I am a prior real client of Davis & Hoss. In 2015 I had an excellent experience as Lee Davis…read moretackled a criminal case with extreme precision. The result was exactly what I hoped for. In 2020 I retained the firm again for a criminal case in Walker County GA. Bryan Hoss was my attorney. I experienced the most disgusting, pompous, and disappointing outcome possible. We shook on a representation agreement in July 2020 and over the next two years he failed to contact the DA for a resolution to a weak and simple case. The firm failed to follow through after a bench warrant was issued due to an address/paperwork issue. I was arrested and left incarcerated while they sorted out a simple document that wasn't finalized. I had multiple phone calls with Bryan while in jail during which he treated me as subhuman while informing me I would have to settle my case with a plea deal because I was a bad person due to a prior criminal record. The firm then proceeded to demand more money for a trial and plea negotiations. They petitioned the court with a motion to withdraw as counsel and left me hanging years into a charge. I was forced to pay another firm to represent me. The new attorney made one phone call and one court appearance and the charges were dismissed due to zero evidence. The firm of Davis & Hoss has no interest in representing average, hard working clients. Especially those that require pesky after hours work or phone calls. Bryan Hoss is a pompous, elite minded attorney that has no business practicing law. I have created a website, davis and hoss dot com, that is available for other clients sharing my experience on any level. Please reach out to me on social media to get involved and teach them a lesson...that actions have consequences.

I wanted to write a quick review of Davis & Hoss, PC…read more We initially made contact with this firm (via email) -- and soon thereafter, we were warmly greeted by the office and given the opportunity to discuss our civil case with Attorney Stevie Phillips. She (and the firm, having such a solid legal background and with profound experience) immediately discussed with us -- the issues for which we were facing. Attorney Phillips went to work RIGHT away and Amanda (the best Paralegal, ever) kept in contact with us throughout. We are still in the early stages of our case; however, Attorney Phillips and Attorney Hoss have produced immediate results (focused as a team) -- ALREADY. Their team approach (involving all expert minds within their practice) is such a solid approach -- and very effective. I'll update this review -- soon. Thank you Attorney Phillips and the entire Davis & Hoss team. We truly value your efforts in TRULY working WITH and FOR the client. I've never been more impressed by any other firm -- ever.

If you hire Roger Layne, you will regret it. My dear friend hired Roger to help with a divorce and…read moreI have sat in on some of the meetings and the mediation. Absolute waste of time and money. Zero communication. Lazy. Didn't even bother trying to settle case. Just ignored it and let it drag on until he was fired and a new attorney retained. Roger was completely negligent. This firm might be good, but Roger would rather watch a Vols game during mediation than actually take an interest in what's going on with his client. When my friend got his file, it was sloppy and the new lawyer could barely make heads or tails of it. Roger couldn't even bother having an assistant type up his hand written notes that are nearly illegible. The notebook pages were just scanned in and saved. Discovered motions for default judgment based on inactivity on Roger's part, that were filed by opposing counsel that my friend had never been made aware of (I wonder why...). Roger dropped the ball on interrogatories and somehow neglected to review or submit them FOR MONTHS. When opposing counsel did ask follow up questions, Roger "forgot" to tell my friend and said "oops, I dropped the ball..." When reviewing the answers, that had been given orally in a meeting with Corissa, discovered they were unprofessionally written, with information missing and inaccurate, additionally, paperwork (i.e. bank statements, etc completely missing). I had to go in and organize, correct and fix the file so that it made any sense at all and help my friend try to recover all the evidence and that was lost. At this point he had lost all hope and motivation. When you pay an attorney to care and they treat you this way, it's hard to stay silent. How this firm continues to keep him on board amazes me. My best advice... go anywhere else. Seriously. $5000 and a whole year wasted, just to start over with a better attorney who actually wants to help. Watching a friend be treated so carelessly during one of the hardest times of his life and seeing his hope slowly go down the drain was very upsetting. If Roger had any conscience, he'd refund the retainer as a gesture of apology and acknowledgement of mistakes made, but I doubt that will happen. Let me make this clear, I was NOT the client or party to this law suit. My friend was the client and I have had to pick up the pieces and help him through this process. Update: The new attorney has done more in 2 weeks than Roger did in the several months he "worked" for my friend. What a shame that this firm allows such sloppy work to sully their reputation.

Due to his injuries after leaving the hospital it was too hard to take him places for many months. But that was not an issue for Robbie. He volunteered to come to our home more than an hour away so I would not have to risk taking my husband out. He was at our home within 24 hours of my call. He got started right away and walked us through each step and constantly kept us in the loop of what was happening with his case. I will never be able to thank him enough for everything he did for my husband. I would HIGHLY recommend him to anyone needing representation.
