I stopped into Richard's meats for the first time last week (crazy since I've lived in Reidsville…read moremy whole life) and I was thoroughly impressed. The parking lot has ample space which I appreciate and I loved the Fourth of July art the windows were decorated with. Inside the store is packed to the brim with everything you want in a butchery/meat market. I also love that they still have a butcher block in the back and that they have their bundle prices listed on the wall. You can choose from their cooler of meats or get a specialty cut from the back. They also sell local grocery items like canned goods, candy, sodas, etc. Although they were busy for the fourth, the service was still prompt and exceptional. I'm definitely putting this spot on my list for all things meat related in the future!

I was excited but not surprised because they normally have really good deals and random sales. Well on this occasion I go to pay for them and the lady at the register say this is a really good deal. The lady behind her (older lady) say what and the lady who is assisting me said well I am not sure this is right. The older lady walk over and say not this isn't. She said the should be the price of the legs not wings. She then took all the wings out of my cart and said he can't have them. Called someone from the back gave them the wings and said "he trying to get them for the price of legs. This isn't right take them back." She never told me the price they should of been and never gave me an opportunity to pay the correct price. I asked for the right price and she yelled "2.99 but he should have known that wasn't the right price. ". Referring to me as if I put the price on the meat. I am now debating if I would return to this location. I felt embarrassed and if they felt I was trying to still t from them. I rushed out after paying for the rest of my items yet to return.

I first came here a while back in pursuit of a USDA Prime steak. They routinely carry both Prime and certified Angus ribeyes and strips as well as other cuts of beef, poultry, and salmon. I have only had the steaks, and they are outstanding. The other cuts of meat appear to be of the highest quality. I have also tried their smoked salmon dip, which is excellent, and their chicken salad, which has boldly flavored chicken (grilled?) and is as good as any you will find anywhere. They also have an astounding array of refrigerated or frozen take-and-bake meals. I've not had any of them, but they look fabulous. So if you're looking for something to grill or a prepared meal for you and your family because you're sick of cooking during this time of stay home/isolate/quarantine, I would highly recommend Gate City Butcher Shoppe. If you are hunkered down and not leaving the house at all, then I highly recommend that you visit GCBS on the day the stay home order is lifted, e'er it come. P.S. I'm sorry if "I'm into Something Good" is now playing in a loop in your head. At least it's a cute little song, a 1964 Carole King composition that Herman's Hermits took to #13 on the charts.

Jimmy's Graham Meats and Barbeque Kitchen is no longer on my list of meat suppliers…read more TLDR: If you seek quality meats, knowledgeable service, a business that won't try to scam you, don't go here. Issues: Gets orders wrong; changes the price when you come to pick it up; Low quality meat(notably an unacceptably high amount of gristle in the hamburger we purchased, as well as generally poor quality in most of the items in our recent order); will try to pass low quality meat off as high quality(Sam's club shouldn't have better quality AND lower prices than you); rude on the phone(hangs up on you frequently) - This business is a dumpster fire. I recommend Sam's club, or if you are sufficiently high volume, a reputable direct foodservice supplier. Local butchers in this area have lost all my business due to quality, order management, and customer service concerns. Buyer BEWARE!
