Hunt Pilates is the best studio I've ever practiced at! The teachers are amazing. I take most classes from Liz and she is exceptional. Before the pandemic I also took classes from Sheri and she is awesome too! Hunt Pilates took an excellent approach to group classes during Covid and all of their equipment classes are outside and offered on Saturday and Sunday. It's awesome being outside! Updating this review, because often you can leave a business 5 STARS right out of the gate and then things can change. Not here! I've continued to pop into Hunt Pilates every now and again and although I haven't had another class with Jason the same enthusiasm and feeling fresh off my Day 1 visit remain. I'm often signing up for Monia's classes because they fit my schedule, but I have taken a couple others as well. I had noticed in the past I'd taken a couple classes with an instructor that also taught at another studio nearby which was interesting, just on different reformers. I can't say enough about this place. I love the feeling here. It's a workout that is much different than my norm so I wouldn't go as far to say its extremely strenuous or tiring. In reality for me it's such a comfortable, relaxing yet engaging class. I'm not into Yoga much but I love how present and centered I am here. I can lay back and really focus on my body and being present. Thinking and focusing on each movement on the reformer provides an excellent way to clear your mind of everyday stresses. You're engaging muscles and working but it's nothing like spin, running marathons, or even weight training. I love this place to cross train. Classes are low impact and although I feel like if this was the only thing someone did, they'd need to be here twice a day everyday (and that's just my opinion) I love the feeling I leave with. As I previously mentioned it seems Jason's classes really fill up. I recommend Monia. I really like her down to earth, honest approach. I have been going to Hunt Pilates for awhile now and must say that I absolutely adore Liz and Ron. I love their new studio, as you enter you feel the amazing spirit and lightness in the rooms. Liz notices EVERYTHING, if you think we just can hide in the corner and she doesn't see you, you are mistaken! I really love this place! The staff is warm, and they make you automatically feel comfortable and welcome. I like that it is more of an intimate studio where everyone knows each other & is accepting of new students. If you're a beginner the teachers will go out of their way to correct and show you how to properly work on the reformer. They never make you feel embarrassed about asking questions & are happy to spend a little extra time or give more attention to a new comer. I've really been enjoying Sheris class on Saturdays. She is super informative and explains every move thoroughly. She wants to make sure her students know what areas of the body should be working and how to make sure you're not straining others. I am SO glad I found Hunt Pilates! I was searching for a traditional Pilates studio that had more of that close knit feel (not a chain fitness spot) and I found that here. I'm not huge on Pilates places that add other workout elements (crazy cardio or just use reformers as hype) so I was very happy to find an authentic studio that sticks to the fundamentals of Pilates. I've been going to Hunt Pilates for about 6 months now and love it! I go 3-4 times a week and have seen measurable changes in how I look and feel. I had never done reformer pilates before but was always interested in it. After some long term yelping and stalling, I decided on Hunt Pilates and chose to do a few private classes first since the reformer looked...intimidating. I used to work out using different methods before but I had seriously fallen off the wagon (like...couldn't even see the wagon anymore) so I was really starting from ground zero when I arrived. I decided to take classes with Jana to start based on availability and her bio and I LOVE her! She's extremely patient and fun. I felt like I got a great workout without being so overwhelmed that I wanted to quit ... and now I'm an addict. I continue to go to her classes the majority of the time, but I also frequent Antony's classes and have done a few with Jason and Tracy. They are all fantastic! Side note: the reviews below saying people have been rude or unfriendly or god knows what...I just don't get it. I have never ONCE had any issues with this studio or the teachers. No payment problems, no scheduling situations, nothing. Everyone has been nothing but lovely to me. Sounds like a personal problem. read more

Started in April 2014 with a Groupon and have visited 2-3x per week since then. Had taken a 5-series Pilates class elsewhere prior to visiting this studio. Schedule-wise, I've only taken Jason and Jana's classes (beg, beg/int, jumpboard), but based on them and interactions with the owners, I'd recommend this place to anyone looking for a Pilates studio. The people: Ron was very helpful and patient with all my questions regarding class descriptions and scheduling outside the online booking system. Liz has always been friendly and welcoming. Instructor Jana can be snarky-fun, and I totally enjoy her classes. Instructor Jason is energetic and pays close attention to your form, and I feel I get a great workout from his classes. The place: the front desk area is tight, especially during class transition time. But it's clean and comfy with sufficient seating. The studio doesn't feel crammed, even though there are 7 reformers in a row with 2 additional off to the side. The back room for private sessions is spacious, and all the equipment looks to be in good shape. read more

Like many others here, I had my early introduction to pilates at Hunt through Groupon. I fell in love with pilates and toured through pretty much every single pilates Groupon in the Valley. Once I sufficiently sampled my options, I returned to Hunt and committed to a full package of reformer classes. Over a year later, I am still so happy I landed here. The instructors are awesome - each with their own teaching style and approach. You get something different from every class. I tend to take most of my classes with Jehona, Jason, Liz and Nanette because of my schedule. They all push you as hard as you're willing to be pushed. I get the sense that they really care and put energy into putting together classes that are both challenging and interesting. They are all pretty funny too - good times... The new studio is gorgeous!! If you haven't been yet - you must check it out. They have spring board and new reformer classes. It is a smaller studio than the original - but so well done. I love me some reformer classes - but don't miss out on the spring board classes too. They are so good! It is nice to have the variety. read more

I've been coming to Hunt Pilates since 2012. I've since moved out of the area, but still make the drive out. In fact, there's a few other people in the classes I take that come from Beverly Hills, Pasadena and Porter Ranch to take classes there. Teachers are great, and from my experience, everyone on staff has been accommodating and really nice. In regards to cancellations, I've had to cancel last minute because of family reasons, and they completely understood and didn't charge me for my class. The 24 hour cancellation fee is more for the people who book in weeks in advance and knowingly no show without calling or emailing. I'm a regular in one of Jason's classes and he's able to keep classes entertaining and challenging. Johanna and Amy also are amazing. Definitely worth trying out if you're looking for a new studio. I've taken classes at Pilates Plus, Wundabar, Pilateology and Blvd Pilates. I rotate between this studio and Wunda, but even though Wunda is closer to me, Hunt is more home to me read more

Hunt Pilates is my home away from home, or even more my home than my actual home! I am so grateful for the entire staff: Jocelyn, Ron, Sherri and of course Liz. The instructors are patient, push you when you need it, encourage you to be better and correct you when your form is off. There are a variety of classes and times: I personally prefer the springboard and reformer classes, and recently started taking Sherri's Jumpboard classes which are a fun and challenging cardio hour. I also loved my private sessions with Liz, which complimented the rest of the classes I took. Hunt Pilates is the best. They have good, clean equipment, small classes, and excellent one-on-one sessions. Yes, it is more expensive to do Pilates here rather than at your gym, but it is worth it. I have been working with Jehona for 6 months to recuperate from a back injury. My time with her has been much more helpful than any physical therapy. The classes are small (up to 7 students) and the instructors care about students and check on form. I recommend doing at least one private session unless you are really experienced, so you get the most of out of classes. But I can't say enough good things. Absolutely L O V E this place! I recently purchased a Groupon and have really enjoyed all the classes I've attended. All the instructors so far (Elaine, Monia, Amy) are incredibly nice and welcoming. I've never done Pilates before and at times, I definitely feel like I'm slowing the groove of the class down. Although this happens more often than I'd like to admit (hey, I'm a beginner!), they do a fab job of helping me adjust and feel comfortable with the motions. Love this studio. I had never taken Pilates and every time I thought about it found classes were a bit too pricey for my taste. Then I discovered Hunt Pilates. I started out by taking advantage of an introductory offer consisting of three private classes with Kathryn Hunt so I could learn how to correctly use the Reformer and other equipment before attending a class with other students. Katy is a wonderful teacher, caring and passionate about her work. She customizes the class to the individual needs of the student. After my three individual classes I signed up for a series of 10 beginner Reformer classes - 10 for $210. These are taught by Tracy. She is loads of fun and very patient with me as I am just a beginner (and she compliments me on my choice of socks : ) I also attended a community Reformer class which costs $10. There were students at different levels but I didn't feel at all intimidated or left out. The classes are small (five or six people) so the teacher can dedicate time to each student. The studio is SPOTLESS and has lots of natural light. Katy keeps the music at just the right soothing volume so even though you are working hard you feel relaxed. And best of all I feel such a great sense of accomplishment when I complete the class! I highly recommend this studio to anyone who is interested in Pilates. read more

I have a groupon for this studio and I am so hesistant to even use it! I had previously booked an intro class in the spring and I was very ill and unable to make it. When I had booked the appointment over the phone the receptionist never told me there was a cancellation policy (and having worked at gyms and spas for over 8 years I would have remembered). So they charged me and I called and asked for it to be reversed as common customer service would dictate and I thought they would handle it well in the interest of keeping me as a potential client and they were so rude. They finally refunded like $10 of the $15 which is so caddy and ridiculous. I called and left messages several times (not because I need the $5 but because it's the principle of the matter and really bothered me) and they never returned my calls. It seems like a lot of people have had this experience, and having the owner berate you in public is TERRIBLE - I'm surprised they're still open with this type of customer service treatment. I'll be going and using my Groupon up as soon as possible so I can move on to a better studio. read more

I really like this studio. I bought a Groupon pack and enjoyed my experience so ended up buying another pack and about to purchase a second. I have tried a variety of instructors and really enjoy them all --- but they do all have a different style a bit. I love Monia's classes, she has a great energy, knows how to mix up the routine so that no class is the same and also Amy A. - her classes are challenging and fun...who wants to be bored! I don't prefer taking classes from the male instructors here because I don't feel like are as "in-tune" with what our female problem area/workout needs are. The studio itself is simple with a friendly front desk staff who are always happy to help. My only complaint is that the majority of classes have "standings" in them so it can be difficult to try new classes or come to the studio as a new client and be able to move around. I tend to stick to about 3 classes and they are the only ones I can get into based on availability. I do think the owners should do something about this because packages aren't cheap and it feels kind of frustrating to pay so much and not be able to have more options or open classes to get in to. I am rating it a 4 rather than 3 based on how great I think the instructors are and I felt and saw a difference quickly, but if the owners happen to read this please do something about the cost of packages versus the amount of open classes. read more

I bought a groupon and took my first class yesterday... it was awesome! I'm feeling it today! My friend takes the classes with Jana, so she suggested I meet her and I'm so glad I did! She helped correct my positioning quite a few times (as I'm a newbie), which I appreciate vs. a teacher who doesn't care as much about the form risking me getting injured. Definitely going back to her class:-) Side note - only downfall w/ a groupon is you have to register online for an account w/ cc info, then email your certificate separately, then you're able to register for a class... but it should be smooth sailing from here! read more

I was sad to see the criticism about Jana's weight--she is a great teacher, very caring and a great example of why Pilates is so great --you don't need to be perfect to do it. I take JAna's classes regularly because I think she is really fun and I get a great workout--but I also think Jason, Anthony and Amy are great teachers. I recommend that people try classes with different instructors--you are bound to find a fit for your style. As for the RUDE woman who came in late to her first class, and probably had never used a machine before --it is completely disruptive and if you weren't "tended to" immediately, perhaps it's because you were disrupting the experience for 6 other people? read more

Words can not describe how much Hunt Pilates has changed my life. I've always been interested in finding a good workout and Hunt Pilates IS IT. Will not recommend the place, first of all When i purchased my 10 class pack from the groupon Ive been never told me that I can participate in few limited classes, Which were very basic classes, I couldn't go to the once that I wanted. Second of all their equipment is very old and not in a good condition. After 2 classes I was pretty disappointed since I took classes in few other studios before and my expectations been not met at all. I started going to another studio since I figured I am wasting my time there. Than after a while I remembered that I had several sessions left and I contacted them to see if I can use those to give it another chance but they told me that my session been expired and I needed to use those within six month, which was news to me Anyways such a waist ..... read more

I've been going to Hunt for 2 years and I really love it! My posture and core have only grown stronger after taking these classes. Like any other fitness class, it all depends on your instructor. If you ever have the chance to take a class with Amy or Jehonna, I highly recommend them! Amy has such an amazing, upbeat attitude, she makes classes so fun! Jehonna is also really great, she's helped with my form in the past years. I especially love how small and intimate all the classes are-you get the attention you need to help with form. I really love Hunt Pilates! I have been a regular at this studio for over a year now and taking Pilates has really changed my life. I have a much stronger core, and constantly get compliments on my arms and legs (I owe it all to my teachers at Hunt!) The classes are challenging but the teachers are really good about watching your form and making sure you aren't doing anything to hurt yourself. I do wish they would have more early morning classes so I could go more times during the week. The morning classes fill up so fast! I also introduced my husband to Pilates since he suffered a terrible back injury and could no longer work out at the gym. He transitioned from physical therapy into Pilates and not only has he strengthened his back but he lost weight too. We are both Pilates fans for life thanks to the great teachers at Hunt! read more

I have been doing reformer pilates for about 13 years and I came to LA for a visit from Indiana and took 2 classes with Liz at Hunt Pilates. I have never worked with an instructor who was so educated, competent and focused on every single tiny move - making sure that you are getting the maximum results for every part of your body. Liz is so specific and truly cares about you and your health. She is kind and funny and I have no idea how she can talk for 7 hours straight with all of the classes she teaches. The studio is very clean, comforting and comfortable and the equipment is in great shape. I wanted to update my review since they have changed locations. HUNT continues to be my zen space. I regularly attend Liz's classes as well as Jehona's. They have scheduled the classes very conveniently and offer both mat and reformer classes. They also offer individual and small group sessions. The new space is gorgeous! The lighting is perfection as is the cooling system. The whole space is just aesthetically pleasing and calm. You can tell that they put a lot of thought into making it their own. There are approximately 6 reformers for use in the group classes which is fewer than the previous studio. I actually like the smaller class size. There is usually water available for a donation which I take advantage of from time to time. Their classes are so affordable therefore I can practice regularly without breaking the bank. I cant say enough positive things about Hunt. I'm in love! read more

Still a great place - see my previous review. But now that I have taken other private lessons I have something with which to compare my experience here. I still recommend Tracy. Again, she asks a lot of of good questions and tailors the workout to your concerns/requests. She didn't work me super hard but I did tell her it was my first time and that I had no experience with the reformer. I did not wake up sore, which I have at other places. What I really like about Hunt Pilates is that their room for private sessions is pretty big. Their equipment also seems like top notch stuff (although I am no expert). I like that they split their group classes between different levels vs. all level classes. I just wish they offered more times for those of us who have full-time jobs during the day. read more
