this is how Hyvee of Denison, IA leaves the snow in their parking lot. it stays until it's all melted by mother nature. sometimes until April. the sidewalk will be as sheet of ice every morning until it's gone since water happens to run down hill. thast pile is 80 some feet long 8-10 feet tall and 30 some feet wide. it started snowing around jan 9 and it looks like this still. the city lets them get away with causing the hazards, the code enforcer, whose parents are both store management, that polices it, refuses to fix any of it. the other sidewalk photos are of ther northeast corner sidewalk adjacent to the building almost 20 days after the snow started. denison ordinance is snow must be removed in 24 hours except for Hyvee. no pedestrians are able to access the sidewalk entrances safely. I'm physically handicapped and haven't been able to get to the business district less than a block from my home thanks to Hyvee. yes, those are semi tire tracks on top of the snow on the sidewalk. they even push the snow into a suv sized pile directly in front of the stop sign! read more
