This grand old structure is actually quite large on the interior, the great room offering space with capacity to 150. A full commercial kitchen, and full sized raised performance stage complete with grand piano are attached to and a part of the great room. This cool old craftsman style building is available for special occasions, workshops, etc. A great venue and worth a look if you're in need of a space in the area. 3.5 Stars - rounded up for the great upkeep of the building. 00528

This school is horrible…read more They failed to teach my son to read by the time he was supposed to be in 5th grade. Starting at the time he was supposed to be in third grade I began to ask them for an aptitude test. Kate Craig one of the quasi teachers at this sesame Street playgroup claimed my son was dyslexic also claiming that she was specially trained in recognizing learning disabilities and had special training for special education. She claimed my son was dyslexic. 2 years later we were finally in court and they were ordered to participate in professional aptitude testing outside of their quasi school. Upon being tested by a professional outside of this quasi school it was determined my son does not have dyslexia that he is incredibly intelligent that there is only one thing wrong and that is the delivery of information is not occurring properly. It was not until 2 years later that he was actually tested after my requests for aptitude testing. He was measured to be in the bottom 5th percentile of all areas. Instead of acquiescing to the idea that their structures and curriculum was failing they went on the offense and began to make retroactive documents and attempt to make it appear as though there was a problem at my home creating his inability to be given proper scholastic instruction. I've met several fathers in our small community that removed their children from this horrific institution. This failing establishment should never have opportunity to impress upon children as they will teach your child politics and extremist philosophies.... while failing to teach your child basics scholastics.... I appreciated all the play time given to the younger grades as well as the academic standards achieved in the upper classes, while allowing every child to go at his or her own pace - the advantage of a smaller school and truly committed teachers! To my surprise, each time something broke (like a dish, a lamp and other things), I went to Tailwaggers in Henderson Center and found exactly what I needed at a very low price. These days, I am trying to buy most items 2nd hand before paying outrageous prices in stores with all the heartless DT tariffs being passed onto us. Tailwaggers has a very nice man working there. Everyone was super nice and helpful whenever I have gone there to buy something. Many years ago, when my cat became missing (got out of the house right after a move), Sequoia Humane Society helped me find my kitty who managed to get out and then lost when a loud mower came unannounced. Then, it began pouring rain for three weeks straight. The nice man who found my then less than a year-old kitty crying under his back shed, lived only two blocks away. My kitty was shy. She would not come to anyone but me. The nice man had been feeding her sardines from a can and he called Sequoia Humane Society where I had also posted a flier with my phone number. I went to that man's house and he took me to his back yard shed, where baby cat was hiding. When she heard my voice, she came to me. We were so happy to be reunited. Baby cat wanted to be held in my arms for weeks after that. She had been missing for nearly a month. I split the donation I had posted on fliers between the Sequoia Humane Society and that nice man who took the time and effort to reunite us. This is the primary reason why I love Sequoia Humane Society and Tailwaggers so much that I donate all gently used and even new items, as I don't want to deal with Craig's list, etc. These days with money tight, I am shopping there frequently too.
