The real horchata; not the Mexican type made from rice but tiger nuts. Spelled orxata, but pronounced the same. The tiger nut is a root that is soaked then blended and strained then brown sugar is added similar to making almond milk. They also sell these nuts/roots for you to make your own at home.
The flavor is similar in some ways to the Mexican counterpart but without cinnamon and a bit nutty. maybe closer in flavor to cashew milk or some other nut milk.
I don't know which is the original or if they are related in any way but it is delicious and not overly sweet. If you've only tried the Mexican version, I highly recommend you try's this one. It's also vegetarian and vegan.
