Your response was oh my God so sorry we have no control over what Chef Franco does. Chef Franco if you have any sort of decency, please list Chili's in your ingredients. Or find another way to find flavors... Just saying..... My waitress was not able to comprehend or understand the specials or the aspects of the food.... I really hope they can improve this. I picked the largest pine cones, hidden in hubby's hoodie (I didn't have a bag), to experiment on. The Magnolia tree greeted us, as we entered the park, was in full bloom. I think it's scented, too! My favorite about this park, was the playground. I spent more time swinging with the youngest grandson, and watching him and his 8 years old playmate (friends since toddlers), and walking around to the nearest creek & bridge. If it wasn't feeling like about to rain, we could have stayed much longer! Oh, they also have to drive back to Portland, today, so off they go, and we stayed longer.

Central Park in Ashland OR…read more During our stop in the City of Ashland on our way back to California we walked across the street to Lithia Park. We were wrapping up a Thanksgiving weekend at the time of our visit so leaves have fallen and they may have experienced some rain. It wasn't too chilly, the sun was out and so were the locals (and visitors like us). Lithia Park is a historic park and has combinations of woodland, ponds, gardens, and gorgeous Italian-style fountains. It's no wonder the park has been named the Crown Jewel of Ashland. The park is huge! Lithia Park is located in a lush forested area and also has hiking trails but we didn't go that far. Wow, and I didn't know this but, the park is also a source of Lithia Mineral Water. The park was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. Review #3266

The baseball park was in use and a few people were wandering the park. Not too busy on a Saturday but there was a lot of nature to see. They have a lot of displays set up so you can see how various animals make their homes. For example black bears and some varieties of birds. Lots of time and money (there are many interpretive signs) has went into this location. It's worth a walk through. The office is open M-F but you can check out the nature outside anytime. Price: Free I'll check it out again when I'm in the neighborhood.

The Koi fish in the pond, all came to us, when we got there, like they're wishing hubby his 75th birthday! They could tell, he's HERE! They could smell, he's HERE! They could hear his footsteps, he's HERE! The magnolias were scented, some and they're very beautiful at this time. There are other flowers, that were currently blooming, see photos. I'm impressed! It's small! But, I love it, that it's so close to Lithia Park, where we were earlier. I made a separate photo album, just for the Japanese Garden. I will definitely come visit, next time we're in Ashland. 2nd best part about this park? It IS FREE!

And I didn't even hear the obnoxious nearby Pickleball "ping". Gayle and I took a stroll through the Ashland Japanese Garden during our recent return visit to OSF. It was a bit of a rainy day and very little was in bloom, so the place didn't "pop", but I'm not sure that's the point. Admission was free and the Garden is clearly a work in progress. All in all, it was a most enjoyable visit, and one that we hope to repeat as Ashland retakes its place on our travel plans.

It's two levels, a smaller grassy and play area up top right off of a bridge, and a larger area down the hill. It looked like there was a parking area at the base of the hill but I didn't explore that part of the park. The play structure is modern and clean and even has those spring horses I loved from my childhood but most of California has deemed too dangerous for kids. The view from the upper area was very nice, it parallels 5 but you don't see much of the highway because of the trees. I was there in the beginning of October and the trees were coloring in preparation of dropping their leaves adding to the beauty of the view.

It looks like a much smaller lake then it is, but once you start driving around it you find hidden coves and fingers that suddenly appear out of nowhere. Each turn of a corner brings a new surprise - a water slide for the kiddies, long boat ramps with a place to tie up your boat, beautiful trees that are sure to fill with leaves and blossom into beauty in the summer. There's camp sites and washrooms - a playground for the children too. And, of course, there's the water sports - boating, water skiing, jet skiing, canoeing, fishing. If all this isn't enough, it's really pretty too. Truly, how could anyone not love something this beautiful?

Parking it terrible since it's right in the heart of Ashland. Also, dogs are not allowed to walk through this "park." If you're already down there and need a nice shady spot to sit, you can on one of its like two benches. There are some cool paintings on the ceiling underneath the main street. Say hi to the homeless man sleeping there when you visit.
