We've been visiting Mathnasium off and on for over a year now, and we just love it. Most…read moreimportantly, my child loves it! I have two children who have mathematical minds, and they really enjoy math and logic. However, my oldest has been struggling a bit learning certain math concepts at school, so we visited Mathnasium to get some help. I wanted to be sure that any help we got with math didn't extinguish that love he has for math -- I didn't want him to dread doing math. But Mathnasium makes learning mathematics fun. And the people who work here are super invested in the kids and work very hard to make sure they succeed while having a good time. Our first visit consisted of an evaluation, just to see what my child knew and didn't know for his age/grade. After the evaluation, they could then see what he needed to work on, and they were able to tailor the tutoring to fill those knowledge gaps. The tutoring is all about making sure the kids have the basics down, and then working up from there. I really like that. What my child really liked was that he was able to work up toward prizes. Each page of work he completed meant he got a punch in his punch card, and punch cards could be redeemed for prizes. And the prizes were really good! We're talking board games, water bottles, snacks, and other fun things. There were also lots of fun bonuses throughout the week -- each day you visited, there was usually something interesting happening. Like one day, they celebrated National Chocolate Day by giving out chocolate to everyone who visited that day. Or if it was a tutor's birthday, then everyone got double or triple punches in their punch cards. Speaking of tutors, they were all so very kind and helpful. The tutors seem like high school or college-aged kids, which was nice because I felt like my child could relate to them. You can visit Mathnasium on a month-to-month basis, which I like, because that means we can drop in when I start to feel like my kid needs a math refresher. And it was especially helpful this summer break -- we visited to work out some of the kinks he had with math last school year, and also to keep the skills he had already mastered sharp. I have recommended Mathnasium to real-life friends with kids, and now I'm recommending it to you! I'm sure we will be back at some point, and the best part is that my kid is actually looking forward to going back.

We lost over a month of prep time when the class we signed up for was cancelled just before the start dates. We were then told that the June/July classes had no one enrolled so were unlikely to go forward. They then offered to sell private tutoring or online classes. Don't waste your time waiting for an in person class. Very frustrating.

She was extremely anxious about tests, wasn't understanding what they were covering in class, and had gotten an F on a test. Once that happened, I knew we needed to get some help. In just 2 months of once a week sessions with Kelly, she's come such a long way. She feels more confident, doesn't suffer from as much test anxiety, and she got an A on her last test before finals and a B on her semester final! Kelly is so good at breaking down complex problems and explaining things in a way that make sense. My daughter always says the hour goes by quickly because she's actually enjoying math. Stephen did an excellent job of holding our attention and keeping the class engaged with a perfect blend of knowledge, expertise, and humor. He kept us on point throughout the four day course. Post class, I found the video lessons to be most helpful. Thanks to Stephen and PMA, I passed the PMP exam on my first attempt.

This is my 2nd bootcamp with PMA, which has consistently delivered good products and genuinely cares about providing value. I would say, however, that the style of the PMI PMP exam has changed quite a bit over the years and it feels like the syllabus for future bootcamps is going to need to evolve too.

I've had two recent experiences here that have been rather disappointing. In our group of six…read moreseveral were not happy with the food and we all thought the service was poor. Three members of our group ordered Chicken Alfredo, and all said that it was very dry with so little sauce that it looked like no sauce at all. Two requested extra sauce from our server and one just didn't eat hers at all. It took quite some time for someone from the kitchen to bring the extra sauce, by which time the others had finished eating. They were all charged for the extra sauce, even though it had been missing from their entrées. The server hadn't checked back with us or offered refills. Two in our group ordered salads, and they were happy with them. I observed two employees sitting on a bench, having a conversation while it appeared that tables needed to be bussed and cleaned. We waited a long time for our server to bring our checks, and then longer for our payments to be taken. I also had a recent experience with a carry out order where some of the items I had ordered were missing when I picked up the food, even though I had been charged for them. I was picking up an order to take to work so I didn't have time to return and pick up the items missing from the order. Crafters has a great atmosphere but improvement is needed in both food and service.
