They teach kindness and it shows, my son is often referred to as being extremely kind by his current (kindergarten) teacher. I believe it was due to the positive redirection and encouragement he received during preschool. The director, Ms. Lori, is so dedicated and reliable. She is also very knowledgeable and passionate about early childhood education. I don't know where she gets her energy! There is no one you can trust your children with more. The teachers are also committed and reliable, and will take great care of your children. In the three years my son attended the school, I always felt so comfortable and confident in the care he received. He loved it there ! He made lots of friends, and I even made some connections that we have maintained for play dates, etc. The other families and children were all wonderful when we attended. It's a wonderful, warm community. Thank you Children's Gathering !

My youngest has been at Mudpies since birth and gets excited everyday at drop-off. He jumps into the arms of the teachers and turns to me to say "bye mama"! It really is the best feeling in the world that our kids love where they spend a lot of their time during the week. They learn so much - always different activities! Also, it is very important to us that our kids play outside everyday and to learn about the environment around them. We love that Mudpies values how important it is for kids to be outside. I really can't say enough good things about Mudpies and most importantly about the staff. I NEVER worry about my kids in their care. They feel like our extended family. I have heard that other BPS Schools have some bullies but in the PJK the only bullies are your thoughts. You have to work hard in the PJK. I've been taking some modern Greek classes through this institute and recommend it for two very…read morebasic reasons: 1) The classes are small, taught by native Greek speakers that are teachers professionally, and they cater to skill levels from very basic (alpha, beta, gamma...) to advanced (can you decline and conjugate in all the forms?) 2) Where the heck else are you going to find modern Greek classes? Even bigger universities that do have "Greek" classes usually only offer the classics -- ancient Greek mangled and mispronounced horribly. Very few places will offer modern Greek. Worse still, non-students (like me!) are otherwise out of luck. But the Greek Institute is open to the public, provided you have the financial means -- classes aren't dirt-cheap but they're not unreasonable. On top of modern Greek, the Institute offers ancient Greek and a slew of cultural classes (Greek pop discussion, the history of Alexander the Great, et cetera); they'll even bring in some guests from time to time for special events -- Mario Frangoulis concerts being one example. The Institute itself is in an old house right on Mass Ave, it's rather unassuming looking so if you don't know it's there, you'll miss it. I only take off a star because, as mentioned before, classes and events here aren't cheap so not everyone's going to be able to shell out the cash to get their learn on. But the Institute has to stay in business as well, so I understand the reason behind the somewhat-steep prices.
