Jamila and her assistant arrived while I wasn't home and only cleaned the exposed carpet. My fiancé happened to be home and moved the coffee table out of the way so they would clean that area. The assistant made it clear that he would not move the furniture. When I called to complain, Marc told me that "there was probably just dust under there anyway!" Which wasn't the point. I asked for a carpet cleaning and was promised the full carpet would be cleaned. Not for a lazy one swipe with the machine. The part they cleaned looks great. But it was a half-assed job and not what I signed up for. Update, just got off the phone with Jamila and she hung up on me instead of listening to what I had to say. Never in my life has a company made me feel so disrespected and angry. I'm a reasonable person and my fiancé had nothing to do with the misunderstanding. The misunderstanding is fully on Aladdin's end. Mark was ridiculously unprofessional and Jamila's employee lied about the exchange. You should be able to book a job with details laid out, and get that job done the first time correctly. Not have to endure accusations and rudeness from the co-owner and be offered to have the service done again on Friday so the carpet is wet all weekend. Whatever response Jamila might have for this review, it's to attempt to save face and cover up the fact that they provided bad customer service and did the job incorrectly. It amazes me that a business that is run in this manner has been around for this long.

Very poor customer service. The entire experience would have been positive if your company did not try to be one and done and leave carpets at our home damaged from your steam cleaning and neglect to rectify it. All you had to do is make a phone call to repair what you damaged. Going forward we could have been a new customer. Nichole clearly stated we are not a customer and our complaint about our unraveled carpet needed to go through the "customer" - Octagon and she hung up. Very poor. There was no "how can we fix this", "how can we rectify this", "how can we help". Instead you chose to argue and were not professional at all. Moderne may have been around for 75 years but you are not the original owners and you need to take a class in customer/consumer service and etiquette. I did work in a Disaster Restoration Firm and Carpet Cleaning Firm for 22 years, got the wrath of unhappy customers a lot but I did not lose my cool and listened. I would help to rectify the situation when they arose, "put the fire out" and gain trust and respect that they would give a great review and believe what I said was true.. I sent the Living room area carpet back with your technicians because you damaged it. It had minor wear on an edge but it was NOT unraveled. I merely told your technicians point blank "What is this and why would you deliver a damaged carpet that was not like this when you picked it up?" I did not holler at them but merely said I am not accepting this, take it back and fix it. It was the same tech that picked it up. When picked up we had it rolled up in our garage to prevent less tracking and construction dust. When he returned it he said "Well you had a water damage". Yes we had a huge water damage but the carpet never got wet. It was cleaned because of tracking and construction dust not because it got wet. Aaron you claimed you had photos of it being damaged, no photos were taken here, I requested what you had for photos and you never sent them along. I have photos and witnesses that know our carpet was not how you tried to deliver it back. You repaired it, I want to say thank you but I am not. You also refused to deliver the carpet back and put it on Octagon to do so. Poor. You also damaged our entry carpet which Octagon took with them on 08-13-2025. A photo was sent in case it needs to be replaced. We rarely use the front door and your steam cleaning unglued the back and one side is compromised/loosened weave. We did have a few smaller carpets that Octagon knew of and if you didn't get that memo. So sorry for the inconvenience. Yes, it was nice for the technicians that picked up our area carpets to help me get the large one out from our dining room table - that I helped lift and move. Again, customer service. We did change the delivery date because we were not home. Was that really an issue? Again, customer service. As much as we were not a "direct" customer we are still a customer. You got bad reviews because you deserve them. I have spoken a lot about how you and your company treated our belongings and how you treated us. You owe us an apology. Guaranteed we will not get one because your ego and arrogance has gotten in the way of running a business professionally and properly. Respectfully, Arica Pillsbury Derek A

Back in April, my wife "tasked" me with finding a new oriental rug for our living room. Based on…read moretheir outstanding reviews, I went to MOR and met David Mouradian, the face and, dare I say, personality of this family-owned business. After showing him pictures of our living room and explaining what we seemed to like, David showed me about 10-12 rugs and was very helpful explaining the differences between the styles/patterns, manufacture and quality, as well as appropriate sizing. With his guidance, I boiled it down to four and arranged to have them delivered to the house so we could see what they looked like with our furniture & colors (btw, I highly recommend doing this). My wife and I were so blown away, by how the rugs transformed the room, that we decided to buy one for our dining room as well. Both are hand-woven, tribal patterns from Afghanistan. Since then, I've taken four older rugs in for cleaning and one fringe repair....they look great! David and his team are exceptional at what they do. I could not be happier to have found and worked with a business like this - great experience all around!!

If you are simply buying a rug Melrose Oriental is fine. Nice selection to choose from…read more I brought a rug in to be cleaned and it was returned to me damaged. I understand you sign a waiver that states they can't guarantee spots will be removed but in my case they removed the dye from the rug, briefly mentioned it to me when I picked up my rug, never showed me what happened, and still charged me for the full cleaning despite damaging my rug. It seems like whoever was doing the cleaning didn't have enough expertise to know how to treat or clean my rug and irreparably damaged it. The fact that I was still charged the full amount for the cleaning felt disingenuous. They clearly knew they had damaged the rug as they mentioned it to me upon pick up. Not showing me the area affected when I was there felt like they were trying to hide their mistake. Be very cautious when you bring rugs here to be cleaned.
