Beautiful park overall and Silver light festival here was amazing. Free Christmas lights. Drive thru Hubbard park and look at the beautiful silver Christmas lights. They also have a Santa's workshop that you can look at too.

This is such a staple for long-time residents of Meriden, or folks passing through! Hiking trails, a pond for fishing, a band shell where events take place throughout the year, and tons of open green space-- this is the heart and soul of Meriden!

I live nearby and come here often. I really like this park year round. It's beautiful and the trails are great! Love taking strolls here, too. In the winter, they have beautiful holiday lights up, there's the daffodil festival, and so much more. There are always people at the park which is nice. Great for families.

4th July fireworks and celebrations. Food was fantastic but I wish there was more to choose from. Music entertainment and the ribbon of the night FIREWORKS !!!!!

"No short-haired, yellow-bellied, son of Tricky Dicky Is going to Mother Hubbard soft soap me" (John Lennon) When you visit a park, what are some of the features you'd like to see? Probably lots of aesthetically pleasing natural beauty, with a huge lake, ducks, maybe a few bridges and waterfalls? Probably lots of lush greenery, flowers and flowering trees, right? You'd probably want to see some hiking trails to get your steps in, correct? How about tennis courts, an entertainment pavilion, swings and playground equipment, grills and picnic tables? How about some DINOSAUR TRACKS??? How about a venue for local events like 4th of July celebrations, and festivals galore - ethnic celebrations, Silver City Winter Lights, and a Daffodil Festival? And coolest of all, how about a spectacular historic castle on the park's 1,800 acres? Ladies and Gentlemen, beautiful Hubbard Park has all that and more.

So beautiful this time of year with all the daffodils bloomed!! Nice to walk around and take pictures or just enjoy the fresh air and beautiful flowers ! I just wished people would stop feeding bread to the geese!!

I love how Hubbard park does a free light show for the holidays. I was more excited than my lils to see all the displays. Be prepared to have a wait to actually enter the park. You can make it fun with music and holiday treats. They allow you to park and walk through as well. Patience is a virtue, some ppl weren't in the holiday spirit and honked as I was trying to take pictures. Unfortunately most of my pics are blurry. All in all a must do for my family in warm comfy Christmas pajamas.

Beautiful park! I came for a morning walk which was great. Not too crowded around 8:30-9am. Good trail around the water for walking ... some parts do not have gravel or a heavily walked area to follow for a walk but it's easy to figure out how to complete the circle. I saw a stage and a tennis court and I believe there is a driving trail. I was there for a workout therefore I was mainly near the lake and the area with all the steps. Just watch out for poop spots and muddy areas. Overall pretty clean park with pretty friendly people.

COVID-19 era review: this is an excellent place for social distancing, whatever your definition of park may be. If park means ponds, birds, and grassy knolls, you're home. If it means rugged boots, blazes, and boulders, you're also at home. Lightly walk the pond or reservoir, or bring your boots and climb one of the two traprock ridges (Castle Craig is the East Peak side, with views of Sleeping Giant and the LI Sound). Waterfowl congregate at the duck pond, and there's a few folks fishing. The sign at the pool says if you have a city pass, you can swim from 1-5, but I didn't see anyone after 1-work day drought or COVID closure, I wish I could tell you, but the huge playground was open and occupied. Come back in autumn for great foliage, winter for the amazing holiday lights display, and Spring, post-COVID, for the Daffodil festival.

Great place to walk and great scenic views. Felt safe in this area as I am not a local! Beautiful place and well kept!

View from East Peak of the reservoir and points beyond.

Great place for every age - swimming, hiking, picnicking - plus you can ride up to the top to see the castle. Great for a family day out.

Crystal-clear water + sunny spring day = perfect hike…read more Spent a beautiful spring sunny day at Wadsworth Falls State Park, and it did not disappoint. I took so many pictures of the clear river. It's seriously that stunning. The swimming water vanished. We hiked the Wadsworth Falls Loop (3.6 miles, easy, great waterfall views) and also checked out part of the Main Trail. Trails were in good shape; just a little mud here and there, but totally manageable. Bonus tips from my visit: · Dogs welcome on leash · Free for CT-registered cars; $10-15 for out-of-state · Restrooms, parking, and picnic tables available · Get there early on a sunny day to beat the crowds If you love clear water, peaceful forest walks, and two distinct waterfalls, don't miss this spot. Already planning to come back with an all-terrain wheelchair for a friend (you can reserve one in advance). Would I go again? 100%.

If you have the right footwear in winter, it's a place for a rewarding hike! Boots and grips and the occasional side stepping is good for your winter trip. Mind the tracks, or crews tending the still in-use tracks, then enjoy the lovely views of multiple waterfalls, some frosted over, but water audibly rushing beneath the ice. Starting out, we didn't see the blue trail marked on the yellow and orange junction map, but the trails were well-marked with vertical tree blazes, so if you take the orange, yellow, or blue trails, you should be in good shape. If you don't have the time for a decent hike and just need a restful stop, large falls are just below the parking lot (those no access signs on the trails don't kid!). All year, enjoy! There are zero facilities here, and the only amenities appear to be accessible recreation and a dog waste station beneath the parking lot, but you aren't in the middle of nowhere. Pack in, pack out, and enjoy as much or little woods as you like, and enjoy the peaceful sounds and sights of the many falls.
