Ariel Lorenzo had picked us up on time from the airport and dropped us back off at the airport on time. This gentleman was polite and beyond professional. I believe from the beginning of him picking us up, to the end of him dropping us off at the airport that the service was beyond excellent. My opinion of the taxi service in Amsterdam and Belgium has not been the best. So when we actually came across a taxi cab that was honest, professional and polite I wanted to say thumbs up man, finally, I get a taxi cab that is on point.

The preceding station is Garbatella going toward Laurentina, and the following station is Circo Massimo going towards Jonio or Rebibbia. Ok the station is kinda dirty and unremarkable overall, it's a subway and a train station. Trains from here go to Ostia's beaches, but I went in the other direction to Trastevere quarter (rione) and the city centre. The station has escalators that can be in non-working condition. It seems to be a gathering place for the homeless and drunks as well. Little research shows that metro station was opened on February 10, 1955. The mosaics by Enrico Castellani from Italy and Beverly Pepper from the U.S., located in the atrium, have won the Artemetro Roma award. The Porta San Paolo station for the Ferrovia Roma-Lido line runs alongside the metro station. The Stazione di Roma Ostiense, from where main lines FR1, FR3, and FR5 run, is connected to the metro station through the underpass.

If you call them be aware they will be rude and will dismiss your problem like it's normal extra charging their clients and not having an explanation on why they were extra charged. In my vocabulary that's called STEALING. I sent them emails asking for an explanation almost 30 days later they replied saying: "As for the amount of ? 6.00 there we can not understand where this additional amount comes from and it seems strange that Atac barked a similar request. " After this horrible excuse, I contacted my bank and they rushed to block my credit card. AND if you don't speak Italian, they will give you the most non sense excuses just to make you pay more. Another thing for the tourist, during the summer, suddenly a group of people get into the bus to inspect if all passengers validated their tickets, which is ok till here. If you get into a bus where the machine is not working get out, because they will fine you even though it's not your fault. They abuse of their power as officers, my advice, if they ask for your documents without an explanation call the police (seriously) do not give them your credit card if there is not a notification authenticated by the officer with his/her whole name, the date and time, and the bus route identification. You have the right to record them, if they touch you or your belongs, get out of the bus and immediately call the police and the Embassy of your country. Do not believe in their threatenings, they are the ATAC officers, the authorities are the Carabinieri and Polizia.

We ordered a shuttle car service from Rome Fiumicino Airport to Civitavecchia cruise port, we paid $82 to Expedia, we had emails with the shuttle all the time until the day before the ride, we received email said the shuttle schedule changed from two time pick up to one time pick up for the next day and asked us to wait on the terminal 3 door 1 at 12 noon. We waited from 11:30 to 12 and pass scheduled time, we called the company, and the guy told us there is no driver come, asked us to wait longer time. We kept calling him, then he told us try to find a driver but not sure unless we pay more money, we told him we already paid to Expedia, and you should discuss to Expedia. We waited to 12:30 with still no car, because of the Ship schedule, we must get the car to the port, so finally we had to find a cab to take us to the port. After we back to home, I tried to ask refund from Expedia, guess what Expedia said "this was our relationship with the Consorzio not Expedia, because Expedia already paid to Consorzio. What's the excuse? We don't this Consorzio company, we know Expedia, we paid to Expedia, and we don't know how much Expedia paid to this Shuttle Company. On Thursday, January 1, 2026, our family of four (myself, my partner, and our two children aged 5…read moreand 4) arrived at Termini from Napoli. We headed to the Leonardo Express platform to catch the Leonardo Express to Fiumicino Airport. The next train was leaving a couple of minutes later. We tried to tap our credit cards on the automatic machines on the platform but they were not working. We asked a Trenitalia employee and a controller, who were talking to each other at the entrance of the train, if it was ok to pay on board, and they said yes, so we decided to board the train immediately. After we found seats on the train, I pulled out my cell phone and purchased tickets online. I saw that we needed to purchase only two tickets since each adult could be accompanied by one child (please see attached copy of the tickets). Just before arriving to Fiumicino Airport, the same controller we had seen when we boarded the train asked for our tickets. I showed her the tickets on my phone and she said "I do not see tickets here". At first I did not understand what she was saying, so I asked her to repeat and explain what the problem was. That is when I realized that, in the rush, I made the mistake of purchasing tickets from Fiumicino to Termini, instead of from Termini to Fiumicino. This is my mistake, I admit it. I tried to explain to the controller that we were not going to use the tickets I had bought (we live in the USA and have no plan to travel back to Rome soon) but she was very rude and made no effort to try and understand that this was just an honest mistake. She then said I had to purchase new tickets and that the cost of each ticket, when purchased on board, is 64 euros per ticket. I was so shocked that I first refused. The controller then threatened to call the airport police if I refused to pay. Having no choice, I paid, using my American Express card to pay the exorbitant amount of 128 euros (please see attached copy of that receipt). This was a total scam. The controller never informed us that purchasing tickets on board cost the astronomical amount of 64 euros per ticket. The controller was rude and discourteous and made no effort at understanding the situation. We were just tourists trying to make our way to the airport, not delinquants trying to get a free ride, but we were treated as if we had deliberately tried to break the law. I complained at the station at the airport and was given an email address to send my complaint. Needless to say, I never received a reply.
