My first review from the mobile app. A very large cinema in a large shopping centre. The theaters ticketing prices are the same as those few other that I have been to. However this cinemas has a very large number if movies on show each time than others, so those movies that don't seem to be showing at other theaters will most likely be on show here. Other than that, the screens are big, the seats are comfortable and as usual the drinks and popcorn are extremely expensive. read more

First off, you can't buy tickets online if you don't have an Australian credit card, nor can you buy them over the phone. So for anyone visiting, I recommend you find another theatre and give them your money instead. Movie tickets are expensive, and concessions are ridiculously expensive. And it was total chaos when we were there - both ice machines were out of ice and it was hard to find anyone to help (and it was 35 outside). Lines were long to pay. Popcorn is boxed up in advance so you're not getting fresh stuff. Sweet only comes in one size, there's no option to mix sweet & salty, and no butter. The theatre seems new and the "Xtreme Screen" was big with excellent sound. The seats are very wide and recline with controls similar to an airplane seat. The bathrooms are far too small for a theatre of this size. read more

My wife an I go to the movies once or twice a year. We went to Hoyts in Chadstone on the 27th December and was just OK. I always get a combo large popcorn and coke. The pop corn is prepacked so its not really hot and fresh. They have different stalls for different items, popcorn here, drinks over there and ice cream in another area. No prices on anything, so you do not know what you are paying until the person at the register gives you the price. The pop corn is prepacked so its not really hot and fresh. Tried the Extreme Screen and noticed that the seating is very tight. Coming from Hoyts Eastland where seats are more spread out. When you recline your feet are practically touching the person in front. I did bump them accidentally. Trust me, go to Eastland or another one. read more

After over a year in hiatus as the shopping centre behemoth was extended yet again, Hoyts re-opened later in 2016. Boasting more luxury, posh food options (including the adjacent "dining terrace"containing Fonda and several others) and reclining seats, expectations were high. On the face of it, its a great modern cinema, but if you look a bit closer, there are big issues here. For a start, the thoroughfares are narrow and a bit confusing. The access to the toilets is utterly ridiculous - a narrow curved path which means people coming and going risk crashing into each other round the blind bend. Recliners are great, but once reclined, noone can really get past you, so you risk being interrupted before, during and after the film by people with a bad sense of timing/direction or small bladders. read more

Once you get up the mountain if escalators the new cinema area is really nice! With lots of new places to stop off for food or a drink before a movie. Bought tickets online and had no issues. Only thing I didnt like was that the seats leg rest only came up to a strange 45°angle which was weird and not that comfortable. All the other new hoyts cinenas I've been to come up much further which is much more comfortable. read more
