On the morning of the appointment, the owner, Otis, texted to say they were experiencing vehicle issues and asked to reschedule. We agreed to move it to Wednesday, 03/18/26. On Monday, 03/16/26, I tried to confirm the appointment but couldn't get through. I left a voicemail and sent a text, then made several additional attempts to follow up, but received no response. Unfortunately, they did not show up on Wednesday morning. The lack of communication and missed appointment felt unprofessional. While I can't speak to the quality of their work, the unreliability and poor communication initially led me to decide not to move forward. Update: Otis contacted me within an hour of my review going live. It turns out my calls were mistakenly flagged as spam on his phone, so he didn't receive my messages or voicemail. I appreciate the prompt follow-up and have decided to give them another chance. He also mentioned that Yelp messages are also a very good way to get a hold of. Hired Gil and friend to cut out some concerete on the patio. Good job there, but they stacked up…read moreall of the broken concrete next to our driveway and said they'd be back to pick it up. Gil kept making excuses, and even after I gave him ultimatum over a month later he still did not pick up the concrete for disposal. That's gonna cost me another $80 to get someone else to remove it. DO NOT let Gil do any electrical work in or outside of your home. Aside from other outlets in our home not woking after he "fixes" the one you need fixed, he also replaced a breaker with the wrong kind and it blew our motor to our pool pump. That cost $350 for the pump and $150 for the electrician to fix the breakers and wiring. Seems like a nice guy up front, but don't fall for it.

Before I get…read morestarted, I want to clarify, I've seriously held off on writing this review for a long time now (since Sept 12, 2015 to be exact), because I truly wanted to give Gil at chance. Not to mention, I am not one to write reviews much in the first place. However, I would like to warn others of this business. When Gil first came over, me and my husband though, "Wow, this guy is a godsend." He was prompt and came when he said he would, moreover, he came early. That was very different from our previous handyman, who didn't even bother to call to say he's still running late an hour passed the schedule arrival time. In our interaction with Gil, we thought he was honest. We were wrong. The day Gil came to fix our stuff (kitchen sink leak, tightening the sink heads, calibrating the ceiling fans so they don't shake so much, and our guest shower that didn't work), we paid him $260 for his services. Also, the guest shower wasn't fixed, because it needed a replacement part which I gave Gil $100 in advance for. At the time, we were really satisfied with his services. He said he would return on Monday to help us fix the shower and recalibrate the fans after he did some research online. Later on that day, I learned from our real estate agent, who had called to check in on us, that we had a one year warranty that came with our recently purchased house. I immediately called Gil and apologized for the inconvenience and let him know that though I won't be using his services, I am extremely happy to recommend him to a few friends. I also told him he could just drop off the money and the parts he took from the shower on Monday. Come Monday, Gil did not show. He responded to my text message saying he had an emergent job and could not make it, but will call me later that night to reschedule. I could understand. But, the call did not happen. The next day, I texted and called him again. No response. It was not until I mentioned that I had recommended him to a friend who needed a lot of repairs done, did he respond. He said he was under the weather and would call again to reschedule. By this time, I was already frustrated and upset by the experience. He was unprofessional. After much stress and discussion with my husband, we had decided it wasn't worth it to get the money back from him. He is dishonest and unprofessional and we'd rather not waste time or energy on someone like this. Not to mention, he is a hypocrite whom swears that he would not do dishonest things because it wasn't "worth going to hell for". For those who consider using Sunny Boy Home Repair, BEWARE! I warn you, think again. Til this day, we have neither gotten our $100 for parts he did not buy back, nor the parts he took with him. The sink heads are loose again, the leak in the kitchen sink was a two part problem he only solved one of, and the fans were a half-a** job as he never returned. Gil, if you're reading this, keep the money and the parts. We don't want anything to do with you again!
