As the cab service I usually used (Hudson River taxi) has had their phone line disconnected (I assume they are out of business), I called the best rated an hour ahead of pickup time for a Peekskill train run. No cab at the time requested, so a call into the office got an "on his way, will be there in two minutes" response. Seven minutes later, the next call got a "he's by the hospital" response. Seven minutes after that (the hospital is less than 1.2 miles from my front door) we had to rely on a neighbor for a frantic run to the train. Do NOT use this service if you have a need to get honest or reliable service!

There are many times where I miss my train and am REALLY late to work. After calling three other cab companies to be denied a ride to the Peekskill Metro North station during peak commuting hours, I called Radio Taxi. The dispatcher told me that the drivers were extremely busy, but they could get a cab to me in 10 to 15 minutes. It was probably more like 17 minutes, but my driver showed up in a very new, modern, and clean SUV taxi. After using various Hudson Valley cab companies where the cars are in terrible shape and the interiors are filthy, it was very nice to be in a well-maintained car. The driver did not operate the vehicle like something out of Grand Theft Auto (which has also happened to me) and obeyed all traffic laws (I'm not asking for very much, am I?). Granted I called approximately 45 minutes before the train was due to arrive because of horrible experience with cabs in the past, but I arrived to the station with time to spare. Because of some of the awful experiences I have had of late, Radio Taxi may be one of the first companies I'll call from now on.

Disgraceful and disgusting, verbally abusive, nasty dispatcher. The dispatcher has zero people…read moreskills or respect. I was being a kind helper to a Spanish woman who asked me for help and didn't speak English. She was with a little boy, and through a lot of difficulty let me know that her cab was over a half hour late to pick her up. She asked me to call and speak to the dispatcher to ask for an ETA. I was picking up my daughter from pre school and could empathize with her having a small child. She was totally helpless, and confused. Her child was antsy and making her nervous. I couldn't leave her like that. Upon calling the dispatcher and simply asking him a simple question and explaining the situation, I was quite literally screamed at, verbally abused and hung up on. I called back and was hung up on again. Finally I called her kind driver #28, who was empathetic to her situation, but told me that unfortunately I needed to speak to dispatch. Upon calling dispatcher again, I yelled right back and put him in his place. Also telling him that I would be leaving a negative review for his nasty and dehumanizing treatment of this woman and myself. Finally he gave an ETA and hung up. The kind and professional driver #28 called me back as I finally left to go home with my child. He apologized to me profusely and explained that multiple people have complained as well. He was a gentleman and treated me with respect, and professionalism. Do not use this taxi service! Driver 28 is an asset to this company. Hope he finds a better job elsewhere. Wish I could Leave zero stars.

My place is in an obscure area. I have a car. Hardly ever take a taxi, but know it's usually 1 or 2…read moredollars more than the Peekskill border down the hill. It was $7 for decades. Then it was $8. No idea what it is now. Neither did the driver. So I gave him $10. Thought I was covering my bases. He reported me as ripping him off and now they won't pick me up!! Incredible. My grandmother used L&L. So sad. They won't even talk to me about it. Btw. I just rode with Rio - same trip - it was $11!! Go figure. All that for a dollar.
