They also have some classic Amish/mennonite food like apple dumplings (made just like my Mennonite family makes them!) and perfect hand rolled soft pretzels. I got a cream soda, which was very good but verrry sweet, since it's just whipped cream in soda. I also got one of their soft pretzels, which is a must-try if you're in the area. They had some cute seating along the side of the shop, as well as in the shopping center itself.

I'm taking away one star because it's a little dated and cluttered feeling, but other than that it's a must. Though I didn't try a pretzel, I believe the other reviewers' raves because they looked amazing. So did some of the other treats available behind the counter, from bakery to ice cream concoctions. But I came for the tea, and I was not disappointed! They have sample jars sitting out with tons of flavors, and I sniffed my way to heaven. I brought home four bags, and every one is absolutely delicious. They are much more robust in flavor than the other teas I have tried from a variety of online and in-person locations. I can't even brew a pot without first inhaling deeply from the bag, because the aroma is so wonderful. Forget the other places - I plan to order all my tea from here now, shipped to my home in California. The owner told us they might retire in a few years. If they do, I beg them to publicize their supplier, so those of us who buy from them can continue finding this fabulous tea.

I kind of feel silly about the details of my visit here…read more.. I was driving through the area and needed a place to grab a FAST lunch. Get right back on the road. This place seemed like a good choice and had order-ahead on the Toast app. So I order a chicken caesar wrap with a banana as the side, plus a coffee. I'm going to run in, grab it, then eat in the car while I'm driving, right?... There's tons of parking on the street right outside, no problem. But as I walk in, I realize this place is deep in the basement of this downtown building. What the heck have I gotten myself into? But it's really charming down there! Tons of seating, nice mood lighting, and super friendly people. The food was almost ready and, as I'm waiting, I start to regret my choice. Why not just hang out here for a while? But my mind was already made up. I grab the food, go to the car... and then realize I can't drive and eat this at the same time. Takes too much coordination. So then I'm frozen. I already left, so I feel like I can't go back in, but I can't start driving either. And so I eat my lunch sitting in the car right outside. Like an idiot. Thanks for reading all of that. I do feel better having put it down in writing. The food was really good! Just what I needed to have the energy to get back on the road. Coffee good too. Seemed to have a little bit of some kind of flavoring in it but I couldn't put my finger on it. If I'm ever back in the area, I look forward to eating lunch in the basement like a civilized person.

Great atmosphere, great food and drinks, and the baristas are the best! Very friendly service!read more

Refuge I want to start by saying that I really do love this…read morecoffee shop and I recommend all coffee lovers to try this place out. They have the best espresso in Branch County and I won't get my coffee fix from anywhere else. The shop is cozy and clean. Most of the staff seem to know their stuff and they've all been very professional and friendly. It's one of the most welcoming coffee shops I've ever been to, for sure. They sell Yoder's cinnamon rolls and they're sooooo good! 10/10 highly recommend. If my review was based solely off of what I've said so far, I'd give them 5 stars across the board. Unfortunately tho, I tried their breakfast this morning and wish I hadn't. I don't think anyone should pay $8.50 for the bagel sandwich I received this morning and hopefully these photos will help prevent others from feeling as disappointed as I do. My "everything" bagel had barely "anything" on it, meaning it was extremely hard to tell it was an everything bagel, it looked and tasted more like a plain bagel with a very thin layer of cream cheese on it. I know no one asked for my 2 cents and I don't want this to come off as if I know their business better than they do, because I don't, but if I were to be asked to give them a POSSIBLE solution to prevent this from happening in the future, I would suggest posting their food menu on a blackboard, with prices clearly written out, and where it's easy to read. The drink menu would be a perfect example of this if the prices were listed. A bonus would be if you had the menus & prices on your website as well so it's easy to find! I work in Coldwater and we order from you quite a bit and one thing we've all mentioned is wishing we could see a full menu so we know beforehand how much our orders are gonna cost and I know some of my coworkers have wanted to order food and didn't because they didn't see any prices listed. On a positive note, I absolutely love: -the hand written messages on every single cup. -the miniature Jesus keychains you sell. (My coworker talks about the ones she got from you quite often.) -how clean the entire shop is. -the sign above your bathroom sink. -you put a photo on your website that shows exactly what a drink is made up of, so people can actually see what the difference is between a latte and a cappuccino, etc.

Scripture printed around, friendly staff. Neat details, like the use of pews for seating. The day we went, their internet was down and we had to go to a nearby atm to get cash out, my understanding is that that isn't usually an issue. Large selection of drinks and the option to do a "flight of lattes"- which is unique and fun. We each had a different beverage- two February special lattes and a chai tea latte- we enjoyed them all! We also tried some different food options, an egg cup, biscuit & gravy and the turkey, bacon, ranch wrap. Again, everything was tasty! Although it would be a 35-40 minute drive, definitely looking forward to going back!
