This store is really cute, I love that they've kept the older look and continued to keep it maintained and clean over the years. Neat, small town grocery store feel to it, seems like decent selection of things. We were scouting around for good grocery prices and specifically meat prices and we did find a couple places with lower prices for both but we really like the store, none the less. Hudson's Supermarket is a fine example of a hometown food market. It is an older store building but is reasonably kept. There are always ongoing updates that are needed and are common in older buildings. Yes, the prices may be slightly higher than giant stores that order in bulk from foreign entities, but the produce is fresh and the employees are friendly, helpful, and they ALL are wearing masks. read more

Hudson's meat department has good quality custom cut choice meats. The meat department is run by a young lady that knows the meat business and will custom cut steaks, etc., at customers request. My wife and I went to Hudson's in October 2009 and 2010 when we were on vacation in the area. The details: There's a nice meat and seafood department, with very fresh packaged items (and occasional sale/reduced items). We enjoyed the store-made sage breakfast sausage. There's a packaged/bulk area to the right of the front door with both familiar and unusual flours, spices and seasonings (Lucky Charms-style marshmallows, and sour cream and onion flavoring, for example). A small but decent produce section. All the usual grocery items. The prices are reasonable. The people working there were very friendly. It's a good, small-town grocery shopping experience, which we love. read more

Fried chicken is fair on days when the grease is fresh but it lacks seasoning and the personnel are rude when asked a question.
