The director of this school is amazing, she pours her heart, time, work, and love into the school, kids, activities, events, and ceremonies. The teachers are excellent as is the quality of the education. The behavior expectations are strict, but their methods are objectively effective and the teachers use proper disciplinary techniques (our daughter never complained about teachers shouting, yelling, or being mean like at other schools she's been at). Our 5 year old finished pre-K and is able to read, do math, and also learned history and geography. We recently took a long road trip and she often talked to us in the car about things she learned in school about the different states we visited, or historical figures we mentioned (She learned a lot about MLK, for instance). The school is wonderfully diverse, there is no religious affiliation so our daughter was taught equally about all religious and cultural traditions during the different holidays. We loved all the events, and ceremonies we attended, in the year our daughter was here we went to a few seasonal concerts were the kids sang and danced, as well as a trunk or treat, Halloween parade, earth-day activity, and a surprisingly robust graduation ceremony! We absolutely recommend this school to anyone in the area, preschool is a very important developmental stage for children and this school did a fantastic job setting our daughter up for success in K-12!

Celebree Columbia North is hands down the worst childcare center I've ever dealt with, and parents…read moreneed to hear the truth. I gave Celebree Columbia North a glowing review 5 months ago on google . That was before I realized the polished "tour" and promises were nothing but smoke and mirrors. Once you're in, you see the truth: this place is neglectful, unsafe, and run into the ground by poor ownership and new management. On multiple occasions, I picked up my child dirty, hungry, and thirsty. Bottles I packed came back completely full, leaving him dehydrated. His cheeks were flushed, lips dry, and he was clearly uncomfortable. If he didn't want to eat right away, the teacher just gave up and sent him home hungry. On top of that, he was put in the wrong diaper several times, which led to painful rashes (see pictures below). I've picked him up smelling like urine, proving he was left unchanged for far too long. Even though they claim they change the kids every 2 hours. The environment itself is no better. I saw bugs on the floors multiple times. The front door, supposed to be secure with a lock pad, was often broken, meaning anyone could walk in. Safety is supposedly their priority, but clearly it's not. The child reports were often unclear or incomplete, and when I asked teachers for details about his day, they couldn't even tell me what he ate, drank, or did. That's not communicationthat's incompetence. Teachers are constantly on their phones or sticking kids in front of iPads instead of teaching. I've caught teachers sleeping while children napped. The most disturbing was seeing a teacher yank a child up and verbally assault them. I refused to let my son into that classroom until that teacher was removed, but ownership took their sweet time to act. That is beyond unacceptable! And staffing? A disaster. Teachers walk out in the middle of the day all the time, leaving classrooms out of ratio and unsafe. I had to beg a teacher not to quit mid-shift so the children wouldn't be abandoned. You can see the exhaustion and burnout written on the staff's faces due to new management. It's sad and unfair for the kids who rely on routine and stability, and the owners simply ignore it. When I raised concerns, they brushed me off. Parents' voices mean nothing here! Celebree Columbia North charges top-dollar tuition $570 a week but delivers neglect, chaos, and unsafe conditions. Dirty classrooms(kids are always sick with COVID RSV or God knows what else), hungry and thirsty children(cause they have a give up method schedule) , bugs on the ground(be careful they might come home in your child's belongings), broken security doors, lazy staff or burnt out staff , and useless management / ownership that won't listen to concerns. I pulled my child out as FAST as I could, and I will never recommend this place to anyone! The only bright spots in this broken system were Ms. Zuri, Ms. Anna, Ms. Maya, and Ms. Patricia--teachers who genuinely cared for the children and gave their all in an environment stacked against them. And Ms. Lisa, in her management role, showed more effort and compassion than anyone else in leadership. Unfortunately, even their dedication couldn't make up for the chaos, indifference, and neglect created by ownership and poor management.

I can't imagine there's a better preschool in the Clarksville/Columbia area. Obviously every…read moreparent has their own list of "wants" and "needs" when shopping preschools - their own list of the features that are most important to them. Most importantly for my wife and I was to find a school where our 2-1/2 year-old would be happy, learn social skills, and would learn the fundamental skills needed to function in a classroom setting (preparation for kindergarten). It was also critical that we find a place where we would never feel guilty or apprehensive about dropping our kids off at school. We found all this and more at Hilltop. The most important things to note about Hilltop are... Small School - There are two classrooms and each one has a max of roughly 15 children. Small classes means lots of one-on-one interaction with the teachers, which any educator will tell you is extremely beneficial (especially for young children). Learning Activities - It is a school after all - so it's pretty important that they follow a really well-conceived philosophy and educational curriculum. Every day we receive notes from the teacher about what our child learned that day, sample assignments he worked on, etc. Low Staff Turnover - At other schools and daycares we've witnessed a constant churn of teacher turnover. The teachers at Hilltop have been there for years and are part of the fabric of the school. Family Atmosphere - So many families have their 2nd or 3rd children enrolled, so we've gotten to know each other and have formed great friendships. When I drop my son at Hilltop it feels like I'm leaving him with close friends/family. Credentials - Hilltop is accredited by the MD Board of Education and each teacher and staff member has all their MD creds (I'm not that familiar with all the credentials, so you'd have to check with them for more info on this). Secluded Location - While the school is right off Rt 108 in Clarksville (near the River Hill shopping center) it's also tucked away behind a Methodist church. Its location is nice for security reasons - and there's also something nice about being on a church campus. What more can I say? We are a Hilltop family and absolutely recommend this preschool to anyone trying to make the difficult decision of where to send your child for preschool.

Overall, this was a good school for young kids to prepare them for advance environments, but they should offer more like clubs, instruments, etc. second grade was the worst year because my teacher had favorites(the 5th graders). My daughter struggled with severe separation anxiety, to the point where her previous daycare…read morepolitely asked us to withdraw her because she cried too much. We didn't want to give up, so we searched for a daycare with more structure and a true classroom setting. From the very beginning, Miss Ana assured me that they would help guide my daughter through the transition and she absolutely delivered on that promise. My daughter attended Watchful Eye for almost three years, and I could not have imagined a better outcome. Not only is her speech now above average, but she also writes her letters, spells, and sounds out words at the age of three. People are always amazed by her abilities. There is truly something special about this daycare. We recently had to move due to my husband's job opportunity, and while touring new daycares, I've realized just how exceptional Watchful Eye is. I never thought I'd appreciate something as simple as the children taking their shoes off at school, but it made the environment so much cleaner and calmer. The new school's classrooms are nowhere near as clean. There is mud everywhere. I also miss the worksheets the 3's classroom used. My daughter looked forward to practicing her letters every day. The science experiments were her absolute favorite. I am so impressed by Watchful Eye's curriculum, especially now that I've seen what other schools offer. What stands out the most is the staff. My daughter has had some truly special teachers who changed her life in ways I will forever be grateful for. It is clear that Watchful Eye is very intentional and selective about who they hire, and it shows in the love, patience, and professionalism every teacher brings to the classroom. We miss this school dearly. My daughter still asks if we can call just to say hi, that's how deeply connected she feels to the people there. I cannot thank the staff enough for the love, structure, and genuine support they gave my daughter. You will not find another gem like Watchful Eye. I truly cannot say enough good things about this fantastic school.

Each class is very different based on the teachers and how interactive, creative, attentive they are. We've been lucky that our son had an excellent teacher join his class and the fun really stepped up. (Note: his original teacher is amazing and we love her for the care and attention she gives the children... Creativity just may not be her strength.) Overall I think communication is improving, though was surprised to learn my daughter's teachers changed and I only found out 3mos later... But her class is also rocking it. Pushing to 3 stars as the center is meeting our needs. Not kicking up to 4 as it's still pricey for what you get (let's not go into comparing summer programs...) ------------------------------------------------- I am sad to come back to this review and demote its ranking from 4 to 2 stars. Many things have changed in the past 6-7 months and with new management and some core teachers leaving, I think the center has lost its groove and has lost its edge among others in the area. Tuition is one of the highest in the area and I truly do not believe the program supports the cost. We are actually moving our children to another one where those extra fun field trips, crafts and programs are included in the fee (and for a lower tuition rate). I do have to say that my daughter, at 4, knows her sight words and basic addition and subtraction. I think the teachers make a huge difference and while some are rockstars, others are not. I wish the school the best of luck as they find what works for them and hey- perhaps we'll be back! ========== My original review below My daughter has been going here for just about a year, in the toddlers program. At the end of the day, we really like this school: - she is learning a lot - she is safe - she has fun It's a great, friendly environment. Most of the teachers really do seem to sincerely care about the kids and like their jobs. Management recently had a big shift as some folks left, got promoted, etc etc but this current team seems to be sticking around. It's one of the pricier centers in the area, but at least they have lunch and snacks provided (some of the other area centers that are in the same price range don't have meals provided: I can't imagine getting breakfast, lunch and snack together for my kids every day!) They also have some extra activities which are fun, but are an additional fee. It's a little frustrating, as I feel we are already paying so much and should have those kinds of things included whenever possible. They do some art projects here and there. Communication to parents is getting better but planning could probably be a little more efficiently handled for daily happenings (good and bad), as well as big events like the recent Halloween Parade and even the Holiday show and Graduation. (I would love it if they sent pictures home!) This daycare center is great but I don't think they go above and beyond in terms of services or care for the children. I may say that only because our former center was truly incredible so perhaps we just got spoiled with all of the updates, pictures, logistically smooth center events, the free extra fun things offered, stable staff, fair pricing... At the end of the day we truly are happy here and feel like our daughter is in good, trusted hands when we drop her off each day, which is the most important thing. I would definitely recommend others send their children to Knowledge Beginnings for a good foundation on learning and socialization. (ps: they do accept credit cards, but only Discover) (pps: I am 99.99% positive none of the pictures on this profile is the actual Laurel location; rather corporate stock photos)

In reading some of the reviews, I am saddened to hear that other families had issues with bullying.
