I was thank and treated her well. this year my application got so screwed up that I still haven't got my meds. She got to the point she was blaming me for her mistakes. she has become unethical and not trustworthy. I'll be leaving south Baldwin because my complaints fell on deaf ears. senior doctors failed to do anything. As far as I see it they also are unet. patient cat should be 1 st. not so at this clinic. Kind, professional, interested in knowing everything about me, unhurried, friendly, and unlike any primary care physician I've ever had in my decades of life. He never made me feel I was too long-winded. He asked questions and took many notes of what we talked about, which comforted me. He was interested in knowing about me, as a person and patient. When I left the office, I took a deep breath as I looked to the sky while thanking God for my answered prayer for a physician just like Dr. Cowan. I live south of Foley in the Gulf Shores/Orange Beach area and I've never found the quality of care, or a physician comparable to Dr. Cowan. So, if you're living in the beach area, it's worth the drive to Foley to see Dr. Cowan. I'm just so very grateful someone suggested him to me. Because, for the first time in years, I have hope and a peace I can't explain. I've been so worried about my health and desperately needed a physician to care and show interest in my well-being and quality of life. I don't usually make referrals, but I am happily referring any one needing a smart, caring primary care physician to make an appointment with him. His office is spacious, clean, has plenty of parking, several handicapped car spaces, and a covered drive thru area up front for those needing a drop off at the door. The staff is friendly, professional, and accommodating. He received medical training at UAB, which impressed me. He also served in the United States Navy.

"Best primary physician in America she understands traumatic experiences explained understands traumatic experiences, explains everything thoroughly I trust dr. McCormick and I'm so blessed I found her she's a happy Doctor cares about me . I trust dr. McCormick and I'm so blessed I found her she's a happy doctor cares about her patients. " Well I can't compete with that but I am very, very pleased with her knowledge, kindness, professionalism, and genuine care. She explains conditions and treatments, takes time to answer my questions, and engages in inquiries, and is fantastic with follow-ups. Both nurses that I've interacted with, Jennifer and Suprina have been terrific, professional, and friendly. They also draw bloods, urines and other tests onsite so no extra lab trips. They accept most insurances, send lots of reminders, and because they're part of the South Baldwin Medical Group all you labs, notes, history and test results are available on a patient portal. While I could go in and on about how happy I am with this practice I will talk about why I always seek out D.O.'s. With my years in ER's, and Navy hospitals, I have worked closely with MD's and OD's and have almost always been impressed with the approach to care and treatment with OD's overall. Medical doctors (MD's) and doctors of osteopathic medicine (DO's) are both licensed physicians who have similar medical education and training requirements, but they are significantly different in their approach to patient care and philosophies in general. MD's are trained in allopathic medicine, which is based on the use of drugs and surgery to treat symptoms and diseases. Way too often it's all about prescription meds for symptoms and not about addressing the causes, sad. DOs, on the other hand, are trained in osteopathic medicine, which emphasizes the body's natural ability to heal itself. They're trained to look at the whole person, including physical, emotional and even spiritual aspects, and consider how those factors may be affecting a patient's health. Some even use a hands-on approach to diagnose and treat patients, that can incorporate manual manipulations and other physical techniques. Note, both types of physicians are qualified to provide a wide range of medical services, including preventative care, diagnosis, and treatment of illnesses and injuries. I may be biased today as my wife is a doctor of Naturopathic Medicine and we're both Reiki practitioners however DO's were my chose of doctor before either of us went down those roads, they just fit my idea of good medicine. Bottom line: Add me to the list of beaming reviewers because Doc McCormick is one of the really good ones. Highly recommended!! https://www.southbaldwinmedicalgroup.com/doctors-providers/mccormick-lindsey-do-7511

She was in terrible pain and could not even walk from the parking lot to the office. She could not catch her breath and was so weak that she couldn't get into my vehicle without help. She has lung cancer and has been through radiation and is seeing an orthopedic doctor for her shoulder pain. But this was something different. I wheeled her into the office in a wheelchair and told the receptionist that she was weak, short of breath, and in awful pain, which of course still her shoulder was still causing her pain. Dr. Hickman just assumed it was her shoulder and told the nurse to tell her to contact her orthopedic dr. He didn't even look at her or have her vital signs checked. He just had the nurse send her away! My sister was in tears when we left! This was his URGENT CARE part of his practice. When we got home, we took her temp, and she had a low-grade fever. I'm not a doctor, but we assume she has the flu or even maybe covid. If the office had even bothered to assess her, they might have found out that she needed some kind of treatment. I am astonished at the (non) treatment she received yesterday. What an awful, uncaring doctor. Makes me sick.

They have a very friendly, proficient and professional staff with lots of nurse practitioners and others to meet most every need and the offices and exam rooms are pleasant and modern. They have a very cool app for making your appointment: https://ascensionhealth.inquicker.com/family-medicine/al/gulf-shores The wait time once arriving for your appointment is usually within reason and the doc take his time to listen to your issues and both asks good questions and gives good advice and explanations. This is more than adequate for any primary care physician and I think we found a keeper. Bottom line: Finding a good primary doctor is really important because when you need to get specialists involved you PCP acts as the arbiter of all of your medical needs and if or she doesn't then find another one. This doctor is sharp and on the ball. Recommended!
