I had the herring sample plate, don't remember the exact name, but it was something like Köln Sushi. In any case, it was herring served in a bout 6 different ways and I loved every one of them. This dish is for true lovers of those delightful little fish. They were smoked, marinated, raw, with beets in a salad, grilled, and so on. Everything was so fresh and tasty. I finished it all, something I seldom do. This was the best meal I had in Cologne, and I'd go back for more. That's saying a lot too, as I almost always prefer trying somewhere new. However after I paid my bill, an older owner-looking guy stopped me from heading out and asked me to take my bottle with me. Food wise it was average, I ordered tapas which had no seafood, so probably that was not their specialty.
