We had such a great experience here recently. We were visiting for a baseball tournament. We had a double queen room for us and our two little kids. Perfect amount of space. We loved the pool! So much fun. I also use the gym. The breakfast was top notch. Large variety of fresh and delicious food. I was actually very impressed with it. The coffee though was terrible. However, they serve starbucks at their bar which is also a nice touch. We were able to get some drinks to sip on at the pool. The staff is incredible. Super friendly and helpful. Every time we came in from games they were so welcoming. It was a very memorable. We really liked how close this is to the interstate, and to the lenexa city center. We walked over there twice for food and drinks and to stretch our legs. Definitely would come stay here again. read more

While the service people are awesome and some of the amenities are nice. We had an added $15 fee until we left and still haven't been returned. The room was a handicapped room when I picked a normal room. The beds and pillows were so soft and couldn't even sleep. They need more trash cans and they had no cups next to the bathroom. Could use an extra blanket if someone needed it. The breakfast was good but needed more variety and the microwave in the main area is a pain. Should have one in each room. The roundabouts to get into the area and parking lot are extreme. read more

I recently stayed here for a few days for a training class being held nearby. The hotel was clean and the staff were all polite. The room was a good size and had a comfortable sofa in it. The bed was on the firm side, firmer than I like. The bathroom was ok but the placement of the sink and toilet ended up with me cutting my foot on the sharp metal edge of the vanity since it was lifted up higher than it should have been. Otherwise it was a nice stay. I'd stay again if I was in the area and needed to though I'd inquire if I could get an extra duvet to pad the bed. read more

This is the perfect place to say if you want quiet and relaxation. You don't have the hustle and bustle of a stay in downtown KC but you are close to restaurants and some walkable. It is so cute and has a delicious breakfast that truly surprised me for a hotel. I would definitely go back. read more

I know the hotel business is not easy. I speak from experience travelling the world. Overall, the customer service in the US is so low so low that's it's shameful to have this in a so called 'developed' country. This hotel however stood out. I'm a Globalist but have been treated with absolute disrespect and been spoken to just plain rudely and in many instances condescending way so in the US, my expectations are super super super low. This was a pit stop for us for the night on our way from Denver to Chicago (yeah, we took the long route as I had to have the Kansas City bbq). It was over the 4th of July weekend and the weather from Denver itself was bad. My wife was not feeling the best and I knew this will be a loooooong drive as compared to any other day. I had booked a non refundable rate but still reached out to the hotel (didn't share anything about my status) and asked if there was any possibility to reschedule it for the next day should my wife not feel better. I forget the name of the person I spoke to since it's been 3 weeks now (shame on me) but she was one of the nicest person I've spoken to at a Hyatt Place in the United States. She went above and beyond and said they would be able to accommodate my request. I ended the call saying I will give my wife 2 hours to see how she feels before I make the decision and will reach out. She said she's there till 3 so that will not be a problem. I was now debating if I should drive in the weather (hailing, then rain, then hail again then sunshine then rain again). My wife started feeling better so we decided to leave. This person at the hotel proactively reached out to me at 2:45 to confirm and said if she doesn't hear back, they will assume I am coming but if not, I should call and let them know because that reschedule option is still on the table. This is customer service; really caring about your customer in a situation that the customer is trying to make the best of and the staff is trying to make that one thing less difficult for you. Thank you Hyatt Place; I'm so sorry I forgot your name but if you are reading this, you worked the phones on June 30. On our way, I knew we ain't making it before 2 am (time zone change plus the rains) so I called and spoke to the staff and they assured me that won't be a problem at all. We arrived and our keys were ready. I had already done an online check in so it was a breeze. The room as other reviews have said was immaculate. It was one of the cleanest Hyatt Place's I have stayed at in the US. I wish all the Hyatt Places would have this level of service and cleanliness. The staff was amazing. From greeting me when I walked in to looking for a jacket I lost and calling and leaving me a follow-up message. This hotel was clean, modern and comfortable. I thought breakfast was good, the bar had friendly servers and I couldn't hear my neighbor who threw a little after-party. I will definitely use this place next time I'm in the area. Hyatt Place was the location of a company two day meeting, with about 150 people for 2 nights. Throughout my stay, the staff I encountered were friendly, and the room was spacious and clean. I had breakfast from the lobby once, which was better than expected with fresh hot food coming out often, and a variety of cold things including yogurt and toppings that was my pick. We had catered meals for 4 of them, which were all quite good. The only issue encountered was for a friend/co-worker with a dairy allergy that couldn't be accommodated for one of the meals. However, I don't believe the Hyatt staff had been told ahead. A full bar and lobby would have been nice for our group, but there were some limited options. Overall, it met the needs with no issues for me. read more

I'll start with this hotel was clean & staff very friendly. Towels are in good condition. Mattress was very firm. 2 of 3 pillows were missing pillowcases. Shower head needs adjustment or replacement. Walls are thin enough to hear the next room. Highway noise was loud all night long!! Breakfast was not edible (powdered eggs, salty sausage) Checking out, there was a $2 charge for parking even though website says free parking. I will not be staying here again read more

Stayed this past weekend as a part of a wedding block. The rooms are incredibly spacious and the hotel feels almost brand new- it's really clean. The beds are SUPER comfy. They sell alcohol down at the front desk a long with snacks which was great. They have a pool and a fitness center- we didn't use but it seemed plenty of people did. Only knocking off a star for availability of extras- we forgot toothpaste but they had none downstairs. Also no mini body lotion in the restroom. Not a huge deal but have come to expect that. read more

Our home-away-from-home when we come to KC. I used to work in hotel management, so I'm rather picky now about where I stay. I'm one of those who actually does the white glove thing so I can tell if the place is clean, and I travel with disinfectant and paper towels. And the Hyatt Place in Lenexa is one of the few places I've ever stayed where I KNOW it is going to always be clean and always comfortable. The staff is friendly and efficient, and while the prices are just a wee bit high, we book carefully and always get a good deal. We actually quit shopping around for where to stay in KC and always come to Hyatt Place in Lenexa. It's in a safe area, and being right along the interstate, it's incredibly easy to get to anywhere in the metro from here. With Jack Stack BBQ being right next door, this all adds up to a completely wonderful part of our KC trips. read more

The location is fine for a traveler, and the rooms were well-appointed. The bed and couch were quite comfortable and the room was quite clean. However, breakfast was the worst that we have experienced: we had to eat a mediocre burrito on a foil wrap--no silverware or plates! There was no protein and everything was prepackaged (day-old muffins). This is what I would expect at a much-lower-priced hotel/motel. Covid was a great excuse to do away with amenities and real food. Hyatt needs to get back to pre-pandemic breakfasts. ALSO, there was a dog in the breakfast room, that a staff member (who was serving the burritos) was petting! Animals in the dining area are not acceptable. Does the Health Department okay this? Unfortunately, we were on the end of the hotel closest to I-435, so the highway noise was not conducive to a good night's sleep. If we had been on the other side of the hotel, we may have had a quieter room. Also, we were surprised to see a $3 per night charge for parking. We typically only pay for parking in downtown locations where parking is at a premium. There was a huge parking area at this location. read more

Christmas Night The front desk personnel was excellent. Went to the pool and it was closed at 9:30pm but the sign said it closes at 10:00pm. Little frustrating but not that big of deal. Therefore I went to the gym and it was really cold. Pool locked and gym cold so I didn't exercise. My son took a shower and discovered he used a towel with blood stains to dry off. I called the front desk and the guy apologized and brought up two clean towels. However, he place the clean towels on the floor in front of the room door knocked and took off. I thought it was unprofessional to put clean towels on the dirty hallway carpet especially considering I called the front desk because of dirty (bloody) towels. Hope the rest of my stay goes better. Woke up in the morning looking at a smug of white stuff on a decorative glass in the room. I call the front desk to clean the white smug. The next morning the smug was still there but smaller. Therefore, I spoke in person to the from desk person and they said they would ensure it was clean. The smug was still present the next morning but smaller. I met Mallory in the elevator and she asked me if the smug was cleaned. I explained it was still present. She followed me to the room to clean off the white smug. She was successful. While in the room I showed her the broken lock on the bathroom sliding door and the poor dry wall / paint job in the bathroom. She was surprised of the condition and put in a request to get the problems solved. Around 4pm a maintenance employee opened the room door without knocking on our door to repair the lock on the bathroom door. Once he saw me luring on the bed he was shocked and shut the door. He apologized for opening the door without knocking, he knew he had made a mistake. I opened the door for him to come back in the room to fix the door. He left saying the door was fixed. In a around 4:45pm I checked the door and it still did not lock. I then went to speak with the GM and that person already left for the day. I have one more night at this hotel. read more

YIKES! Can I give zero stars? You can reserve a room here but you aren't guaranteed the type of room. Just paid $266 for a specialty king and when we got up to our room we were stuck with two double beds and were told "sorry, you reserved a space not the type of room selection". Very misleading from the confirmation. Should have known it was trouble because as we were checking in, another lady came down to inform the front desk that when she first walked into her room, it hadn't been cleaned from the previous guest. Another worker was dealing with a person on the phone complaining about stains on the carpet and keys not working. When visiting Kansas City, I wouldn't recommend this hotel. read more

This is a fairly new property in a great locations to interstate highways, restaurants and a quick drive to the airport. Parking is free. Staff was friendly especially those doing breakfast. THe property was well taken care of. The room was very nice. The shower was very big, which I liked. The room had a big TV. I found the bed a little stiff and the pillows a little hard. There is an online pool. WiFi was good. Breakfast was good with hot items and some different than the norm items. Would stay here again. read more

Two evenings here. My room was on the fifth floor facing the freeway. There was a bit of street noise. Could somebody please invent a hotel door that doesn't slam shut and wake the entire floor?! A great cable TV selection - I got caught up on a couple of movies I had missed the first time around. For breakfast, there will be some variation of potatoes, eggs and a breakfast meat. Also oatmeal, cereal, whole fruit, milk, juices and coffee. I didn't use the pool but did use the exercise room. It was well ventilated and clean. There are single-use earbuds in a basket for you to use. You can choose from free weights, treadmill, eliptical and stationary bicycle. There are towels, cleaning wipes and water. read more

Second day in a row staying at a Hyatt Place hotel. Previous one (Des Moines) was just a little better than this one. Seating area for breakfast and by the bar was very comfortable. Would have liked to have a microwave available either in the room or in breakfast area. Also would be nice to have coffee available 24/7. Nice modern look to the hotel and rooms. read more

This hotel charges much more than they tell you when you check in. They told us $130, and now there's a charge for $180 even though the room was in better condition than when we checked in. And housekeeping kicks you out of the room a whole 45 minutes before the posted check out time. There's also no vending machines, unless ice is all you want. We literally only used the room to sleep in, and somehow they are charging us extra for no reason. read more

Really nice place to stay. The espresso downstairs was decent, no need to hunt for a coffee shop. We are staying here as a family for a hockey trip. The bathroom door lock is broken, which is inconvenient when you have toddlers. The hotel is beautiful, and the beds suffice. Maid service was great and the desk staff is friendly. I'd rate it 5 stars if the breakfast wasn't bad. We don't expect much, but the pancakes were rock hard, and the fresh ones out weren't much better. If they had a waffle or pancake maker like most of the hotels in this category I think it would save them from what I'm assuming are microwaved cakes. The rest of the breakfast, eggs , sausage, etc are edible but need an improvement. read more

Very nice facility. The layout of the hotel and the rooms is modern and spacious. There's an indoor pool and a decent exercise room. I really liked their convention/meeting rooms, especially the large room. It's bigger than it appears from the outside. Lenexa was in need of a place like this. I wasn't crazy about the placement of the bar and restaurant being so close to the front desk, but that's a personal opinion and doesn't deter from how nice the place is. I'll definitely refer visiting coworkers to this hotel. read more
