I've always been greeted with smiles and warm welcomes....and I am not a regular. They are very informative and helpful with deciding on a drink. The space is cozy with both couches and chairs and tables and a few outside tables too. Comfy to sit and eat or work a bit. The drinks. Their espresso is good. I've never tasted burnt beans like those big name chains. The flavors are good and different like dulce de leche. Some can get a bit sweet. I've tried one or two pastries and never been solid and very fresh. Price point. Their coffee is reasonable for the area and matches their competitors. I do wish that as a society we could stop charging for non diary milks, but I understand we aren't there yet.

Love that they have food options beyond pastries (which they also have, along with egg bites, baked goods, etc.). They did not take my name but brought my order out to my table. The flat white was delicious and perfectly hot, and the breakfast burrito was very similar to the breakfast burritos at McDonald's (in a good way, because I do like those). It was a generous size so I was fueled up for my long travel day. The space has plenty of seating and the wifi was quick. They have a section of bulk candy bins which I thought was interesting and unique. If I lived in the area, this would be a go-to spot!

Similar to the "other" coffee shops, these baristas can make your very specific coffee drink and it will be right on and delicious. They know their coffee at Slave To The Grind. If you get the chance, try some of their incredible pastry selection, especially the scones. You will never leave disappointed after consuming one of those British belly bombs, designed perfectly to be consumed with a hot cup O' Joe, served with a smile. Some folks have rated Slave below 5 stars but, that is likely because they are cranky, wannabe-coffee-aficionados who believe all coffee shops cannot turn over their inventory without having to provide "sell by" dates and paint pretty pictures all over the bean dispensers so they are entertained. There's plenty of choice on paper, but without roast dates or origin details, it's hard to know what you're getting--and the flavor reflects that. The brew came off dull, smoky, and overworked rather than expressive or balanced considering the advertised flavors and the price point. If you're looking for a comfortable place to sit, catch up with a friend, or soak in a classic small-town café vibe, this place delivers. But if great coffee is the goal, I'd head elsewhere.
