Those who are more interested in old and rare do well to watch out for special sales which are usually announced and advertised in advance, otherwise regular sale information is posted online Friday evenings for the next Tuesday afternoon's sale. The group images on the internet are generally clear, but don't expect any individual catalog entries and be sure to carefully inspect each item yourself. On the plus side, however, you may find a diamond in the rough! This is a country-style auction so there is no announced sequence for the sale of most lots (although they do schedule certain lots for phone bidders); however, you can ask the runners to move up lot. Unfortunately, sometimes the crowd is less interested in bidding than talking, and the noise can make it difficult to hear the auctioneer even though he uses amplification. There is an active food concession selling at the back of the auction gallery (another source of noise!) and clean restrooms off the lobby.

A week a later they called and told me (not asked) that they were coming back to get some lawn ornaments that they didn't have room for the first time. I stupidly let them come back without my being there. Afterwards, I discovered that they gutted the workshop area of the garage. They took the whole wall of cabinets. The workshop is now basically nonexistent. I called and was told that they had bought the contents and if the cabinets weren't attached to the wall they could take them. They told me that if I had put a note on them to not take them, they would t have. I would have put a note on them if it had occurred to me that they were even sometimes considered part of the deal. In the meantime they left all the items they didn't want. So, if they bought the contents they should take the contents!! Just bad business. Be ware!!

When they came, they ended up taking much of what was in the house and some of what was in the garage. Paid and left. Since the house will be sold it needed to be cleared so work began getting the garage, especially, cleared and an appointment made for a person to take the " junk". A week later, a call from Bostwicks, "We weren't done, we're coming back for what we didn't get before. What??? Since we'd like to get the house ready for sale sooner than later, we allowed them to return. They ended up taking things that we considered part of the building. A call to them was met with, basically, if it wasn't screwed down they could take it and they weren't bringing it back. Very bad way of doing business. First, our stuff wasn't worth much, then they take more than they led us to believe and paid pittance for it, then they say, 'oops, forgot some things'???? Do not use them. Very disappointed in their business practice and attitude.

So I would go here if you're looking to pay dept store prices but want something rare and nice. Sure there's a few really nice priced items. Think more like a $5000 vintage Italian dining set for $1200. They have a lot of really great midcentury modern pieces. Some high end designer furniture. Sophisticated wood bending techniques. I would honestly rather spend money here. I just saw a lot of styles I haven't seen in a while. There plenty of items in the lower range too Lots of clothes, I'll be honest, I didn't look. Their music section in back has some great vinyl, posters, signed stuff. It was pretty busy for being in such of an out of the way location, but the mural walk is there too and the site is going to be a $38M development soon.
