Their customer service is top-notch! They did a fabulous job painting the front of our brick…read moretownhouse -- it looked great and gave totally new life to the home. The painters were friendly and didn't need any oversight, were friendly, worked quickly, and cleaned up after themselves. We had two hiccups along the way, which both dealt with us adding on painting our front door which I offer as cautionary tales for anyone getting their front door painted: First, the powerwashing of the front door also broke our electronic lock. Patrick was quick to respond and removed the cost of the replacement lock from our invoice. (Very kind, thank you!!) Second, I don't think they told us the right kind of paint to buy because it has always looked too matte and stroke-y, and has lately started to bubble. In the future, I would do more research about what type of paint to buy rather than ask the guy who shows up -- I shouldn't have sprung it on them, even though they were more than happy to do it. Who knew that door paint selection could be such a process? Despite these two notes, I would definitely use Patrick's again in the future. It's hard to find a place that offers great customer service these days, and I am very grateful!

I hired Patrick's Painting for a small project to (1) repair and repaint a defect in a bedroom…read moreceiling and (2) repaint a bathroom. A reason for hiring them for this small job was to evaluate their ability to handle a large job - painting the exterior of our house. Based on my experience with the small job I will not consider them. A two-man team was sent. The person who repaired and repainted the bedroom ceiling did a good job. The person who repainted the bathroom did not do a good job. Specifically, the area below the bathroom mirror light fixture had a surface problem that was not addressed. Possibly an attempt to cover the problem was made by applying a very thick paint application. Not only did this not correct the problem but added to it as clearly visible paint brush marks were left behind. I do not understand why a clearly visible problem was not corrected at the time. It is not easy to contact Patrick's Painting but l eventually did and they sent someone to correct the problem. So, a problem that should have not existed was corrected. The outcome for Patrick's Painting is that I will not consider them for painting my house. The included photograph is of the defects as they were left originally. Whether the job was fairly priced or not, I do not know. I was not concerned with the price of this job, but rather the quality of work performed. They do not measure up.

Several months ago I started searching for a home improvement company to renovate my single family…read morehouse in Arlington, VA. Within the morass of companies vying for my business, I was lucky enough to find The Carpenters of Georgetown based out of Washington, DC. It has been my experience that a lot can be said about a business from it's owner. From the first meeting with Nash Peart I was taken by his personableness and attention to my specific needs about the project. After taking the time to talk with me at length he sent along an estimate that fell nicely within the bids I was considering. I approved his bid after some modifications, and the construction started right on time. Mr. Peart oversaw the entirety of it. His crew were always respectful and seemed to go out of their way to clean up at the end of the days work. This point was of particular importance since my wife and family were still living in the house during the process. The final result was nothing short of wonderful. I have never had my home renovated, and maybe I'm gushing too much, but I was very impressed with the result. I have a new kitchen, two new bathrooms and rooms with renewed functionality and life. It seems that my confidence was not misplaced. Carpenters of Georgetown and Mr. Peart's dedication and attention to detail are not to be undersold. I would certainly hire them in the future.

We bought a house that Carpenters of Georgetown flipped. Just a week after we moved in, the…read morebasement was flooded (you can see pictures in my google maps review). We contacted Nash on the phone and email many times, and he finally replied with a short: ¨I will be in touch shortly.¨ That gave us hope that he would actually do something to help us repair their terrible job. He never got in touch again, I guess we have called him more than 50 times and at least the same amount of emails, you can imagine the frustration generated by this person and his company after making the biggest investment of our life. For what I see, I not only think he is not a great developer, but he is also a coward that runs away from problems. In fact, we talked to him before buying the house and he said things like: ¨I wouldn´t sell a house that is not safe¨ or ¨It´s not necessary to get a home warranty¨. We trusted him and that was our big mistake. Obviously, I don´t recommend them at all, but if you are going to do anything with him, make him provide you a warranty so you won´t have to be chasing him (and losing time and patience) the week after he leaves. We have already spent a good amount of money fixing the basement (and many more things) and we just have the option of suing him, something that we didn´t want. I guess by doing this we will finally get a response from him...
