We loved the endless pages of sauce option you can choose to top their homemade pastas. So many options for pizzas too which was melt in your mouth perfection. The meatballs were literally life changing. I would go back just for those. Every morsel was delicious. And don't sleep on the tiramisu. I know we are in Spain! When we went it was busy, but we were able to get a table right away. Since they are known for their horchata and fartons, it was easy to know what to order. The horchata was refreshing, not overly sweet and not heavy on the cinnamon like it is back in the US. The farton we dipped in the horchata. It was light, airy, warm and fresh. It doesn't have a ton of flavor but it's still tasty. On our second visit, we got the churros and chocolate. We only tried a couple different ones on our trip but the churros here were my favorite. Crunchy outside, soft on the inside, and the chocolate was the perfect level of sweetness for me. Overall, a great spot for a quick dessert, and would definitely eat here again if I was back in Valencia

I was going to another recommended Horchata spot and our Hotel changed my mind and insisted…read moreCatalina was the best one to visit. As I approached, it was clear this was the spot. They were busy with multiple people taking pictures of the entrance. They have two levels but only the 1st level was being used. I was seated immediately close to the entrance. I didn't see any outdoor seating. Beautifully decorated with Valencia/Spanish tiles throughout. I ordered the specialty Horchata and Bunuelos. Horchata is served cold and is dairy free (although it seems like it has Dairy) and was a bit too sweet for me but definitely one to try. Bunuelos was tasty and had more of a donut texture. They also had Churros and a few other pastries along with Hot Chocolate and Ice Cream. Service was quick and friendly. A good mix of Locals and Tourists. Definitely a must Valencia stop!

The tiger nut is a root that is soaked then blended and strained then brown sugar is added similar to making almond milk. They also sell these nuts/roots for you to make your own at home. The flavor is similar in some ways to the Mexican counterpart but without cinnamon and a bit nutty. maybe closer in flavor to cashew milk or some other nut milk. I don't know which is the original or if they are related in any way but it is delicious and not overly sweet. If you've only tried the Mexican version, I highly recommend you try's this one. It's also vegetarian and vegan. This location is just outside the Valencia Cathedral. Pics to come later.

First, it represents the largest produce market in Europe, spanning 86,000 square feet and housing over 1,200 stalls. With its towering dome (Photo 3) and basilica layout, this market feels huge... ...but not intimidating. This space is far less a tourist magnet than a daily functioning, community-focused operation heavily used by the local populace. We saw businesses specializing in fresh rabbit, snails, and specific bean varieties for authentic Valencian paella. There were entire stalls dedicated to freshly harvested saffron, local Valencian citrus, and local seafood like eel and cuttlefish. Of course, for your more immediate noshing needs, you can also find appetizing baked goods, Middle Eastern sweets, and Jamon by the slice. The Art Nouveau architecture is stunning with its iron-and-steel framework and stained glass roof panels. Located in the heart of the old city in Ciutat Vella, it's close to other key landmarks like La Lonja de la Seda (The Silk Exchange) and Catedral de Valencia. RELATED - Exploring Valencia? The staff is very friendly, they speak English and are very proud of the products they offer, and they can tell you all about them. In the shop you can find wines, oils, preserves, jams, meats , rice and more! This is a great place for a nice souvenir, my favorite souvenir from this shop is the Valencian rice, very easy to travel with and it has a lovely authentic packaging. They run 2 shops, the first one opened in the Joaquin Sorolla (Ave) train station (great for last minute gifts) and the second one is a beautiful shop that houses in an old pharmacy in front of the central market.
