This guy knows more about Workers Comp law than anyone else, and he explains things really well…read more Even my husband understood, and he works for CDOT. Seriously, if you get hurt at work or if you get an Occupational Disease*, get a lawyer or you'll get screwed. Plus, you really don't want to handle all the massive paperwork yourself. This lawyer is awesome! John Sbarbaro got great results for my husband, and he's a super-nice guy, too. His front office staff are pretty on top of it, even though it might seem like they're blowing you off sometimes when you leave them messages and wish they'd just pick up the phone, be nice and wait your turn like we all learned in kindergarten, haha. And if you're not used to driving in Downtown Denver, be sure to check Waze when you plan your route. Bring change for the meters in case parking is scarce - usually you're fine but hey, it's Denver, always an adventure. ;-p *Lots of employers like to ignore OSHA when it comes to Occupational Disease, and take no steps to protect you. Be aware! Your sore throat/cough could be cancer or silicosis, and your hand falling asleep could actually be hand arm vibration syndrome, thoracic syndrome, cubital tunnel syndrome, carpal tunnel syndrome, or any combination thereof.

Mr. Sbarbaro really does have the clients best interests in mind. When he see you being mistreated…read moreby the insurance company, he gets upset. He goes after the insurance company and makes them do what they're supposed to do. I couldn't recommend them more. If there were 10 stars, I would give them 10. Simply the best.

The length of the case was a bit too long and drawn out (partial fault to COVID) with the exchanging of the case between lawyers. Yet, the lawyer that took care of me best was Jordan Warner! I had to insist the initial Paralegal be pulled off my case (incompetence), and when we finally got a settlement agreement, the one that was presented to me by my attorney (he reviewed and approved it) was so poorly written and missing so many legal protections, I had to completely rewrite it myself. Pretty basic stuff for an injury settlement missing, leaving me legally and financially exposed if accepted as presente od. They grossly miscalculated interest on fronted expenses (yeah, they charge you interest on any expenses they incur like document prep!). For the high fees charged with minimal time invested by Sawaya Firm, Id expect a much higher level of legal competence and client protection. Do not recommend. Nice folks though. I would recommend you go with a law firm that charges hourly, not one of these contingency firms. Their incentive is to get to a QUICK settlement, take their 40% (with out of pocket fees and interest), and move on. You will fair much better and cheaper if you pay hourly somewhere else. Remember, they settle nearly all of their cases (whether good for you or not), which means you will always pay for services and a very high imputed hourly rate considering they really dont spend much time on any individual case normally. As an example, 8 hours of actual time spent on a case, pocket $20k as a fee...you do the math.
