Liz taught the class right before ours, but designed the one that we took, so we knew it was good :] The instructors/staff are all very friendly and you will definitely feel comfortable from the get go in the sessions. You'll just need to wear workout clothes. There is no need for any other gear for the conditioning classes. For beginner MMA classes, a cup and mouthguard are required even though there is no contact (after-class sparring is an option apparently). They have a schedule posted online (islandmma.com) of all classes from kickboxing to MMA and general conditioning classes. Membership can be month-to-month for unlimited classes, and gets progressively cheaper for the longer length memberships. The first class for anyone is free, so there really isn't much in the way of checking out one of these motivating, educational, and effective classes! Will definitely be back soon.

I really love this yoga studio. I am from Seattle visiting family with an imminent death in the…read morefamily and needed a studio to get away and lean into my yoga practice. The moment I walked up the stairs to the studio I felt held and could safely leave the family chaos behind. One class that stands out that was such a blessing. I ended up between 2 women who had a strong yoga practice. One of them introduced herself. It was such a beautiful exchange. Being between these 2 women and the wonderful yoga instruction was a true gift. I look forward to coming back to this nourishing studio where I feel great things happen on and off the mat.

The heat relaxes tight muscles and I can even tolerate summer heat better, now. I knew fitness classes were not my thing, but I took one to make the quota for a challenge. Now I go to a variety of fitness classes nearly every day + go to deep stretch classes. I've had my membership for 3 years, and it's very reasonable. The facility is clean, the staff are knowledgeable and helpful. Classes are very comfortable as the lighting is dim and we are always encouraged to work to our own level and not risk injury. I am thrilled with the results of my membership. Classes have improved my strength, mobility, energy and pain levels, skin and mood. It's a happy and comfortable place to go to. As to another review, letting surfaces air dry, rather than rubbing with a cloth is the standard procedure in hospitals for disinfection, as it permits the solution to sit on the surface longer.

I have been to only one class, so I can't say too much about their classes and instructors. The…read moreclass was fairly full so the facility seems popular enough, although I will not go to a class with that instructor again. I noticed that Oxygen has really streamlined the business and minimized costs. It's located in a shopping plaza. It might be different during the day, but for an evening class there were no staff, and the participants waited outdoors for the instructor, then checked themselves in on an iPad. There are no changerooms, just two bathrooms and a single shower (which appeared unused despite this location being 100% hot yoga). We were asked to leave our clothes and valuables by the (locked) front door... there was no other storage for clothes, and I think many people left their coats in their cars. At the end of the class, we were asked to spray our borrowed blocks but no need to wipe them (no paper or cloth towels available - again less overhead costs). I think the owner of this business has a good thing going, from their perspective at least.

The facility is fabulous, the heat is very consistent here so you know what to expect. I find that with other studios instructors set the heat according to their liking which is odd since you as the instructor is not practicing at that time, so what makes you think you can set it to your preference? Good job Westshore, you are always consistent and make practitioners feel welcomed. I always take the extra 15 min drive to this location, because they make you feel welcomed and inspired :) A must try for anyone looking for a new studio or if you are new to Bikram's.
