With that being said our last appointment with his office was everything but smooth, my wife had made an appointment for 9:15 am but she had to call the office to see if she could come in earlier than her appointment time and that is when the office staff said she could come in @ 8:30 meaning they could fit her in earlier. So we arrived at Dr. Miltenberger's office at 8:15 am my wife checked in with the front desk and then we waited in the lobby for her to be called back. What transpired while we were waiting for her name to be called was not acceptable because there were three to four people that we checked in before that had their names called and we're allowed to been seen before my wife was seen, which was not fair to my wife. She went back to the front desk to ask why there were several people taken before her when she had checked in first, and she was told that all the other patients had appointments that were before her appointment even though they told her that if she came in early she would been seen first. But they told her who ever told her that it was a guarantee that she would be seen first was wrong and that they were sorry for the wrong information. The office staff handled the situation in an unprofessional way because they had given wrong information which in my opinion is not good and they need to train their staff properly.

My husband also sees Dr. Douglas (we almost never go together due to work schedules) and my husband has similar experiences. The staff here is great and the office runs efficiently. Dr. Douglas runs on time. I've never had a wait. My husband is typically a difficult stick. The phlebotomist here is awesome and always gets him on the first time. Dr. Douglas is kind and takes a real interest in you, not just as a patient but as a person. Dr. Douglas is a huge dog lover and has photos of his dogs in the exam rooms. It's a nice touch so that the office feels less sterile and more welcoming. It's also nice to get a glimpse into his hobbies/ outside interests. That way you see him not just as your doctor but as a human. Overall I highly recommend Dr. Douglas. He is a wonderful PCP. You want someone who takes the time to listen and gets to know you as a person. The location is convenient for me but even if I lived a little further away, I'd drive the extra distance for a good doctor.

Dr. Castillo did a bone marrow Bx for my father, and even allowed Mother and I to be present in the room with Dad because Dad was more comfortable with us in the room with him. The only negative thing about the office is that the wait time to see this doctor is very long, but it's worth it to see a doctor of this caliber. However, I do think that waiting any more than a half an hour to an hour, tops, (unless the doctor has an emergency) in any doctor's office is unacceptable. After all, the patient's time is valuable, too. I have referred one person to this doctor and from the feedback I got, they are very pleased with both Dr. Castillo and the level of care that they received from him. There are two people that I know of who were fortunate enough to have Dr. Castillo as their physician. (in addition to Dad). One had breast cancer, the other lung cancer. Both are doing well and I am sure that they credit their return to good health, in part, to this fine and caring physician. If I were ever diagnosed with cancer, I would want Dr. Castillo as my oncologist.
