Went there for ice skating and it isn't expensive, the rink is pretty smooth and big but the rental skates suck.

While the main facilities leave a bit to be desired, especially bearing the namesake for Mr. Hockey himself; the shower facilities are impeccable. With six heads to each shower there is plenty of hot water for a full line plus goalie. Temperatures range from ice bath cold up to the hottest shower you could ask for, delivering a soothing steam that is held close by the low suspended office tile ceilings. For an element of surprise, regardless of how you set it the showers will select their own temperature for you and your teammates depending on building conditions. Shower heads are tuned for maximum exfoliation, delivering a strong and gritty pressure that removes any debris or dead skin that may be upon your after your game. Soap, which doubles as a shampoo, delivers an aromatic scent harkening one to think of a fresh lavender bush. Conveniently, and with the eco conscious in mind, it is believed the soap also can be used as a bathroom or household cleaner. With retro 70's tiles, and smooth rubber mats as you exit the shower you'll find hooks for at least several towels, nicely welded and custom made mounted to the sturdy cinder blocks. My sister was visiting from out of town and we needed something to do, so we decided to go ice skating here. The open skate times do vary, but it was still a fun way to spend an hour (or forty minutes if you are a beginner, ow ankles). The arena was packed with people who had the same idea as us. Overall, a great place to practice and learn. *Pretty sure the civic center's ice rink in only a winter time thing.* I believe Centre Ice on Hammond is year round though. read more

Always nice to see pictures of a legend when you enter an ice rink. This rink is starting to show it's age, but that is never that bad when it comes to Hockey arenas! It is even better when you go up and beat a local team 8-2 when you are having a tough season. read more
