Folks working the store were equally as wonderful and welcoming. A very spacious antique shop. I bought a Bacardi and rum pitcher and a little cat shaped shelf for my cook books. They have vintage clothes and purses also. I think is worth walking around. We didn't go with the plan to buy anything but my mil did and she found what she was looking for. read more

This is my favorite antiques store in the Hudson Valley. I've been coming here for many years. There are so many vendors that it's hard to not find something you like. I do wish, however, that the staff at the front desk were friendly. The older woman always is, but the younger one's chance of making small talk or God forbid, say thank you for supporting her, is nil. read more

Wow! Wow! Wow! After traversing the Hudson Valley for a weekend antiquing we discovered the Hyde Park antique center. Our only regret is that we didn't discover it sooner as their selection of vendors and merchandise as well as their pricing is hands-down, the best in the Hudson Valley. My husband was ecstatic over the collection of Dinky cars and I was in heaven with the incredible selection of vintage Pyrex. The staff was informative, cheerful and helpful and even stayed late to accommodate us. I highly recommend!!! read more

I was visiting the area for an appointment and decided to check out the Hyde Park Antiques Center while I was there. I figured I'd make the best of my hour and a half drive. I am a collector of both vintage glass and antique lamps so I frequent antique centers while traveling. Not only does it seem every vendor there is overpriced for an antique center, when I did finally find an item I thought was worth the price the staff member took it from me quickly to wrap it up and when I got home and unpacked my item it was missing pieces to complete the set! The same staff member was also busy on a personal call, sitting on the stairs as I was attempting to go up to the second level. She didn't even acknowledge me. I had to ask her to please move. I do not recommend this place and will never return. read more

As beautifully laid out as this antiques store was, I couldn't get over the steely, standoffish attitude of the person/s working the front counter. The staff seems to be comprised of senior citizens, which is perfectly fine in my book because I'm practically a senior myself - it's just the snooty behavior is so unbefitting. At the end of my transaction, the woman at the register handed me change then stood there talking to someone out of sight (?) while holding on to my receipt for an eternity. I finally gave up and left without bothering with it because it felt creepily like a calculated gesture. *shrugs* ***** 5 stars for the layout and cleanliness of the store. You have to visit their clocks room, it is amazing to hear hundreds of vintage clocks wound up and ticking away. Lots and lots of little quality treasures like jewelry, knickknacks, dishware, books, furniture. There are many affordable items and no smelly nor musty odors. It is also brightly lit and the floors well swept. * 1 star for the contemptuous attitude. read more

I'm not in the habit of writing reviews, but due to the unbelievably rude treatment I, my boyfriend and his sister received when we visited recently, I feel compelled. I absolutely adore antiques and vintage items, in fact it is my business, as a dealer and seller with my own established online retail operation, so I was naturally excited to see what could be found here. From the moment the three of us entered we were treated with contempt by the employees. We are all young and in our later 20's which should be no reason to be looked down upon for wanting to do a little weekend treasure hunting. We were followed throughout the store as we looked around as though we were common criminals. At one point one of the proprietors in a very nasty tone approached me and asked "What exactly are you looking for?" I replied "I'm just looking." She then took it upon herself to point out where I could find the "Cheapo stuff." I could not believe the gall of this individual. The final insult came at the register (yes, that's right-in spite of the rude treatment, we did find things we loved and gave them our business). When I presented my credit card to the troll like woman behind the register she balked and asked me why it was not signed on the back and then requested I bring in some form of id. RIGHT, because every credit card thief immediately high tails it for their local antiques center. When I came back in with my passport she snarled "Ohhhh so you don't have a license. You only have a passport?" I'm not sure why that would be an inadequate form of identification considering that the employees of the state department are likely more qualified than those at your local DMV, but nevertheemind. Scoffing at us as we left-we vowed never to return. And though we all came away with exciting new purchases the entire experience was so rude and unpleasant that we will NEVER go back. read more

This place is a total ripoff. They have a very large selection..but WAY, WAY, WAY overpriced. Just because something is old or..'Antique'.. doesn't mean you have to wack people over the head with the prices. There is no room for haggling or reasoning in this place. I've yet to find anyone with a sense of humor or capable of having a conversation without looking directly down their nose at me. I've found items here that were much, much, much cheaper in other upstate NY antique stores. Perhaps it's the area this place is located in or the proximity to Westchester / CT that drive up prices to a ridicules level. Every time I gave this place another chance I've found the dealers to have always had that 'special' kinda arrogance reserved for pompous. Don't get me wrong, i'm willing to pay for a unique or pristine item if the nature or rarity of that item demands it. Only three days before I mad several high end purchases, however... these people are kidding, the market value on everything I was interested in far exceeds eBay or comparable antique centers on the west side of the Hudson River. Going back again?...I think...not, the three chances I gave this place were two chances to much! read more

We've gone to the center many times and have never encountered anyone there who has been anything but friendly -- until the other week, when a salesperson by the name of Lloyd "helped" us -- begrudgingly, rudely, clearly not interested at all in our patronage of the store. The staff were friendly, knowledgable, and one staff member took me to different booths that had the items I was seeking. Also the Center was well lit and clean with no musty smell. I am going back today because although i bought a lot of treasures, i left one there last time. The store is very well organized, clean and contrary to the reviews below, i had nothing but a lovely time with the staff. They were helpful (so helpful and friendly and chatty) that we spent some time learning from each other about the nuances of 18th century European pottery. The selection of items is staggering to say the least, from small advertising give aways to important pieces of furniture. This is now one of my favorite antique stores. The prices were very fair and i was given a discount on some items. What more can you want? read more
