Their handymen are constantly available and extremely helpful! One of the gentlemen that work for the complex makes himself available to help any time he sees one of my older neighbors struggling with her groceries, helping her get them to the top floor. There's even a story about how the handymen helped one of the residents when the resident had an accident: They drove her out to the wrecked car (at the junker by this point) so that she could get her belongings out of it! What place do you know of that treats their residents like that? It's like you're a part of the family! Every problem we've had (and to be fair we've had a few) has been addressed quickly and once. We haven't had to call back for the same problem twice. I highly recommend living at the Windsor Hills Apartments. We'll be moving out of state some time early next year, so there will be at least one opening but probably not many!

There apartments are poorly maintained and the office admin treat you like second class citizens. I lived here a few years and paid my rent a week before it was due by check and they would lose my checks even though the payment was taken from my account and would have to fight the office to remove the late fees every other month. I also experienced faucet leaks, severe flooding from leaks levels above, cold drafts in the winter due to poor seals, and maintenance workers who like to set up cameras in your bathrooms, here's a news link: https://richmond.com/news/state-regional/blacksburg-maintenance-man-faces-19-new-charges-of-filming-a-nude-person-without-their-consent/article_26b45ccf-3659-5e0a-aeee-5b78c8f52a62.html Do yourself a favor and find a better apartment to rent out, there are plenty of other places that are better maintained.i really cannot recommend against living here enough.

Parents of college students looking for off-campus housing: Please Read…read moreAs your students begin searching for off-campus housing, I want to share our experience and encourage you to document everything. We recently moved out of Maple Ridge Townhomes https://www.facebook.com/mapleridgetownhomes and have spent over a month disputing charges that were assessed against us after move-out. What's frustrating is that many of the items we were charged for were issues we documented when we moved in, including wall marks, damage to flooring, broken countertops, damage to the front door frame, and other maintenance concerns. When we arrived in August 2025, the unit was not in the condition we expected. We scrubbed walls, cleaned bathrooms, and spent significant time cleaning the apartment ourselves. We chose not to complain about every issue because we understood this was student housing and assumed some wear and tear came with the territory. However, we did document and report major damages and maintenance issues. After move-out, we were surprised to receive charges for some of those same documented conditions. We have also been charged for things such as hard water stains in the tub, a small piece of lint left on the carpet, and even a mark behind a bed where the provided metal bed frame rubbed the wall. We also know the current tenants and they have confirmed these items were not fixed upon their arrival and remain. So I am sure they too will be charged. What has been most disappointing is the difficulty in getting clear answers and timely responses while trying to resolve these concerns. Despite conversations where certain charges appeared to be acknowledged as questionable, we have not seen meaningful resolution. At this point, it is not about the amount of money. It is about fairness, transparency, and making sure students and their families are not paying for damages that existed before move-in. My advice to any parent considering student housing: Take hundreds of photos and videos before your student moves in. Move the furniture from the wall and crawl under the bed. Submit maintenance requests immediately for every issue, no matter how small. Keep copies of all emails and correspondence. Save move-in inspection reports and documentation. Expect that you will not get your security deposit no matter what you do. Do your research, had I done google searching on Maple Ridge and read all the reviews I would have understood that this is their standard. I hope our experience helps other families avoid the frustration we've been dealing with. If your student is considering Maple Ridge or any student housing community, make sure you thoroughly document the condition of the property from day one. Please check out a few of the arrival photos below and compare against departure. It's not even about the money at this point it's about what's right and these students are getting taken advantage of!!

I would give no stars if I could…read more I strongly recommend that prospective renters carefully consider other housing options before renting from this company. After my son's three-year tenancy, the company withheld his security deposit and charged him an additional $205, for a total of $405. The other three renters in the unit received similar charges and also had their deposits withheld. Altogether, the company charged the four residents approximately $1,620 for items that appeared to include light bulbs, cleaning, and what is generally considered normal wear and tear. If you do not have a roommate, the company assigns you to a room without necessarily considering your preferences. After my son complained about his living conditions and was charged for allegedly leaving the apartment messy, he was eventually offered a different apartment with a private bedroom and bathroom. My son regularly cleaned his room and bathroom, and I also traveled there several times to help clean. He was nevertheless charged a $200 transfer fee for moving to the new apartment. During one winter month, an exterior pipe burst, leaving the apartment surrounded by dust, noise, debris, and industrial fans for nearly four weeks. My son could not properly study or use the bathroom included with his rental. He was instructed to use the one bathroom shared with the other three residents, although he was still charged for the full use of his apartment. Because the conditions were not suitable for him to live or study, I moved him to a hotel and insisted that the company address the situation immediately. The dust and debris also created concerns about potential damage to electronic equipment. When we requested reimbursement for the hotel so that we could cover those unexpected expenses, the request was denied. Communication with the company was also extremely difficult. They were rarely available by phone, and email responses often took several days. We had to insist that someone call us to discuss the situation and inform them that, if they did not respond, we would have our attorney address the matter. Only after that did we receive a response. At the end of the lease, I personally cleaned my son's bedroom, bathroom, and the kitchen. The other residents had not yet returned, so I cannot speak to the condition of the apartment after we left in July, when my son graduated. However, after contacting them, I learned that they received the same type of letter regarding charges. They agreed that they should have left the apartment as it was because, in their view, the company charged them for work that would ordinarily be expected after a three-year tenancy, such as repainting and routine maintenance. Based on our experience with the living conditions, maintenance issues, additional fees, security-deposit charges, and lack of timely communication, I would not recommend renting from this company.

First, you will park at the main entrance to Lane Stadium. After a 30 minute information session (which is well-organized), you'll be divided into smaller groups for a 60-minute walking tour to see the interior of a campus building and walk in the residential dormitory area. The campus tour is full of useful information and you'll get a chance to see the interior of a building (but you'll be walking more than 1 mile outside so comfortable walking shoes are a must). Our tour guide walked backwards for much of the tour (which seemed awkward at times). By the end of the tour, you get a sense of how large the campus is (more than 30,000 students) and the Hokie spirit (which values service toward others). Overall, I would recommend the campus tour if you are considering to apply here. The pretty rural location and physical buildings on campus are worth seeing before you commit to applying. One thing that surprised me is that high school students are strongly encouraged to declare their major and college before arriving. Also, the "Hokie spirit" is pervasive on campus, which may be fun for some. The branding logo of Virginia Tech is impressive and appears everywhere from road signs to clothing. I am sure that you will reach your 10,000 step walking goal for the day if you do the tour.
