Often, when mom and dad need to buy stuff for the living room, kitchen, car, garage, or garden, they tag their kids along, anyway. Why not offer something for them to consider buying, as well? Indeed, this is usually the scenario for our family trips to the hardware. At True Value, while the parental units are shopping for paint or lighting fixtures or windshield wipers, we kids check out the pet supplies and toys or the baking items. Recently, we even came across cotton candy machines and peanut butter makers, Coca-Cola memorabilia, and lip balms in fun, outrageous flavors (Nerds, Hershey's, Reese's, DQ, Bazooka, pizza, bacon, and fries, etc.) on display. Of course we girls had to buy one each of that last item. Hehe. So, the next time you're asked to go to the hardware store to buy a replacement for the busted lightbulb in the bathroom, don't think of it as too much of a chore. If you're looking for affordable, vinyl players, they have this brand called Dick Smith (not the best name out there, I know). They have a great selection of affordable kitchen appliances for just about everything. If you're the outdoorsy type, they have a lot of sports gear such as balls, outfits, and even camping gear. I personally think that they do offer great deals on most of their items, you just have to choose 'em well and make sure you consider quality (not all will be brand spanking new) and for electronics, consider voltage requirements and warranty.

I have a table from Ace hardware, a shelf from SM Hypermarket, and hand-me down stuff that my family gave me out of pity. I do know I've made it in life when I actually have something 10 times bigger than the picture frames and cool knick-knacks I've purchased here through the years. Back when these chain of Dimensione stores were new to malls, everyone ooh'd and ahh'd over contemporary and minimalist furniture, as if the whole Philippines never new it existed. Pieces in Dimensione are classy, tasteful, and well-curated. It has consistently made its vision apparent in all the pieces they sell in their stores, and I do think that this chain of stores were actually the purveyor of modern interior design locally...well at least in the mainstream society. Personally, I love everything here, and even if you're not buying furniture, there are still reasons to check this place out as they have a lot of interesting and modern home decor and gift items (check out their Umbro stuff!).
