The tour gave us pretty much all access to areas that on a normal day a fan would not be able to see! It takes you on an audio guided tour through the entire stadium pointing out facts about the stadium and history of the team. It was nice to walk around at your own pace and not feel pressured to keep moving. It was even nicer to be able to see the suites, player's locker room, and most of all be down by the pitch and sit in one of the players seats, but almost more important all of the staff were very friendly and helpful. At the end of the tour it puts you in the Arsenal team store which was very big and had almost any Arsenal item that you may want. So, if you are a Gunners fan and want to have a cool experience to get closer to your team go on the Arsenal Stadium tour.

As well as the stadium there are tennis and squash courts, a gym and exercise classrooms. I cycled up there the other day to partake in the Body Conditioning class, and left limping and aching. Being a member of the Kinetika gyms means I can visit this one as well as the nearer Prince Regents, alongside the others in the Brighton and Hove area. The gym is much better than the Prince Regents one, if a bit dark, it's bigger, got more equipment, and less smelly and sweaty, which is always a good thing. The fact that it's a 2 mile bike ride to get to means that by the end of my class/gym session I really feel like I've worked out.

The AMEX is 10 times the stadium this ever was, in fact 100 times. This was one of the worst stadiums, like, ever. Okay not at all, it was pretty good, but by comparison, it was nothing special. It served Albion from 1901 until 1997, and Wimbledon FC played their European matches here at one point. It's been turned into a retail park now. Their stadium needs a facelift but their club does not. They are the heart and soul of lower division football. They have a name everyone loves and a spirit that never dies. My last visit here in 2007 coincided with a big win and some insane celebrations for such a small team. They're slightly pricy for a smaller team but it's London so it's to be expected. Lower division football is amazing, and if you're in London, this is the place to come and see it. Real football... this is what it was like 20 years ago. This might be my fave team in London, to be honest, which is crazy since they're so tiny (like your boyfriend's thingy). The stadium holds 9k, and they're currently in the 3rd Tier. They're a grand old club from 1881. They've never really been anywhere or gotten anywhere and their wiki page needs work, but I still love this little North East London team, a lot. They have one of the coolest names, and I need to go and Leydown for a while now.

Worst football experience ever. Family was very excited to attend first Chelsea match on trip to…read moreLondon. Bought premium tickets with food and beverage including in the Rose and Ball club. Pregame communication was great. We arrived many hours early as suggested. They had communicated to me about dietary restrictions and indicated they were able to provide gluten free food days prior. The trouble began when we were dropped off. There were no signs to the Rose and Ball club. We asked one guard and were sent to the opposite side of the stadium from the actual location. We asked another employee and were sent to a different club inside the hotel. We continued to ask for staff help and no one knew where the club was. 30 minutes after arrival or longer we asked the 7th person who was actually an employee of the visiting club who was clearing an area for the visiting club to arrive..he initially said he didn't know then a few minutes later chased us down and said he heard found out for us and pointed us in the right direction. Well, at least the visiting team staff was helpful. Well went to the club for the "premium" experience and it was awful. By this time (about 2 hours before the match) there was no place to sit. It was Very Overcrowded, uncomfortably so!!! We tried numerous times to get help finding or obtaining gluten free food. Each time, our initial interaction with staff was friendly and they wanted to help but of the 5 staff members we asked for help, only the last one returned. All others went to talk to a manager and never returned. The people working the food stations were clearly scrambling and very apologetic that they couldn't help. They said there was a QR code that could be scanned for ingredients for each dish but that often didn't work as most people can't get a good cell signal in the overcrowded area. We could not get a good signal. The workers said they used to have paper labels but stopped doing that and guests now struggle and they need to go back to the old system. The staff and the guests we're visibly uncomfortable standing shoulder to shoulder in a room where you could barely move your arms to try to eat and drink while you stood there feeling like a sardine smashed in a can. One staff member complained that this was ridiculous. He said they do this every match. They grossly oversell access to the club b to maximize revenue and the majority of the guests stand around uncomfortably and the staff is put in a position where they can't possibly provide good service nor help people. Well, I happened to agree. It was an awful match day experience. So very disappointing. I would never buy a Rose and Ball premium experience again.

The tour lasted about an hour and a half and it was fantastic. We walked through the home and visitors locker room, walked onto the field, explored the views from the press box, and even sat in the media room where the players speak after each game. It was awesome! Our guide, Raymond, was fantastic. You could hear his passion for the team and for the sport in everything he said, from the history of the stadium to the knowledge of each player. He was very engaging and outgoing with our small group of 8. I would recommend this tour!

Lillywhites in Piccadilly Circus, London is a large sports shop, which is much to my surprise owned…read moreby Sports Direct in central London (not too far away from their own large, flagship branch which is less popular on Yelp in terms of the number of reviews). It is located in a fairly old building and the only disabled/wheelchair entrance due to the oddly shaped step going into the store is the offputting, dirty, back "staff entrance" I have long avoided this store as its name Llilywhites is associated with Tottenham Hotspur FC - I stupidly thought this was actually their club shop until I noticed a sign which confused me "The world's finest sports store", after doing some research later I found the name comes from the family which used to own and run the store, located at 25 Regent St since the year of 1925 - it is nice to see it is still in its' original old building, which surely must be Grade listed by now - fairly impressive for a sports shop and especially considering it is now owned by the UK's largest sports retailer, for them to keep the original branding including the website (same website as Sports Direct just with the Lilywhites logo), despite other branches in other cities changing hands such as Leeds, Newcastle and Nottingham. It seems despite seeming to be a higher-end brand the overall store feel and layout is the same - and that includes the staff who didn't seem friendly or helpful by any means to struggling disabled customers or just shoppers looking to find something. It is over multiple floors and does have a decent selection, however. Is it as good as Sports Direct's flagship central London location? No, of course not - other than keeping the brand name it seems the store which seemed so historic and cool has become a boring branded store in every other regard, it's just a more expensive Sports Direct without improved quality/service etc. 2* - For the store size and location, nothing else.

Review #6666! Gayle…read moreand I took in a Premier League match between Fulham and Manchester City last Saturday at Craven Cottage. I was a pleasant walk (mostly in a nice park) to the stadium from the Putney Bridge Tube station and an easy exit from the stands and back to the London Underground. Craven Cottage has been the home of Fulham F.C. since 1896. My Charlton friend tells me that you used to be able to watch ships pass by on the Thames while watching the match. But with foreign ownership and revenue enhancement beckoning, the new (and not yet completed), Riverside stand now blocks that view and kind of stands out vs. the rustic features of the original stadium. Our seats were flip down and a little tight, but no complaints. A London friend of ours advised that we should have gone to see his team (Charlton - League 1), but at a premium over face value, I wanted the the Premier League experience at least once. We sat in Section E (Row J) in the Johnny Haynes Stand. The view of the pitch was decent, even with a pole partially blocking the view. However, we were too high to see the electronic scoreboard on one end of the field. The TV screen in our section helped. We of course rooted for the home team and hoped that Fulham FC would hang in there. But alas, the vastly superior Man City team easily defeated the home team by the score of 4-0. A friend of mine in California (a Man City fan) was up early to watch the match and we exchanged observations throughout the match. He of course was thrilled. As I was basically a tourist here (among others in the stands), I was only a bit disappointed. As football matches can get a bit rowdy, alcohol is not allowed in the stands and beer sales are cut off early. On that note, Gayle and I enjoyed a burger and a pint under the grandstand with a couple dozen "friends". I also came away with a Fulham scarf for a souvenir, and later my brother's note that players Tim Ream and Antonee Robinson are American. At the time of this review, Fulham was sitting in the lower half of the Premier League table. They've been here for 2 years after being promoted from the Championship League, with maybe some previous relegation. Maybe next year will show have them move up a bit. Come On Fulham!
